Am I the only one who feels any sympathy for Shane? Yes, he went too far, but he seemed, in some ways, to be the only one to see the *reality* of what they are all facing. It's harsh, but in order to survive, some humanity would have to be put aside, I would think. The group's first loyalty should have been to the group, not to driving around dealing with the captured boy (who should never have been brought back there in the first place). Even without a science background, I can figure out that the zombies are eventually going to get to the rural areas and overtake areas like this farm, and the group needs to be prepared to either fight it out or move on, but instead they just squabble. It's a war, and even though there's been a brief respite, they should have been using that time to prepare for the next skirmish.
I know, I overthink these things. Love the show, though, and thought the lighting in the field during the "duel" was beautiful...

The arguement that I kept waiting to hear from Dale was, that at one point and time, each and every single one of them was a stranger to the group. And when they showed up on the groups doorstep, they weren't turned away or killed. They were brought into the group. With the thought process that Shane had, none of them would be together, as he would have seen each one as a danger to him, Lori, and Carl.
