The walking dead amc #2

It's been so long since I posted on this thread. So sad to see Noah go out that way. Why couldn't it have been Father Gabriel? I have not liked him from day one and after his little breakdown last night and then tattle tale to Deana, I hate him even more. He is nothing but a murdering coward and has the nerve to say that Rick and Co are the bed guys? Sounds like someone is trying to assuage their own guilt. Hope she doesn't fall for it.

Loved finally seeing Eugene step up and grow a pair!!:yay: Loved that he got out of there with Tara and got into the van safely and then went and tried to help Glenn and Noah get out safely. He even fought back with Nathanial (is that his name?) and wouldn't let him take the van and run, leaving everyone behind. Hope Tara is okay, I was starting to like her.

So, how long have they been there cause Daryl sure put that bike together real quick.

Not sure, but are we allowed to talk about the preview that they showed after the show? If not............SPOILERS...........

They showed Deana and Rick near the wall. Not sure if it was inside or outside, but there were 4 freshly dug graves there. You figure, 1 for her son and 1 for Noah. Who were the other 2 for? Did they lose 1 or 2 in Abraham's group? And what was up with Abraham. It reminded me of someone dealing with PTSD issues, as someone previously stated. I think it will help that he will now be in charge of this operation to get supplies to fortify the walls. He seems to do best when he has a mission to work towards. Keeps him focused and together.

Ugh, can't believe only 2 more episodes and then we have to wait till October? That is way to long. However, the new series is supposed to be starting up in late summer and I think has 6 or 9 episodes for the first season and is already guaranteed a second season. Is anyone going to watch it? I will give it a try. It's going to be hard to not compare it to Rick and Co.

I've been trying to think back since last night's episode of Father Gabriel's perspective on the group. He had limited exposure to them and didn't witness many "good" acts by them. Maybe he really does believe they are bad people?

Or maybe we, the viewer, no longer have an objective opinion of the group and, from an outsider's perspective, they are indeed "bad?"

If the group was so bad they would of left him on the rock with the walkers.

I was confused by the Abraham scene. They showed him about to freak out about something at the beginning before the chaos began and then they never went any further with that. And why didn't he get in the piece if equipment with the girl and shoot walkers for above like she did?
I thought maybe he could hear the walkers coming, because he was the first to shoot.

The problem with Fr Gabriel and all of Alexandria is that none of them have had to be on the open road during the apocalypse, so they don't know what it takes to survive. They haven't encountered twisted groups like Terminus and Woodbury so they don't know that you have be wary of strangers who seem like fine people.

Nothing too crazy happened on the Talking Dead. I was surpised at how well spoken the actor who played Noah was, and the guy who plays Eugene was funny. The scene for next week showed Carl and that mute teenage girl about to kiss, so we can look forward to them wasting some pre-finale episode time on that BS

As far as the four graves in the preview for next week, it looked to me like it was just their cemetery and didn't get the impression there were more casualties that day. But perhaps from Abraham's group. I think Abe's mini freak-out was just him having a hard time being normal again.

I actually thought Abraham was gearing up for the fight he knew was coming. Once he saw the birds, he knew Walkers were on the way, so he was gettin his game face on.

That's what I thought too. The birds were a pretty clear giveaway that something was coming from that line of trees so he was steeling himself up to do what needed to be done.

He ripped out pages from Leviticus.
I read that Leviticus talks about the responsibilities of a priest. Does anyone know if this is correct?
I wonder why he was putting a sheet of what looked like waxed paper in the Bible? That's kind of weird.
He was going to repair a tear on the page. It was the second page of Leviticus. It had about a 3 inch year at the top. He also had a glue stick. He puts it down next to the bible when he first gets there.

He seemed fine until he saw that bowl of strawberries and the note. It was signed Rosemary, I think. Does anyone know what the organists name was at his church? Wondering if the name belonged to someone at his church and it brought it all back and he just snapped?

Loved this episode too! I also think that Fr. Gabriel is the fallen priest and his ripping up the bible is the final symbol of him turning to the dark side. He clearly cannot survive on his own and has to cozy up to the safest bet, in his eyes. Right now he thinks that the Alexandrians are his best bet for survival and he is willing to throw anything at them to gain their trust - even if it's a total lie.

I do think that our heroes are not without fault and lie very much in the gray area between good and evil. But I'm still on their side and think they are doing the best they can to survive. But seriously, Rick, leave the married woman alone! OK - she's likely being abused by her husband but that doesn't mean you can swoop in and be an adulterer! Maybe just swoop in and help her. Sheesh.

I think he's worried that someone from Rick's group will tell the Alexandrian's what he (Fr. Gabriel) did to survive and he is trying to make them out to be the bad guys so they won't be believed.

I read that Leviticus talks about the responsibilities of a priest. Does anyone know if this is correct?
The beginning of Leviticus is all about the different offerings. Burnt offerings, Grain, Fellowship, Sin and Guilt offerings. There are descriptions of how each is to be handled. If anyone knew exactly what he was looking at, I could be more specific, but Leviticus 1-7 is all the offerings instructions. Chapters 8-10 are on Aaron and his sons, some who didn't follow the Lord's instructions etc...11-15 are "cleansing" instructions, ch. 16 is on atonement, 17 & 18 are forbidden things etc....There are 27 chapters, but since someone thought it was the beginning of Leviticus, there ya go in a nut shell.

Strawberries can stand for perfect righteousness, good works, the fruit of the spirit etc...I'm not catholic, I googled for the bit about the strawberries :)

Totally missed the bird symbolism with Abe - good catch! Makes perfect sense as to why he was psyching himself up now.

Good episode. I am really wondering how the 90 minute season finale will play out. I am thinking the bad group will appear and all of a sudden Rick will end up being the good guy and Deanna will be behind him 100%.

Is F. Gabriel working with the bad group(W)? I am kinda getting that feeling.

I knew that one idiot would try and blame Aiden's death on Glenn! Now on top of that and Father Gabriel's talk, Deanna seems to be pretty confident she doesn't like Rick's group. Rick didn't help change that opinion much did he? Although I will say I agree with Deanna on not killing the surgeon. He offers a vital contribution to the community. It seems like in a small enough town they could keep him away from his wife and if he chooses not to participate in helping the community with his medical expertise, then send him away. I think he is too weak to "regroup" and come back with a plan, or at least I think that was Rick's reason for needing to kill him over exiling him.

The preview of next week on Talking Dead... Go CAROL! She'll take care of the surgeon and keep him in line! :worship:

Good episode! Nervous to see how things with Rick will progress. I'm Team Rick all the way, no matter how crazy he might seem. Everything he said was spot on. I used to love Michonne but thought she was way out of line coming up and punching Rick. You need to back your people up and not show a divide, because that shows weakness. Seems like Michonne, Glenn, probably Maggie may have differing opinions from Rick which makes me nervous to see how the group will end up. I think Carol and Darryl will side with him.

I'm not sure Michonne has turned against them but I'm taking she wanted to cool the situation down before something happened or Rick said or did somehting to jeopardize their stay. I feel like she has a motive for it

I think Michonne did that to Rick because she thought he was coming off as crazy. I think she felt she needed to stop him in order to prevent a huge fight from starting between the Alexandria people and Ricks people. They are walking on thin ice with Deanna and I think Michonne wants to keep the peace for now until they can figure out where to go from here.

I think Daryl is starting to like being there. He feels that he has a purpose now. I think he likes working with that guy, can't think of his name.
