The What's for Dinner Thread - August 2014 (recipe index in OP)

Dinner last night was half a baked potato and asparagus. David had Salmon with his. :)

Good grief it's Monday again................

Alison ~ I am so sad to hear Fran is hurting so much she is on morphine. Bless her heart!! I so hope things start looking up for you both, as I said, you just don't have time for this.
Glad you found your tennies. Now go for a walk. Even if it is only around the block. I love my evening walks.

Brandi ~ Thanks so much, I don't have a dehydrator but I bet I could do this in the oven. Oh I can't wait to try it.

Oh my goodness it is so hot here right now. We hit 85 yesterday and we will be in the 80's again today. Way to hot for this time of year. We tried to work out in the yard yesterday and it was just way to hot. We did the house cleaned from top to bottom and man I feel better. I love a clean house!
I have no voice today or at least very little. I have no idea what is going on. I feel fine, except for a little scratchy throat and hardly any voice. I woke up yesterday morning thing I was getting sick but as the day wore on I realized it is just in my throat. I think Doug secretly is happy!!

WFDT ~ Beef lasagna for me and a steak for Doug, loaded green salad and tomatoes. I just love the food on this plan. I never feel I am lacking!

Make it a great day.

WFDT? Green chili and chicken soup with tortilla chips....

Tonight I ate the leftover fajitas. Fran is going to have a turkey sandwich.

Ellen you need to check out my new trip report. Not the first couple pages, but start with the last post on page three and read on from there. Life just plunged from sad to craptastic. Unfortunately I don't have the time to share here and elaborate properly.

Tuesday evening and I'm brain dead. I forgot that I had been invited to participate in an all day workshop at work today and I got a surprise when I logged in....not in a good way. I had all this work to do....and then realised that I was not getting any of it done. The good news and bad news is that I think I ended up 'contributing' the most at the workshop....which means I talked a lot. I really hate going to workshops where people just sit back and then I end up having to provide the details! Hoping for an early night....soon.

WFDT? I skipped dinner. DH made baked potatoes but I was so tired from the day, I didn't feel like eating at all.

PIO - that is pretty darn tired, to skip dinner. I hope today was better for you!

Checking in.

Ellen - I hope you're feeling better!!! Take care of yourself.

Brandi - That's a great recipe for garlic powder. I don't have a dehydrator either so I don't know if I'll be trying it out. :(

Kimmar - Hope things are okay with you.

Alison - Are you and Fran okay?

It's been a busy week for me! I had hoped for a calmer year this year but so far, it's not working out as I had hoped. Work is so hectic that most days I come home and collapse on the couch. Oh well. I guess I just keep going the best I can.
I had hoped to jump on a plane with DH in April. He's heading to San Francisco for work purposes and is going to be away for 2.5 weeks. But I can't in good conscience leave my project give the stage and state it is in. Sad for me....but I know it probably is the right decision to make all round. This way, DS and the cats are happy at home; and work....well, it was good to see the reaction of the project owner and some of the other key team members when I told them that I had decided to stay.

WFDT? I think we're going to go get some Shanghai dumplings for dinner. The local place near us is pretty good and they make a great spinach dumpling.

Hey everyone, sorry I've been MIA, things have been crazy. Fran is OK, but not good. Every day is a new challenge. I've been doing OK on my eating plan and today I was down 7 pounds from when the doctor originally starting making threats at me. Most of the weight has dropped since Saturday. Tonight we decided to order a pizza, so I ordered it online and now we just wait for it to arrive.

PIO - I so know how you feel. My projects are crazy right now... out of the 6 I have 4 are in production and two and coming to close to going to production one in the next 4 weeks, and one in the next 8 weeks, and I am starting a new project in about 3 weeks. Ughhh. I have been so freakin busy lately. But I still remember to eat dinner every night, so you still have me beat on that front.

Sorry to hear you are not going to make it to San Fran.

Last night I had potato, cabbage (Raw with soy, rice wine vinegar, brown sugar, ginger, red pepper flakes, toasted sesame seeds), cucumber, and yellow bell pepper. David added a pork chop with his.

Morning girls,

I am up and at work but that is about all I can say for today. Whatever this is has knocked me for a loop. I went home on Tuesday and didn't venture out till this morning. Yesterday about 4pm I decided I had better move or I wasn't going to. So I made myself take a shower and fixed dinner. That just about did me in but I did it. Last night around 8:30 I realized I think I felt better. Slept ok and here I am at work. I really don't want to be here but I also know it was time I get moving. Whatever this was kick my fanny BIG time. I have worked here at the church for over 13 years and this was the first time I have taken a sick day let alone 3.

We were suppose to have Liam for the whole weekend as Ethan is wrestling in Denver Co in the Nationals. But they decided to take him with them. I was so sad as we had planned some neat activities. But now I am glad he isn't here.

Alison ~ I am so sorry you had to cancel your trip. I know that was a hard one, but one that was the right decision. I pray that Fran gets to feeling better and heals right up. Bless you both!!
Congratulations on the 7 pound weight loss. That is wonderful!!

PIO ~ You sound so busy. Take care and remember to pamper yourself or you won't be any good to anyone else.
Sorry about your trip to SF. Sometimes it just sucks to be a big girl and make decisions that we know are right.

Brandi ~ Holy mackerel girl, you are busy. Take care!!

WFDT ~ Lemon pasta, and a green salad. Nice and easy and right on plan!!

Make it a great day!

Sorry I missed this... I am still not used to look for that little message that says more messages...

Anyway, 7 pounds is fabulous! You go girl, you are rocking it.
