The What's For Dinner Thread - November '09(recipe index in OP)

Alan really wanted to watch the game, but I told him, there was absolutely NO WAY I was going to watch the game. I didn't want to jinx the team. I haven't watched all season, just followed along with y'all, but every time I watch a sporting event, the team I'm rooting for loses. I just didn't want to risk it tonight! Not when there was so much riding on this game! So, we watched "Prince Caspian", and I came in to the office to check the score every so often. Have to say, I was really biting my nails at times!

GEAUX SAINTS !!!

:rotfl:

geaux saints!!!!

very odd...I typed that in all caps...and it switched it to all lowercase. HMPH.

It did the same thing to me too. I changed it and it stuck the 2nd time.

Didn't make pie, didn't feel like doing anything the last two days. Did have to work on a report today though and it is killing me! :headache: I still have 30 pages to get through.

Dinner tonight was baked chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy and roasted veggies. Thinking about shrimp for tomorrow night.

We were rooting for the Saints here too! Tonights dinner was bbq pulled pork in the crockpot and cole slaw. The roast was huge so we will be having the same thing tomorrow, although maybe I'll switch it up and have it over rice???

It did the same thing to me too. I changed it and it stuck the 2nd time.

I changed it FOUR TIMES before giving up! And it did it to me again on another site. My guess is that they put in some software thing so people can't "yell" at each other? All caps gets changed to all lowercase? I've heard of other forums that do that.

A friend and I went downtown earlier. It was fun. Crazy, but fun!

Good Morning! So excited for the Saints! Still under the weather here and Mom is coming today. Not sure what I will be cooking but I took ground beef out. Probably something quick like pasta with meat sauce or a quick meatloaf. The only thing with the pasta is that my Mom always complains about it being too hard...so I have to take our out before hers and make hers mushy...yuck.

What a yucky day here today. Windy and raining. I have not been out yet...Riley is still snoring next to me. He hates to get his paws wet so I have to basically drag the poor thing out. I tried so hard to paper train him but no, he has to be difficult.

I hope Buddy had a wonderful Birthday.

Have a great day my friends!

WOW! That was a stressful game! I am exhausted this morning. Now I have to have a few more cups of coffee so I can stay awake. Have a great day everyone!

Good morning everyone! I hope that all of you who stayed up late last night, are doing ok this morning. What a happy time!

Risa - Glad to see you back!!! Hope you are doing ok with all the therapy, etc. We've missed you!!!

Today is an errand filled day, so dinner will be something quick and easy. I found a recipe for basil and prosciutto chicken. It sounds kind of like a cordon blue sandwich, so I'm thinking I'll do that with some kind of starch for the kids, and a veggie for us all.

Have a great day! I'll BBL to check in. Now, I've got to get the kids up and moving!

Congratulations to the Saints! I am really excited for all of you. Like Glynis, I didn't watch because every time I watched the Pats this year, they lost. I didn't want to curse your Saints.

Nancy -- Kady really takes MF's birthday seriously, huh? If Caili and Kady ever meet, please do not let Kady give Caili that idea. We would be celebrating birthdays every week. Caili doesn't have Cabbage Patch dolls, but all of her stuffed animals have birthdays.

Ellen -- I'm so happy for Matthew and so glad everyone likes Amy. Congratulations to Ethan on the chimes!

Glynis -- How is everyone feeling today? Did you have to bring Timothy to the doctor?

Maria -- I hope you have been able to get to the dentist.

I'm not quite sure what I'm making for dinner tonight yet. I might make pizza.

Good morning! I dis not get to sleep until 1. I set 7 alarms so I would be sure to get up! I am at work. I just wanted to check in!

I stopped to get a newspaper this morning. They had 2 boxes. One was empty and the other had yesterday's paper in it. I went in and asked. They said they never delivered today's! I got to work and my friend had picked up an extra for me! After she bought her two, the store she was at only had 3 left!

Have a great day everybody!

Well, the good news is that Leslie is back to 100%. She's heading off to school in just a few minutes!

Timothy, on the other hand, is still yucky. The good news is that his fever is down. The bad news is that he has a really bad cough and horrible gunky nose and eyes. It was so bad this morning that both his eyes, and his nose were all glued shut from the gunk. We let him soak in a warm bath and got the crud out of his eyes and nose, and he seems to be feeling a bit better. I gave him a tiny bit of the kids cough/cold medicine, just to keep things better under control. It will make him very sleepy, which is not a bad thing, considering I have so many errands to run today.

Katie is in the play at school that opens on Friday night. The play is Metamorphosis, a compilation of all the Greek myths. Katie is playing a "denizen of Hades", and I got an email from the director this morning, telling me that dress rehearsal is tomorrow, so please have Katie bring her costume to school. I fired an email back, saying that he never gave any costume information to the parents. Well, guess I'm going to the thrift store today because he told me to dress her in shades of red/black/gray. Seriously, that's all the instruction I got! I don't know if it's supposed to be a pair of pants, or a skirt, or what! So, whatever I can find, is what she'll be wearing! I hate teachers that don't communicate with parents. It's one thing to ask the kids to be responsible, but for something like this, a "head's up" email wouldn't have been amiss!

.

She and Kady would love each other! Marisa never let her celebrate her birthday like that before, I think that she just ran with it because Kady has been such a big girl during Marisa's recovery. Kady has a lot of CP dolls but she really only "loves" her Marsha Fiona. I got her from "Santa" one year when I saw her blue eyes and brown hair ....she looked like Kady. MF has been on every Disney trip, has outfits for every Holiday and is always one of the best dressed "Kids" in the World. I am no longer allowed to shp at BAB when we are preparing for a trip.....Marsha gets new clothes from Nana too.

Little story, we could not find underwear for her and all she had was those little diapers and one pair of panties. Kady would always dress all of her animals and they all had "clean" undies and jammies and a robe. Kady really wanted MF to have "changes" for her trip so the day before we left I took Kady to my Mom's and she altered several pairs of Kady's panties to fit the doll. I get a little teary when I think about my Mom pulling her machine out and the two of them discussing how the panties shoud fit. Kady was 4 or 5 and my Mom was in her 80's. I really treasure those memories of the two of them.

Ellen, how on Earth did you manage all those days with no sun??????????????????????????

It was tough for a few days. The sun didn't peek through until Saturday afternoon. And it cloudy again today. YUCK! Did you see my post about the dolls? :rotfl2:

Congratulations to our NOLA Ladies. Saints WIN, Saints Win. I am so excited for you all.
