The walking dead amc #2

If the story follows some of the comic, I have an idea why Abraham might be crying in the street.

I think we'll be getting Abraham backstory next episode and the crying in the street is from that. Reason being the Talking Dead showed a preview of him beating someone with a can - and I have a feeling that'll be revealed to be a flashback.

Hated the episode. Hated it! Three more episodes left this year and TWD gives us crud. Lol... Did anyone believe Eugene... ever?!

I am glad they did not drag it out. Now what... back to Rick? I don't think Eugene is going to survive the smackdown from Abraham.

I want to know what the heck did Abraham do to his family that they were so terrified of him?

We liked this episode a lot. We thought that Abraham was very interesting.

To each their own.

I don't know if I hated it, but it was pretty bad. I don't even get who those people were in the grocery store and the editing between flashback and current seemed choppy and didn't flow well. It was like 15 seconds of flashback at a time and the story didn't seem to make sense. Were they just random people being attacked and he saved them, but if that was it why did they leave him that message. Were those his kids/wife and is he an abusive husband? Were those their dead bodies outside of the store when he was going to kill himself? Just strange IMO

They were his family and I do agree that they didn't really explain why they were so scared of him. Those were their partially eaten bodies outside the store. One of the bodies had the same clothes as the lady.

I've been scouting around and mostly I'm seeing pretty positive reviews elsewhere. The show was a bit choppy but the Walking Dead tends to be that way.

I didn't like his episode either. It seemed pretty predictable.

I think that he was very controlling and they were scared of how brutal he'd become. I mean those were people that he killed in that flashback, not walkers. We don't even know if they were bad people.

The Talking Dead explained why his family was scared and who the people were that he beat.

I'm torn - I always watch it, some guests are better than others, but if you don't watch it you miss out on some of the backstory of different characters. Like this week.

The Talking Dead had Michael Cudlitz (Abraham) on it tonight. He explained that in the comics the guys in the store in the flashback had raped his family. His family wasn't used to seeing Abraham in soldier mode which is why his brutality scared them. Now that part I still don't get. If bad guys raped my children and me I would be okay with daddy doing that personally, but that's just me.

The Talking Dead is a great show in itself but also explains stuff not always explained on TWD.

I saw that explanation too on the TD, and it did not make sense to me either. Or that they would flee from him.

Because the brutality of how he killed them terrified them, and they were afraid of him after that.

In the comics, they raped his wife and daughter (and several other women who they were hiding in that grocery store with), and made the son watch because he tried to stop them. When Abraham found out, he and several others killed them, but Abraham was the most brutal about it. And the rapists were neighbors of theirs, he mentioned that one was a kid who used to mow his lawn.

This was still early on in the apocalypse, and the family was still in shock over the attacks, and even more afraid after watching what it turned Abraham into when he killed them. So the wife took the kids and got them away from him.

Also in the comics, Abraham found the wife and son killed, but the daughter had turned into a walker. He’d been forced to shoot her.

He actually told that whole story to Rick after the incident with the Claimers, when they tried to attack Carl (there’s no Daryl in the comics, it was Abraham that Rick was with when that happened), saying he’d done something similar when his own family was attacked. He told Rick he’d lost his family over it.

Thanks for filling me in.

As much as I love TWD, I didn't care for this episode. I actually dozed off a few times :faint::faint:

Only 3 more episodes!!!! They need to step it up after this one!

Anyone watch Z Nation on the SyFy channel? It comes on Fridays at 10:00. It's a crapbag zombie show (compared to TWD), but has a good story line and I am getting attached to the characters. Well, this past Friday's show was just like last night's TWD episode, disappointing!!!!

Two disappointing zombie shows in 1 week. How am I going to make it through the rest of this week :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I was also a little disappointed, it seemed slow or something. I am not crazy about Rosita, something about her acting I don't like. Maggie annoys me by being so worried about Rick & Co. No mention of her sister. I was very confused about Abrahams flashbacks. I kept wondering who those folks were, why he beat them up etc. At least we saw how he met Eugene.

The opening episode was so good, but it is slipping a bit now I think. Hard to keep up that level.

I didn't care for it. I had no clue who the people were or why he killed them. I shouldn't have to watch the Talking Dead to figure out what's going on in the show.

I agree, you should not have to watch TD or be a fan of the comics to know what is going on.

Thanks for the better explanation. Maybe they should have spent more time on that and less time on things that had little meaning and given the back story a little more time. I usually like seeing their backstory, but not this time.

I agree. I don't really like watching the after show and didn't on Breaking Bad and don't with this or SOA. 00
