The week after Labor Day?

DH and I will be arriving 9/2 (Labor Day) and will be spending the following week. Can anyone tell me how crowded the parks are at this time of year historically? Is Labor Day weekend really bad?

If you have to do a holiday, I'd pick Labor Day in a second! We went last year and it was fantastic! The weather IS hot, but the crowds are not bad at all. You do get a bit of traffic over the weekend, but nothing like mid-summer, and the week afterward is almost empty!

We are headed down too!

We are starting our stay at Universal for Labor Day weekend. I was kind of hoping it would be less buy than DIsney. But also staying at Hard Rock Hotel and the front of the line access is very appealing for battling a crowd.

Then we are moving over to AKL on Labor Day. Planning to hit EPCOT on Labor Day because it always seems less crowded - because of the size of the park, I guess. Then hoping the crowds disappear!

I am not looking forward to the heat, but I live in Alabama so it shouldn't be that great of a shock to our systems. LOL

The park hours (or lack thereof) does bother me, but our kids are older now (11 & 8) and I am hoping we can take our mid-day breaks in the parks (cool, dark shows, etc) instead of going back to the room like we usually do.

I would appreicate any feedback on all this too! Hope you have a great time - hope we do to!

Wow, Jackie H., sounds like our itinerary is similar to yours!

We will be staying at PBH at Universal on Sept. 1, then moving to WL for six days following. I hope the FOTL access at US/IOA doesn't spoil us too much!

Since we live here in FL, the heat won't really bother us, but we both need to take a break in the middle of the day. That's why we chose a resort that seems very UN-Floridian for our mid-day rest (WL). It will be nice to escape the sun and heat for a relaxing couple of hours at the hotel during the day. I think AKL would be much the same way! We'll be trying that resort in November. I can't wait!!

So you think EPCOT on Labor Day would be the best choice? We were going to finish up any activities we wanted to do at US/IOA since we are passholders, then check in to the WL around 3-ish. But EPCOT would be great for the evening. I love the parks at night!!!

Here's hoping we have long, fun-filled days; short, quick-moving lines; and all the magic we can stand for our WDW adventures!!
