Lauri, What ya putting in those bellpeppers?

Robin, Now you have a manatee up there? Strange things in those waters.:confused3

Maria, I WANT your dinner!

I cooking salmon, I'm still not sure how. Dinner will be late.

Hi all!

We are having fried catfish and snap peas maybe some mac n cheese if I can get moving. :rolleyes1

Not sure why but I am so tired lately. I really need to get some energy and get things done.

Kathy I will be praying for a smooth closing. You deserve a break.

Hugs to all. I need to get dinner on

Now returning you to your regularly scheduled board talk.;)

:lmao::lmao: A lurker offering such wise advice and comic relief is always welcome!!!! We don't bite, well some of us do...but we will control Kathy!!!:rotfl:

-----------
The kids and I got a much needed nap today. I was one happy mom.
Still feel awful, my temp spiked again this afternoon but kids seem to be doing well and Ron is staying at arms length.

WFD- frozen yucky prepared food.

Trying to put a smile on that face...you know I  you!

It worked my friend, love you too! I'm hoping I'll have my girl back home tomorrow and that will ease the pain somewhat. I had no idea I would still be sobbing dozens of times a day like this.:sad1:

Maria, I WANT your dinner!

It was very good, I'll be keeping that recipe!!!!!! If anyone is interested let me know & I'll post it.

Kat, it's going to be tough without Sammie. I thought I "heard" Missy (my last pup) for almost a year after she passed & hated coming home to an empty house.

Ann, glad the kids are better. How high was your temp?

Sheryl - I use ground meat and ground pork, cook it down with onion, garlic, salt and pepper then add rice and a little beef broth to keep them moist.

Something nasty is going around church that I'm trying to stay arms length away from as well. I hope you feel better soon

:sad1: Kat, I honestly don't know how I will handle any of mine passing. It's inevitable but just thinking about it hurts. Sorta like thinking about losing my husband, or parent. A colleague (who has children my age) had to put down his 14 year old lab about 3 weeks ago. He stepped into my office to tell me they were going to do it and broke down. He said Duke was his 4th son and he didn't know how to live in the house without him. I still bawl just thinking about him and his love for his 4th son and I know he tears up thinking of him. From my limited experience, your reaction is normal and human. Sammie was a 2nd child to you in many ways. If you think about it, we often spend more time with our pets than we do our own family members. No other being loves unconditionally like a dog does. It's just not comparable to any other relationship. And now I'm crying so I'm going to stop rambling... I'm so glad she's coming home to you where she belongs

Good Morning Ladies! just wanted to say that Welby and I worked on our wines last night and I am one happy gal! We racked the Pinot Grigio again and I tasted it for the first time. It was a lovely clear pale gold and was really crisp and bright. I must add that it is not refrigerated so I was not prepared to like it but I really did. We will bottle this one next week and while it is drinkable now it should stay in the bottle until at least Christmas. The Pinit Noir is a beautiful ruby color, very clear and is ready to botle next week as well. I tasted it after we racked it again and it was very nice. Very smooth. It is not a full bodied red, a little less "strong" than a merlot. The Pinot Grigio Rosato is pretty but not ready yet so I did not taste it. We want to start two more within the week, I think maybe a chardoney adn one more red. I have been collecting blue bottles for a Reisling but I think I will wait for that one, I like it in the summer and prefer a "warmer" wine in the winter. I have some links to wine making for anyone interested.

PLease keep in mind that while the kits will say that they are 4 or 6 week kits they really take a lot longer. The wine guy we go to says at least 3 times as long is required for a good wine.

Good Morning!

Wishing everyone well...quick check in. I have a couple landscapers and a realtor coming today. Have to get the retaining wall landscaped and start getting a couple appraisals. That means gotta clean up a bit. Then A has 2 friends coming over.

Wanted to pop in and wish Kat all the best today. Call me if you can later.

Not sure of dinner. We went out last night...we met up with Tom after work to pick up a few things from the clothing store.

Have a great day...I hope everyone that was sick is feeling a bit better today.

:drinking1:cool1:Happy Closing Day Kathy & Johnny!!!!!!!:cool1::drinking1

BBL, Kids are doing well. :mad:I do not feel any better at all.

You're not rambling, everything you said is so very true. I absolutely can compare this loss to when I lost both of my parents, some may find this hard to believe but it is true. I had Sammie almost as long as I've had Kyle and definitely spent more time with her because she was always home. Johnny always said he'd like to come back in his next life as my dog because of how much I spoiled her.

Wanted to pop in and wish Kat all the best today. Call me if you can later.

I'll call you this afternoon.

Ann - Thanks for the well wishes!

WFD - Breakfast for dinner - Farmer's country breakfast skillet and biscuits.

Good luck today, Kathy!

WFD: corn-jalepeno cakes topped with tomatoes, broccoli, and a steak for John.

Kathy - My fingers are crossed that all goes well with the closing today! I'm glad that Sammie is coming home today. We buried our furbaby under our cherry tree where I like to go read. It's nice to be able to be near her.

Ann - I'm so sorry you're still not feeling well. However, I'm glad the kids are doing ok.

Aimee - Good luck staying away from the crud that's going around. I wish you the best!!!!

Thanks, everyone, for your prodding to get the appointment made. I called my doctor yesterday, and her office is setting up the appointment. They will call me back when it's scheduled, and I'll go in. I'm not really nervous, as I do self-exams at least once a month, and so far, so good. However, it will be nice to have that fact confirmed.

Timothy woke up in the night burning up! His fever was about 101 and he was all stuffy and miserable. We spent a couple of hours getting the fever under control and sucking out his little nose. Poor guy. He was able to go back to sleep, and woke up fever - free but with a stuffy/runny nose. At least he's happy. I've slathered his chest with Baby Vicks, so hopefully, that will help the stuffiness.

Leslie, is another story. She has a slight cold, but nothing really to worry about. She has started her "seasonal" coughing, though, and her teacher is totally panicking! I guess I can understand this, but I sat down with her before school started, and told her about the cough, how it's not contagious, just a sign of her asthma. However, the teacher told Leslie yesterday that she is not allowed to come to school until her cough is gone. Well, that would mean I'll have to homeschool her, as she coughs all Fall and Spring! I'm beyond livid! Leslie came home in tears! I've called the school, and the principal is going to get back to me later. I'm keeping her home today, to give her nose a chance to dry up, and to let her get beyond the emotional upheaval. I may end up going to the doctor and getting an inhaler for Leslie. She really doesn't need it, but if it's going to cause problems at school, I'll get her one.

Dinner tonight will be pizza meatloaf muffins, salad and garlic bread.

Aimee - your post moved me to tears. My pups are definitely my other children; they even behave better, most of the time:rotfl:

Wow. I admire your patience and ability to do this. Me - its just too easy to drive to the store. And I pass plenty of wine shops on my way home.

WFD - don't know yet. Have some shopping to do (speaking of wine;)) and we'll probably eat out.

Why, why, why can't anything go right for me?????????? Just got a call, there's an insurance issue now, we're delayed until this afternoon, if not it will be tomorrow....... I took off work today.......:mad:

BBL, Kids are doing well. :mad:I do not feel any better at all.

Have you called the Dr? This has been a few days now and you may need an antibiotic. Take it easy today!

You're not rambling, everything you said is so very true. I absolutely can compare this loss to when I lost both of my parents, some may find this hard to believe but it is true. I had Sammie almost as long as I've had Kyle and definitely spent more time with her because she was always home. Let us know how the closing went!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kat, my brother refuses to have any more animals. He has been the one to bring his dogs to the vet and stay with them when there was no more help for them and he had to bring Susan's cat. He told my sister that even though Sue is mad that he refuses to have another animal he just cannot lose another pet. The dogs were his and he misses them still today. I get your sadness, animal companions are more than just furniture that barks, they fill voids in us that we don't even know that we have. I dread the day that my Punkin goes, she and Sassy are all I have left of the four and they are two old girls and their age is showing now. Please don;t feel as though you are taking too long to "get over" losing your Sammie, it has been over ten years for my brother and he still misses his Heidi and Mitzi
