Work is nuts this morning so I hope to bbl, but I wanted to wish Wendie a very Happy Birthday and also a Happy Anniversary to Ann and Ron!

Well, everyone seems to be ok, for now. At least they all went to school. No fevers, though, so I felt ok about sending them to school. I'm staying close to a phone in case I need to get someone quickly.

Becky - I always love the sound of a croque mosieur, but I like plain grilled cheese better, too. I'd love to see your pictures, though.

Ann - Happy Anniversary!!! What a great DH. I think the Pandora bracelets are gorgeous!!!

Nancy - I love Salisbury Steak, but Alan doesn't. I think it goes back to the way his mom used to make them. I think maybe I'll make it one day, and let him try it again. To me, it's the ultimate comfort food. My mom used to make it on the day that "The Ten Commandments" was shown on TV. It was one of 3 nights that we got to eat off TV trays in the family room. Ah, memories!

I have roundtable for Scouts tonight, and then book club after that, so dinner will be something that Katie can put together. I have frozen ravioli in the freezer, so I think she'll do that with spaghetti sauce and a salad. Alan will be on his own for the healthy stuff.

Glynis ~ I am so glad to hear the kiddos are feeling okay. Usually when one gets sick it starts the gamut. UGGG!! I also forgot to tell you how proud I am of you with your classes. With a large family and a small baby I don't know how you do it, but I am ever so proud.

Becky ~ coming down the mountain and stopping is called pizzaing it. You take your skis and point them like a piece of pizza and it stops you pretty quickly. You just have to be careful to not do it to fast or you will tumble.

Kat ~ has Kyle left to go back to school? Matthew left on Sunday after we got home. Only 16 weeks left and they will be home for summer.

Nancy ~ good morning my friend. I wish I had your time to do some deep cleaning. I really need to. I hope the baby is feeling better today.


I have to share ~ Matthew has a date this Friday. Her name is Amy. We haven't met her yet and probably won't for awhile, but I am so excited for him. He has a bit of his old sparkle back. (Ali - his old girlfriend of 4 years, really did a number on him). He is taking her out to eat and then a movie. I am so excited for him. I hope they have a good time. I knew you Mommas would be excited for me so I wanted to let you know.

Ellen- I am not deep cleaning. I am embarrassed to admit that I was very disorganized so i never got caught up with my normal cleaning after Christmas. It was driving me crazy. I am not a clean freak but I hate apologizing for the state of my home if someone drops in and I spent two weeks doing just that.

RObin- with what your DH went through and the time he was in teh hospital i can just imagine how little things were the highlight of the day!

Becky- We had grilled cheese last night too. I had mine plain and Buddy had grilled cheese and tuna. I was craving them again!


Marisa adn Kady are coming for dinner. I don't know if she is going to eat this but Marisa put her foot down last night. She likes something today, will not eat it tomorrow, and back and forth. Marisa told her no more, eat or starve....it was all the same to her. She said she won't make food she knows she does nto like but this day to day thing is over.

Nancy - Bob says that's the only kind of memories I have, because every time we talk about the past, whether it travel, school or who knows, I'll be able to remember a restaurant, or some food associated with it!!

Ellen - Yay for Matthew! I hope he has a nice time, and even if this young lasy doesn't work out, it may be the catalyst to get him dating again!!

Glynis - glad the kids recovered quickly.

Add me to the list of people with magazine clippings of recipes "I'm going to try someday." Well I organized them in a hanging file box, and now I'm actually trying them.

Mine are in a pile sitting on my office floor. Next to the binders I want to put them in...one day...

Lori - I love the idea of a WFD cookbook. I've considered doing that myself, but I never can find the motivation. Sounds like ya'll are really coming along on ya'll move.

Thanks for the thoughts on T-Rex, I'm going to try to get reservations. I'm hoping it hasn't filled up, but I'm sure we'll be able to find a time.

Maria- Sausage and peppers sounds so good, I have some carmalized onions in the fridge begging for some sausage to go with them, but I'm trying to be good. Hope you are all feeling better.

They are delish!! They were started by a chain resturant called "Kings". They were their signature item. I found a recipe for them and have been making them ever since. You can make a bunch and freeze them. I am at work now, but I will post it when I get home. I never use the recipe anymore but, to pass it on I had better post it right.

Good for Marisa! I had to do that with my kids too, and for the most part, it worked. If they don't like what I make, there is cheese in the refrigerator or cereal in the cabinet and they can help themselves.

Oh, and please don't feel bad about your cleaning. I put away my Christmas stuff, but I haven't done my post-Christmas clean. My floors are a mess! It's driving me crazy, but with all the snow and sand, it isn't worth the time. They would just look awful again as soon as the kids came in the house.

I've decided on dinner. I am making guacamole, black beans, rice and chicken legs. Liam will turn that into bean and cheese burritos. Caili will have the chicken and the rice, and I'll have a vegetarian taco.

Nan – I did that with Kyle when he became a finicky eater and it worked really well. He started trying so many new things because the alternative was cereal. The tough part is sticking to it and realizing that they really won't starve.

Tonight is library night, so we are having frozen pizza.

Lauri I have many memories centered around food. Food was always center for my dad's family. You had a party food was there. Played cards food there too, funerals foods also.No wonder when you eat something memories come flooding back.

I don't know if you all have Fanny May's by you, but I always gave directions wiht Fanny May in them. Turn right by FM go 2 miles turn left by FM Fanny May has the best chocolate candies.
