The kids and I got a much needed nap today. I was one happy mom.
Still feel awful, my temp spiked again this afternoon but kids seem to be doing well and Ron is staying at arms length.
WFD- frozen yucky prepared food.
It was very good, I'll be keeping that recipe!!!!!! If anyone is interested let me know & I'll post it.
Kat, it's going to be tough without Sammie. I thought I "heard" Missy (my last pup) for almost a year after she passed & hated coming home to an empty house.![]()

It worked my friend, love you too! I'm hoping I'll have my girl back home tomorrow and that will ease the pain somewhat. I had no idea I would still be sobbing dozens of times a day like this.![]()
Kat, I honestly don't know how I will handle any of mine passing. It's inevitable but just thinking about it hurts. Sorta like thinking about losing my husband, or parent. A colleague (who has children my age) had to put down his 14 year old lab about 3 weeks ago. He stepped into my office to tell me they were going to do it and broke down. He said Duke was his 4th son and he didn't know how to live in the house without him. I still bawl just thinking about him and his love for his 4th son and I know he tears up thinking of him. From my limited experience, your reaction is normal and human. Sammie was a 2nd child to you in many ways. If you think about it, we often spend more time with our pets than we do our own family members. No other being loves unconditionally like a dog does. It's just not comparable to any other relationship. And now I'm crying so I'm going to stop rambling... I'm so glad she's coming home to you where she belongs

Wanted to pop in and wish Kat all the best today. Call me if you can later.
Good Morning Ladies! just wanted to say that Welby and I worked on our wines last night and I am one happy gal! We racked the Pinot Grigio again and I tasted it for the first time. It was a lovely clear pale gold and was really crisp and bright. I must add that it is not refrigerated so I was not prepared to like it but I really did. We will bottle this one next week and while it is drinkable now it should stay in the bottle until at least Christmas. The Pinit Noir is a beautiful ruby color, very clear and is ready to botle next week as well. I tasted it after we racked it again and it was very nice. Very smooth. It is not a full bodied red, a little less "strong" than a merlot. The Pinot Grigio Rosato is pretty but not ready yet so I did not taste it. We want to start two more within the week, I think maybe a chardoney adn one more red. I have been collecting blue bottles for a Reisling but I think I will wait for that one, I like it in the summer and prefer a "warmer" wine in the winter. I have some links to wine making for anyone interested.
PLease keep in mind that while the kits will say that they are 4 or 6 week kits they really take a lot longer. The wine guy we go to says at least 3 times as long is required for a good wine.

BBL, Kids are doing well.I do not feel any better at all.
You're not rambling, everything you said is so very true. I absolutely can compare this loss to when I lost both of my parents, some may find this hard to believe but it is true. I had Sammie almost as long as I've had Kyle and definitely spent more time with her because she was always home. Johnny always said he'd like to come back in his next life as my dog because of how much I spoiled her.
