It should be illegal for a new mommy to look that beautiful! Seriously, though, both mom and baby look fabulous! Any word on how she's feeling now?

I absolutely agree...those were my thoughts. Darn she looks good, I could only wish. That is one lucky little boy, you can see the love in her eyes.

Hey All!

Sorry I have not been around much. It's been a little nutty in the hospital. I was going to post more last night when I posted that pic but Thomas decided to stay awake and want to eat all night so that went out the window. I finally got him to sleep around 5am and the nurse came in about 6 waking me up that he was crying. I did not even hear him.

I talked to the dr this morning when he took off my dressing and he started me on motrin with the percoset and that seems to be working better. I guess since I was being fed through IV and was under general anethesia there are certain time frames when I can take certain meds. Did I mention my feet and legs are keep swelling even bigger??? From all of the IVs I have had. It will take about 2 weeks to go down. Jeez, being put under really did me in. I guess it was good for my nerves though since I slept through it all! The only thing with that was, Tom could not be in the room then so watched through the observation window.

Kat, It was good to talk to you before. I will call you back tomorrow. This place is like Grand Central Station. I hope you feel better...Hugs for you and Kyle. Hopefully it is all premature and all works out.

Love the NOLA meet pics!!! Thank you also for posting the pic of me and Thomas. I have not saved those pics yet and did not even see that one. I have to figure out this picture stuff. I think I figured out how to download from the camera so I may post more pics later. Check out Facebook later. I will then save some to photobucket for here.

Sheryl, Prayers for you and Angelina.

Marilyn, Hope you feel better!

Glynis, Prayers for your neighbor and his family.

I know I missed some stuff...I am sorry. I have nurses, doctors and nursery people in and out of here all day. I freaked before when Thomas was in the nursery getting evaluated and the fire alarm went off. I cried when I saw the emergency doors shut between me and him...thankfully we did not have to leave the building.

Dinner will be filet mignon, mashed potatoes, spinach, salad and fruit (from the restaurant). I am on my own tonight. Tom is spending time with his Mom, who is helping out, and Andrew.

Awww poor Mom.

WOW your dinner is not hospital food - I remember we talked about the restaurant, you get to order from a menu, right?

Lauren  How scarey!!! I am glad it was only an alarm. Rest up. It sounds like you are eating well :thumbsup2 .

Kathy Hopefully Kyle can relax. Everyone gets in a slump look at my poor Cubbies ok don't don't look at them.:rotfl2: He will do well I really believe it.:cheer2: :cheer2: pixiedust:

I want to squish those cheeks!!!

So not fair. She looks better than I do on a normal day!

I think I'll join you for dinner tonight! Seriously, I love that you're checking in (esp when you post pics of that baby!) but don't apologize for being less than available. I've been in the hospital myself more than I'd like to have been, and visit them all the time, and I know it's no place to carry on conversations in person, phone, or online. Enjoy the rest you can get, the good food, the drugs, and time with your baby and don't worry about us :goodvibes

Tonight I'm making a new recipe from Giada - anyone make it before? Spaghetti with Asparagus, Smoked Mozzarella and Prosciutto

I've been wanting to try that but haven't yet. Every recipe I try of hers is really good.:goodvibes

I started feeling hungry so I had crab legs for dinner. :cloud9: My DM had bought them for dinner last night but I just wasn't hungry then, had a chicken sandwich late last night.

The fire alarm thing sounds so scary! Glad it was okay in the end, and glad to hear you are feeling a bit better. Your dinner sounds great!

Hey,

This picture is just wonderful....you look so in love with your wee guy.

Perfect.:)

But it is wrong that you look so good !! ;)

I remember thinking I looked ok after the boy....then I saw the pics and I was like death warmed up !! :scared1:

Lauren--you and baby Thomas look fabulous! Thanks for checking in with us, but NO more apologies. Get your rest! Love the dinner menu for tonight. I hope your hospital food isn't as bad as mine was. They delivered dinner one night and it was, no lie, gray. A piece of gray meat. I never imagined pizza being delivered to the hospital, but they do! I'm sure I made the moms in labor really mad!:lmao:

Glynis--I'm a fan of lemon bars, so will be trying that recipe!:thumbsup2

Not sure who asked, but I use fresh (meaning juice the lemon) lemon juice. I don't have any fancy tools, just use a fork.

Had spaghetti with meat sauce as DD's request. Was really yummy.

Hey All!

Thank you for the great compliments on the pic that Kat posted! I will share a little secret with you...Mary Kay!!! I didn't have too much on just concealer, mineral foundation, blush, mascara and lip gloss. Love the stuff! Hair is not done since I was not allowed to shower at that point. Also, I am so am in love with my little guy...he is just amazing!

Kat, Just put dancing on...did Steve O go yet?

Scotlass, I love that your family has made Thomas a family name in memory of your Dad. That is wonderful!

Hey y'all, prayers for Sheryl & her DD please, DD did get laid off from her job today.:sad2:

Anyone watching Dancing with the Stars?

I'm recording it and will watch it after DH watches Heroes/Chuck.

Okay, I made this for dinner:

Spaghetti with Asparagus, Smoked Mozzarella and Prosciutto

Prep Time: 10 min
Cook Time: 15 min
Serves: 6 to 8 servings

Ingredients
• 2 pounds asparagus, trimmed
• 3/4 pound spaghetti (I didn't have any so I used egg noodles :confused3 )
• 4 tablespoons olive oil
• 4 garlic cloves, minced
• Salt and freshly ground black pepper
• 6 ounces thinly sliced prosciutto, cut crosswise into strips (I used bacon, I had it on hand and I :lovestruc bacon)
• 6 ounces smoked mozzarella cheese, diced (about 1 cup)
• 6 tablespoons thinly sliced fresh basil leaves

Directions
Cook the asparagus in a large pot of boiling salted water until crisp tender, about 2 to 3 minutes. With a spider or slotted spoon, remove asparagus from boiling water to a bowl of ice water to cool and stop the cooking. When cool, strain, cut asparagus into 1-inch pieces, and set aside.

Return the water in the pot to a boil, adding additional water, if necessary. Add the pasta and cook until al dente, tender but still firm to the bite, about 8 minutes. Drain the pasta, reserving 1 cup of the cooking liquid.
Heat the oil in a heavy large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and saute until fragrant, about 20 seconds. Add asparagus to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Add the pasta, and if needed, some of the reserved cooking liquid. Toss to coat. Add the prosciutto, mozzarella, and basil, and toss to combine. Turn off the heat. Season with salt and pepper, to taste, and serve.

My changes: I cooked the bacon prior to get it crispy, rinsed out the pan, then added the EVOO for the garlic.

I liked it but DH thought it needed a sauce. :confused3

Sheryl I need some of that concealer and other stuff. I keep meaning to mention but I have an old brain lately.

I just finished a carmel apple cake I made it for the guys that worked on my car. They did it for a fraction of what anyone else would charge. :thumbsup2 Got to love guys that don't rip you off. Please forgive my messy stove top I am too tired to clean it and retake the picture.

Anyone watching Dancing with the Stars?

I stopped watching when they had that witch Heather (spit) McCarthy on !!

I got busted with AI....

The boys not a gullible as i thought.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Kat- thank you for sharing the lovely picture of our Lauren and baby Thomas. Both look so :cloud9:

Sheryl- Hugs, prayers and good thoughts heading your way. Poor Angelina, she has so much to worry about and now this. :sad1:

Lauren- Mary Kay is my friend but it never had that affect on me ;);) Rest and don't worry about checking in.

Scaotlass-:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Janice- the WW leader thinks I am not eatin enough. I think I should start adding a few calories in by starting with your cake :thumbsup2

Dinner was pizza meatloaf, WW pasta, asparagus and salad. I gave mashed potatoes and gravy to Buddy.

The first thing he asked was if it was that "rice" thing ....he meant the beef and bulghur casserole I make quite often....he hates it :lmao:
