We will find out whether we're right or wrong about that, definitely... spoilers of the entire plot summary of the finale are all over the internet, as they have been for every episode about a week prior to the air date. I'm not posting them because I realize a lot of people don't want to know, and if you do, I'm sure you won't mind doing the digging :)

:worship: Thank you so much. This is the only place I feel pretty safe from spoilers.

Happy to see the end of Shane. :thumbsup2

My biggest complaint over the last couple of episodes has been the total lack of responsiblity when it comes to Carl. You would think someone would always be watching him. First because he was shot and nearly died. Not enough reason? How about what happened to Sophia? No? Then what about him wanting Randall dead? Constant roaming and listening in on the adult conversions? Stealing Daryl's gun? Knowing about Dale's zombie? Or Randall's gang of theives and rapists? What about the MILLIONS OF ZOMBIES that surround the farm?????

Ack....someone call CPS!
oh my gosh I totally agree!!! it drives me bonkers. I would have my own kids TIED to me to try to keep them safe from walkers!

does Jenner exist in the books? and did he say something in the books to rick?

Thanks!

Wow...I probably shouldn't have read that, but I couldn't help it!

No problem!!!!

The season finale sounds like quite a thrill-packed winner:thumbsup2

And here I thought Shane's death couldn't be upstaged!!

In the comic the CDC didn't even happen.

On the bus, didn't Shane stab a walker in the head, then shortly after, cut his own hand with the same knife so he could smear blood near the door to attract/distract walkers, making them easier to kill?
 Good point.

Those spoilers are amazing. I don't mind knowing because I had some concerns.

AHHHHH darnit. I clicked. But you don't have to just click, you also have to highlight.

I did that too.

That's like telling me not to eat that leftover piece of birthday cake!

(Yes, I just did that too). :rotfl2:

Word up. Hope you enjoyed all the spoilers. Even the cake. ;)

I think Shane was waiting to find Randall's body before killing Rick so Rick would have been found near Randall. He was going to blame Randall for shooting Rick then he was going to say he broke Randall's neck or maybe he would have shot the body of Randall to appear as if he shot him after Rick died, but he was definitely intending to blame Randall for Rick's death and be the hero to Lori and Carl. I guess once he wandered around so long in the woods and couldn't locate the body he was running out of time before having to head back to the farm house so he was taking his opportunity in the field.

I went ahead and read it because I'm going to be out of town and my SO has dibs on the DVR ;)

Sounds like a great episode. I'm hoping they either put it up on the AMC website or at least rerun it soon so I don't have to wait weeks or months to finally see it.

I don't know what TV service provider you have, I have Comcast. This past Sunday's episode is already on OnDemand. Do you have that that option with your provider??? Maybe you can catch up on it when you get back to town. If not, I am sure you can find it on the web somewhere.

There is even the current episode of Talking Dead available at the same time on Comcast.

I will be catching up on that later today:thumbsup2

It will be a long wait for Season 3 to aire in October. Six months:scared1:

That's what I think too. It's just letting us have a peek at what is going on inside their "brain" as they die/re-animate.

If that is true, and is what Jenner told Rick, why did Rick want to hang Randall? Why not just shoot him in the head? Was he planning on hanging him and then giving him a pitchfork to the noggin' as well?

Yup, they so know that Shane killed him. Not sure they know he has it in for Rick, but shouldn't take much to convince them after what they saw.

WHAT WAS CARL DOING IN THE FIELD????? OMG! Lori is the world's worst mother!!!! Randall is on the loose (as far as they know), Zombies are around, the gang is around, and she let's Carl go off at night by himself! IDIOT!!!!

I did feel bad for Rick having to kill Shane, I think that's why he didn't do the head stab right away. Kudos to Carl for shooting him. Nice shot!

I don't think Shane was turning prior to Rick killing him either. I think he was just sent over the edge by Lori. She may have been trying to mend fences with him after Dale was killed (fix the broken group) but he's way too invested in her to take that in a rational way.

Only one more episode?? I can't wait for it and yet I want it to last!

My first thoughts in reference to Rick thinking of hanging Randall, was to make it a quite kill - no shot. They just made a big to do about using a sharp object to put the walkers down, instead of shooting them, causing noise and going thru their ammo. But why then when they went to actually do the killing, was it going to be by a bullet, I have no clue why the writers changed it up.

I totally agree. Shane was running on a semi thought out plan and when Randall's body wasn't where he left it, he had to just keep walking to make it look good and walked himself right back to the farm. Once there, he had to go ahead with trying to kill Rick or get outted for his turning against the group.

After Dale's death in the previous episode, I was so glad to see Shane basicly get his. Hadn't liked him for some time now. He was the rotten apple of the group.

And did anybody else, notice how Darryl was looking at Carol during the furneral for Dale. He has such a conflict of emotions going on inside.

Am I the only one who feels any sympathy for Shane? Yes, he went too far, but he seemed, in some ways, to be the only one to see the *reality* of what they are all facing. It's harsh, but in order to survive, some humanity would have to be put aside, I would think. The group's first loyalty should have been to the group, not to driving around dealing with the captured boy (who should never have been brought back there in the first place). Even without a science background, I can figure out that the zombies are eventually going to get to the rural areas and overtake areas like this farm, and the group needs to be prepared to either fight it out or move on, but instead they just squabble. It's a war, and even though there's been a brief respite, they should have been using that time to prepare for the next skirmish.

I know, I overthink these things ;). Love the show, though, and thought the lighting in the field during the "duel" was beautiful...

Actually, my heart was breaking for him when Lori was apologizing to him. She was just apologizing, but I think he was seeing it as her throwing him a rope that they could still be together. You could see how much he wanted it in that moment. And everything he was doing was out of loyalty to Lori and Carl and a desire to keep them safe. I do think that in the moment he was challenging Rick to raise his gun, he was asking him to step up and be the kind of man that he felt Lori and Carl deserved, because he knew that what he had done was wrong, shouldn't be forgiven, and that HE didn't deserve them. At that last moment, he wanted to die.

It was an amazing performance by Jon Bernthal and a great way to go out.
