The "We aren't going on Vacation this year" thread!

No vacation for us, but it's the best reason I can think of for not going on vacation. I simply don't like to travel when I'm pregnant. Vacations are nice, but babies last longer. :D This little one is due in August, so I doubt we'll go anywhere too far away this year. I don't really like to travel when my babies are tiny. But the beginning of next year sounds like a great time for a vacation to WDW. Jacob will be 2, and this baby will be almost 6 months old.

No vacation here! Our $$ will be going to a new baby this year (and a new house!). We are hoping to go to New Orleans in Feb of next year, then WDW when the baby is about 18 months...

No vacation here. I am saving $$ to buy a house. Its tough not to go on vacation this year because everyone around me is. My sister and her husband are going on the DCL and 2 weeks later my parents are going on the DCL. Hey guys...what about me, don't leave me here in Colorado by myself!!!! Oh well, atleast I will be saving the money for something good!!

no big vacation plans here either. Hoping for a big trip in December of 2006, but we'll have to see what the future holds. I'm sure we'll squeeze in a 4 day weekend trip somewhere in that amount of time, but nothing big planned.

We have 2 AA tickets and 1 UA, and STILL aren't going anywhere! We will lose one of the AA ones 3/31:( and it's good for WORLWIDE travel! It is killing me...but it's everything else that adds up once you'vee stepped off that plane.:p I told DH that I was going to fly to Austrailia to have a shrimp on the Barbie....or to Italy to buy a real lace table cloth, or ireland to celebrate St Patty's for REAL....even Hawaii to see lay on the beach for a day...he does not believe me. I think it is the fact that he will have the kids for 2 days. Denial. But to answer you question...no WDW for us this year. I am already in withdrawl..but we did go last August, and also spent 3 nights enjoying the Dolphin and free stuff thsi Dec. Not doing the parks was so hard...that took willpower! Nothing like still owing on the last trip to GIVE you that willpower! LOL!
We would like to drive up to Oshkosh WI for the huge airshow in Aug. tho!

DH and I talked about it, and we are just going to wait until next year and take a longer vacation - maybe two weeks!

So much is going on this year: my brother is getting married next week, I ma having surgery the week after that  , in May I am going out of town and in October I am going to Sonoma for a friends wedding.

We may take a long weekend and go to Cedar Point or Kings Island - but that is still WAY up in the air!!!

Kermit - congratulations.

No vacations for us this year. We have in the next 3 months two communions, 1 christening, 1 wedding, 1 baby shower, 1 bridal shower, 2 first birthday parties and 1 graduation party, plus my daughter's 2nd birthday party in the beginning of July. Also, my husband is in the wedding and all of the guys are taking the groom to Dover for a Nascar weekend so he gets to go away for a few days (I can't complain, I left him for a week in December to go to Disney) We'll probably go down the Jersey shore for a day or two, but that's it. Disney has to wait until 2005.

Just found out that we have 2 free airline tickets, thanks to DH flying so much for work. We need to use them by December, so maybe we are going somewhere this year!!! :)

Nothing planned for us this year.

We're hoping to make it to WDW in December 2005...DS will be 2 1/2 and DH will have FINALLY graduated from college (it's been 10 years since he first started...he took some time off). I'd like that trip to be really great, so we'll probably save what we can and put it all towards that.

Maybe if I pass the bar (get results in April  ) and find a good job, we'll squeeze in a little something before then.

Thanks Mscott I tried posting it as it's own thread but it was taken down and I still can't get an answer why.

No big trips for us this summer, just eloping and hopefully buying a condo. We're going to CA for my sister's wedding in a few weeks, and we're sneaking in a couple days at DL ;)

We also have to plan ahead for another trip to CA to meet my new niece or nephew (due in Oct), probably around Christmas since I'll be in school.

I also want to do a cruise next year since I'll turn 30, but my SO isn't too wild about the idea.

We haven't been to Disney since February 2001. If DH and I don't go to Disney we play tourist here on the Cape.
We are planning our next trip in March 2005 when DS is in college. He is the reason why we haven't gone to get our yearly Disney fix...he's sick of Disney:rolleyes:
Only another year!

No big vacation plans here, either.

We'll be walking on our "vacation" by the end of next week (new carpet and tile to replace some very old and disgusting stuff!). I'm not looking forward to moving furniture around!

Logically, I know that we need to spend money on home improvement items from time to time. But it's not NEARLY as much fun as taking a vacation somewhere!

Same here! Even with my family in Orlando, we aren't going to see them until Christmas time. We have talked about driving up to DC to see the sights. Chris starts school in the Fall, so we're buckling down this year.

I just took a vacation to WDW in January, and sadly, thought I could convince him to go again Jan 05, but it doesn't seem it will happen...we will be getting engaged sometime this year, and want to start saving for our wedding!
