The What's For Dinner Thread - November '09(recipe index in OP)

Thanks to everyone! My phone was non-stop texting and calling during the 4th quarter, sorry I didn't get back with y'all. I'm still trying to process this victory in my mind and crying every time I see Drew Brees kissing his baby boy. I will be up all night watching this game over again!:thumbsup2

Been a super busy morning, brought new Saints balloons to cemetary and missed a call from the Scottish Division of the Who Dat nation!

I love you...I am crying reading this. I was so excited for you. My DH and DSS were cheering away for your Saints. DH jumped out of his chair when the intercepted but was containing his WHO DATS because the kids were in bed.

:dancer: WHO DAT BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dancer:

What a great game... congrats NOLA girls! We were rooting right along with you!

Busy day today. I'm off to visit a friend this morning. She lives about 10 minutes away from an amazing indoor playground so I figure once I drive all the way to see her I might as well take Zachy there afterwards. So we'll be visiting this morning, I'll take him to lunch, and then we'll go play.

Dinner tonight will be meatloaf with a brown sugar glaze and broccoli.

Michelle, have fun today.

My turn to ask for prayers...if you could all keep DM in your prayers today. She is having cataract surgery first thing tomorrow morning. This is common but with her diabetes they worry about bleeds. Thank you.

Prayers for you Mom on the way!

Leftover meatballs grinders here today. Everything else was either eaten or taken home but not this :rotfl:

Stilll on air for our Nola friends. I am not good at following football but I figured out that that interception was a game changer! Buddy would not let me near the computer when I wanted to check in and see your reaction....he said that might jinx them so sit back down!

Liam was jumping up and down this morning when I told him the Saints won. :yay:

Ann -- Good luck to your mom tomorrow.

Have fun today, Michelle.

Nancy -- I'm glad all your food was good.

Becky gave me some soup she made yesterday, so I am having that tonight. I'll probably make the kids mac and cheese. Have a good day everyone!

Good morning, hope you all had a nice weekend. I can't imagine what New Orleans is like today.

Nancy- Glad to hear I'm not the only football jinx, I have been informed I'm to keep my comments to myself.

Ann- Thinking of your mom, let us know how she does.

Michelle- An indoor playground sounds great, I wish we had an indoor dog walk though!

Marilyn- Hope your all shoveled out.

Gretchen- I'm sorry about Hailey's Christmas gift. My husband still talks about the year his grandmother got all the cousins a nintendo and he got domino ralley. Of course the boxes were all the same size, so when it came to his turn to open he was pretty dissapointed. I hope your pup enjoyed her taco dinner.

Does anyone know how Aimee is feeling?

I know I missed alot, sorry.

Dinner tonight is takeout from Outback. My aunt gave us a gift card for Christmas that came with a bonus card that needs to be used by the tenth. It's sort of on the way home for my husband so he's going to pick it up. I don't want to waste the card, but it's a bit of a chore to use it when the place is so far away. Still, not dishes.

Here's my first attempt at using my pizza stone, so far I love it.
This was somewhat round on the peel, but I had a little trouble getting it off

Congrats to all my NOLA buddies! That was a great game to watch! I loved seeing Peyton Manning's bitter face, HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Dinner tonight is soup and my bread. I am getting a cold, ugh, but soup will be good for it.

Ann - Offering prayers for Mom.

Robin - Your pizzas look great!

Still pinching myself and wondering if it really happened!:cloud9:

WFD - Leftovers

Quick jump in here. I haven't read back yet but I will.

Maria ~ When Karma comes back around to bite us in the the backside it isn't great. My thoughts are with you today, my dear dear friend. Safe travels and please know that something much better is waitng just around the corner for you and Greg. Love ya!!

Aimee ~ rest and take your meds. Each day is just going to get better and better.

Ann ~ prayers for your DM today. Let us know how it goes.

WHOOHOO!! WHO DAT NATION is a'rocking today. I am so happy for all of my NOLA friends. This is just great and what an exciting game. I was sure rooting for ya'all!! Thanks Bethany - how 'ya feeling this morning sweetie?

This not having my own laptop is just the pits. I can't wait to get mine back. It should only be another week to 10 days. But I seem to always be behind on here.

We had an Ad Council meeting after church yesterday so Doug and I had to stay, so we just ate lunch there. Once we got home we got our snacks ready and the kids came over to watch the game. Oh the fun we had. Some were for the Colts and some for the Saints. Lot's of fun ribbing back and forth. And yes He** is a bit colder this morning. ;)

WFDT ~ Egg sandwich, pickles, and chips. It is another play practice night (I will REALLY be gald when this is over) so it is just me and that is what I am hungry for.

Make it a great day my friends.

Nancy - I was thinking autism after your first post. I'd be happy to talk to you or to Risa about it if you have questions. The food issues may be sensory, especially since they aren't talking. I had that problem with Hailey and the OT kept telling me that she had severe oral motor sensitivity. She still has issues with food textures, although she started adding foods to her list with too much trouble around age ten. The one thing I want to point out is if the boys are diagnosed with autism, the therapies and treatments will not cost the parents anything. And at age three, their therapies will come from the school district. From what I understand from my former special ed lawyer (a CT native), CT has wonderful programs for special needs students. They just have to get tested. But MOST importantly, the earlier the interventions begin, the better the result for the child. Sorry this was so long.

Thanks so much for offering to talk to us! I get so irritated but I dont say too much to my SIL because she doesnt get it. So when I am concerned I tell our pediatrician.

When they showed up for dinner, I had everything all done. The table set and the ham just had to be sliced. She came in and told me that her and her husband got in a fight so he stayed home. :headache: So I took his plate off the table and started to cut the ham. Then she asked if I "minded" if she didnt feed the boys my dinner. I asked her why and she said that she has never given them this kind of food. It was boiled ham, potatoes and carrots. So definately food a 2 year old can eat!!! She said that she hasnt figured out how to cook dinner yet since it is too hard to fit that in with everything else she has to do. :scared1:

So then she opens a can of beefaroni and heats it up to feed them. I all but died. Jeff is just standing there not sure what to do. He is not liked by most of his family and they think he is a bum who does nothing :sad1: Thats a whole different story...

The babies couldnt sit on the chairs, and she forgot the highchair seats, so she fed them on the kitchen floor. So by the time she was done there was beefaroni smeared EVERYWHERE!!! Kady kept asking why they were eating on the floor. :sad2:

Then announced that she was going to her car to get her to go containers to pack food to take home. I dont mind that she wanted to take some home, but dont tell me you are going to.... She packed her dinners then said "I am ready for my dessert" I was just sitting there like.... OK..... Then Jeff said lets do dessert now so she can leave!!!

The thing that concerns me is that they dont talk and they just yell. not scream, just like a AHHHHHH. that is the only noise they make. The occupational therapist said that she thinks they are understimulated. So she wants SIL to interact with each one individually for 20 minutes. One baby one hour then the other baby the next hour. She said she cant because she changes atleast 25 diapers a day and changes their outfits 7 times a day. I do not believe any of this!!!

The whole thing is so sad.....

Good morning NOLA! How are you'll feeling this morning?

What an exciting game.

Nancy How did your food turn out?

Nan did AWESOME with the food! I would have preferred to be in NOLA to eat there, but Nan's food brought us there. Nan had one Muf left over and put it in the fridge. When we were leaving, Jeff grabbed it and said take the whole thing!! Nan was like NO WAY!! So Jeff put it under his arm like a football and ran out.. :rotfl2: I think that tells you how good they were!

Michelle, have fun today.

My turn to ask for prayers...if you could all keep DM in your prayers today. She is having cataract surgery first thing tomorrow morning. This is common but with her diabetes they worry about bleeds. Thank you.

Definately! Prayers said!!!

Robin... I want pizza now!!!
