The walking dead amc #2

Wow, that was a crazy intense episode! I too thought for sure Morgan was going to get shot at the armory. Thank goodness that wasn't the case. And did I see him carrying a gun at the end? I couldn't believe he was holding to his stance on no killing while people were being viciously slaughtered. Did they ever explain why he is so vehemently against killing?

I'm really torn on Enid. I honestly thought from the very beginning that she was sneaking out to meet up with someone. I assumed it was going to be the guys that were kicked out and they would be the ones to attack them at some point. But from the backpack they found at the end of the episode it would seem that's how these guys were tipped off about Alexandria and not by an insider. She still seems really suspicious to me.

I loved how they handled the scene at the end with Carl. Just a normal day, shooting people and protecting his friend and sister from being slaughtered and then pulling a casserole out of the oven for dinner. No big deal.

And now that their numbers are down a herd of zombies are coming for them!! AHHHHHHH! Can't wait to see what happens next week.

I also was thinking Enid is working with the wolves. When she first goes up to the gate she starts to walk away, but then turns around like she has to go in. As others have mentioned, she is always going over the wall. I think it was to meet up with the wolves.

I'm hoping Morgan did kill that wolf at the end, making him realize there are some people you have to kill, you just can't give them a second chance in this world.

And who needs Rick when you got Carol! Love how badass she has become.

Terrific episode, loved Carol.

Loved when Morgan went to all the trouble of tying up the guy who attacked Father Gabriel and Carol just walks over and shoots him in the head.

Interesting times ahead and loving this season so far.

did anyone panic for a second thinking Olivia was going to shoot Morgan by accident at the end? That's what I thought was going to happen!

I 100% thought that was going to happen. I remember thinking it and then DH said it out loud. Glad it wasn't the case!

I think Enid is exactly what they portrayed, a kid who is afraid to get attached again. I think that's why she left. She sees this place going under and doesn't want to witness any more deaths of people she cares about. I do wonder where she's been going outside the gates, but it may have just been looking for escape routes, setting up supplies, etc. all in her effort to "just survive somehow." She hadn't been there long, so the death of her parents may have been fairly recent, and she's still working through how to live now. Just my guess. I really like her character and I hope she's a "good guy" and we get to see her again.

I agree with this. I do think there will be more to Enid's character, but in the beginning of last night's episode when they showed her background and how she arrived at ASZ, it didn't give any indication she is working with someone. I don't think she has ulterior motives, at least not with another group. I think she considers herself a loner and wants to stay that way.

I think Enid is with the wolves so she does not have to get close to anyone. There mantra is "kill everyone." That way she does not have to get close to anyone. Even though it did not show her mingling with the wolves during her background story, I still think she is with them. They would not show that part of her story if it is going to be a big reveal at some point. It also goes along with her "just survive somehow" theme. She is doing what she can to survive (aligning with the wolves for food, protection etc.) while not getting close to anyone (because they will be killed by the wolves.)

Enid doesn't have anything to do with the Wolves. The Wolves did not even know about Alexandria or they would have destroyed it long ago like they did Noah's neighborhood (people were hacked into pieces there too) until they found Aaron's back pack that was ripped off him at the canned food factory and they saw the pictures of Alexandria, the walls and the people. That is the same back pack that Aaron saw at the end of episode 2.That is why he cried, he realized it was his dropped backpack that led the Wolves to Alexandria. Enid and her parents were on their own for at least a year and a half during the ZA. They probably learned to stay away from people because most are dangerous. That is why she second guessed going into Alexandria but her family motto, JSS, convinced her to go in because surviving on your own is just too hard.

That makes sense actually. The wolves would have attacked much earlier had they known about Alexandria. And they probably wouldn't have been so shocked to find they had guns.

I stand by my prediction! :rotfl2:

I know I am probably wrong, but I'm going with my initial thought! When the show proves me wrong, you can all say "I told you so" to me!

I don't think she is with the wolves, but maybe she is connected with the other group outside the ASZ everyone is speculating about. The one who is possible outcasts from the safe zone. Rick made such a big issue about killing those that didn't fit in vs tossing them out because they become a threat so maybe that will be tied in mid season and she is helping them. Maybe she is leaving Karl like that because she is developing feelings for him so needs to go now before she has second thoughts. I don't think we've seen the last of her.

I think Morgan definitely killed that wolf.

My DH said someone took baby Judith as soon as the monitor wasn't shown again, but I think Karl would have noticed that so I think she is safe in bed.

Yes, all true. Enid is NOT with the Wolves. Sorry, it's just not the case. I would think showing her story in the beginning would clarify this.

On The Talking Dead, the actress who plays Enid (and is brilliant - she's only 15!) said that her parents had only been dead about a week before she found Alexandria. So she really wouldn't have had time to forge a connection with The Wolves and plan all that out. I think she's meant to be a love interest for the lonely Carl. And when Enid is around, he pretty much STAYS IN THE HOUSE!! :)

I think that Morgan killed the Wolf too. It would be like him to say that he's sorry first. I'm hoping that this opens his eyes a bit.

Did anyone else besides us expect the cavalry to suddenly appear during the episode? Those still behind did a great job considering how taken by surprise they were.

I still think she is helping the wolves, but all of you are probably right! It just does not add up for me. Why was she so nonchalant? Why did the Wolves not touch Carls house (I'm guessing Enid said she had that house), Why did they attack at the perfect time (All experienced fighters were gone). I also think she acted so strange just like, "hey I think I'm going to split" while chaos and slaughter was erupting around her. She was completely calm.

Also, I don't think they would show her meeting up with the wolves in her back story because it will be revealed later. I also think it explains the JSS, just do what you can to survive, even if it is aligning with the wolves.

Like I said, you can all say "i told you so!" when I am proven wrong!! It just does not add up for me.

I think you are absolutely right about everything pointing that direction - it sure does make perfect sense. So I'm kind of hoping you are right and we are wrong because it sure would make for an interesting story line. When she started to turn away from Alexandria, it was as if she was chickening out of something... that's where I thought that might be true. We are being led to believe it's because she's afraid to get close to anyone and she's so mentally messed up from losing her parents that she just wants to be alone. But really, how likely is it that a 15 year old would prefer to live on her own forever and ever in a world that is just that messed up?

So while there are lots of things that make is seem that she isn't working with the Wolves... there sure are a lot that make it look like she is.

There was a scene with (I think Carol) seeing an "A" on a post in red (if I'm remembering correctly), and we were wondering if that was at Carl's house. If so, it would explain why the Wolves skipped that house. Also, Enid made a comment about "how did you think we made it over so easy" or something to that effect.
Hmmmm, the plot thickens......

The Red A was their house, but it was put there by the hairdresser's youngest son (Sorry I forget both of their names right now.)
He was sitting there with the stamp in his hand when Carol came home from picking up the casserole supplies. (My daughter pointed this out to me after I asked about the A on the railing...) When she basically told him to "just get over it" in regard to his dad's death.

I went back and watched the episode again. I admit that whatever Enid was trying to say to Carl (which he cut off) sounds a bit fishy.... but I still hope she's just an innocent bystander and we'll be seeing her again, like Morgan. I do like her character and her backstory. I'd like to see how this kid resolves her issues over watching her parents eaten alive, being left all alone in a world like this, to building relationships with all these new people.

I'm interested to see if Carl and Ron can resolve their issues also... I guess I'm ready to see how the young characters develop now that they are reaching post-apocalypse adulthood.

I finally saw the preview for next week on Walking Dead. I wonder if we'll be seeing much of Alexandria at all. It looks a lot like the fighters trying to make their way back to town without being overtaken by the herd. Another action-packed week. Woo Hoo.

I read on another forum that some people think Enid may have taken Judith. When Carol set the timer, they made it a point to show Judith on the monitor. When Carl shut the timer off, the monitor was facing away. We don't see Judith again and we know Enid is gone. I'm not sure what the motivation would be in taking Judith - she hasn't forged a connection with her. I guess we'll see!

As PP mentioned, I think the red A is the same as the red A stamp that we saw last season when Sam was first introduced. Sam was stamping people's hands with that at the party the group attended when they first got to ASZ. A was also on the train car they were stuck in at Terminus. Not sure of the correlation or how we're supposed to interpret that scene with Carol seeing the A though.

I think Carol saw the A and thought of Sam, showing she does care for him even though she's so cold/hard to him (it's for his own good).

I think Enid meant it's how she and Carl could sneak out so easily (remember they would sneak out sometimes). I don't think she's with the wolves and I am thinking she didn't take Judith, but we'll see. I was wrong about the horn as I thought for sure it was Enid honking.

On TTD the actress who plays Enid said we would be happy to see her if we saw her again, so if she has Judith, we would be happy. I thought it was a strange turn of phrase...why would we be happy to see her?

I don't think she's with the Wolves. She was only on her own a couple weeks, not long enough to go feral enough to eat a raw turtle and then integrate with them, make a plot and infiltrate A. Maybe her family had dealings with them previously, but I don't think she's "with" them right now.

Morgan needs to smarten up, but I don't think he's quite as sane as he appears. He was pretty gone in Clear, I think he's stil a little woo-woo.

You see, I think the exact opposite of Morgan. I think he's like a damn Jedi-master right now. He pretty much has everyone on lock with regards to their "game", if you will. I agree with everyone in that his hesitation in wanting to conform and kill, is a tad annoying but I think once we get his backstory it will all make sense.
