The walking dead amc #2

Thanks for the better explanation. Maybe they should have spent more time on that and less time on things that had little meaning and given the back story a little more time. I usually like seeing their backstory, but not this time.

I agree. I don't really like watching the after show and didn't on Breaking Bad and don't with this or SOA. 00

The episode may have been MUCH better with less rambling on... Another bus issue?!?!?... And more backstory. The sex scene and finding out Eugene is a creeper were totally useless. I was very disappointed.

We were also disappointed in the show last night. Prob. my least favorite episode so far. Also, not sure if it was my tv or not but the dark scenes were so dark we could hardly see what was going on. Anyone else have that problem?

Agree with least fav episode so far.

It may be your TV. The TV in our kitchen(LED or LCD, not sure) is that way. The TV in our living room, LED, has a fabulous picture!!! Both are Samsungs.

I have a Samsung, with a wonderful picture, but yes, those nighttime scenes were incredibly dark!
I usually love all episodes. I didn't hate this one, but didn't love it either. It seems this season they are putting things in that don't get explained until the Talking Dead. That should not be that way. I figured they were his family, and that they watched him brutally kill a lot of people with just his hands and can. I could tell they weren't walkers, and I could tell it was his family he found dead. But needed TD to fill in the rest for me.
I do love that show though, Josh McDermitt and Michael Cudlitz should be permanent guests, they are hilarious!
I do not see how it's possible that Eugene could survive falling onto the pavement the way he did. I guess we will see.
At least next week Daryl and Carol are back, but we need some Rick too!

Very dark.

I totally agree. A lot of stuff that was kind of pointless and unnecessary. They should focused more on Abraham's past (for those of us that haven't read the comics) and less on that creepy voyeur scene.

Agree with the rest of you... lots of filler dialogue in this episode. Also shot very dark and quiet. I had my volume on 70 and still couldn't hear!

The season started out promising - the first three episodes were great, but the last two have been a bore with Beth and now Abraham & Co. And while I am anxious to see what goes on with Darryl and Carol, I think next week looks a tad boring too. I hate when they focus on one group per episode. It would be much more interesting to go back and forth between all of them, and their storylines would move faster too. Hopefully after next week, we can go back to Rick & Co and see them connect back with Darryl, Carol and possibly Beth.

The one saving grace of this episode was the reveal of Eugene being a fraud. It was to be expected, but now that it's out there, I am interested to see how that will impact the dynamic of Abraham's crew. Will Glenn and Maggie say peace out and head back towards Rick and the gang? Will Abraham need to be permanently separated from Eugene? I can see Tara taking Eugene under her wing. Should be interesting, hopefully it doesn't take three weeks to find out!

I will be surprised if Eugene is alive. Glenn and Maggie can't really go back, they don't know if Rick is even still there. For all they know they are on their way to DC as well. They may all have to keep heading in that direction.

I think the question of whether Eugene is still alive was spoiled on TD.

They need to set an end date for the series. This reminds me of Lost. I know the comics continue, but the series needs more direction and purpose.

We were joking last night that Gimple is really going to kill Eugene off brutally after his appearance on TD last night :)

I also think some scenes were totally unnecessary. The sex scene with Abraham and Rosita with Eugene watching was useless. Should have focused more on Abrahams story. I don't read the comics so I was totally lost.

As PP mentions, it's confirmed Eugene lives on the Talking Dead. But even if that hadn't been confirmed, there's been too much investment and character development to let him die off like that. Especially after he divulged that he's a fraud - we still have to see how everyone reacts to that now.

As far as Glenn and Maggie, there was a few times in the episode where they mentioned their concern for reuniting with Rick and the group. At one point, Eugene even mentions they should just go back to the church. At another point, Maggie wants to set up a camp in the bookstore. Now that they have nothing to look forward to in DC, which seemed to be driving Maggie and helping her cope with leaving their group, I'm kind of hoping they try to get back to the church. After all, it will be useless for Rick's group to go to DC now too. I guess we'll find out!

I wasn't in love with this episode, either, but then again, I expected it wouldn't be great when I saw in the preview it was an episode centering around Abraham and Eugene.

I expected it would be the reveal that Eugene was lying because they've been very expedient lately with tying up story lines (Gareth?)... they can't possibly waste more than one episode on him.

The best part, actually, was watching Talking Dead and how everyone was completely cutting on the Eugene character, especially Jeff McDermitt.

I am looking forward to the Carol/Daryl episode next week. Should be a lot more interesting.

I watched TD and I know all of what Josh said, I just think thats the most unrealistic thing to date, to survive that fall, especially without medical attention.
Rick and his group don't know yet, that there is no reason to go to DC. I have no idea where they all go now, but I was just pointing out, as one of them did last night, that Rick and his group don't know that, and for all Eugenes group knows, Rick is on his way to DC as well.
Taking over the hospital seems like that would be a good idea LOL, but there wouldn't be much excitement if there were someplace so secure. I am guessing they will all be back together shortly, I don't think they will be separated all season like last year.

I hope they go back to the church to tell Rick & he's still there. Maybe after they get Beth, they can head back to the library since Maggie said that's a good place for a base. Next week's episode will be better than this one.

I saw some spoiler pictures (I usually don't go looking for spoilers, but someone posted them on another forum and I peeked) where they were shooting about two weeks ago, and they're definitely not at the hospital. The location was pretty familiar from the comics, though.

Because the brutality of how he killed them terrified them, and they were afraid of him after that.

I would think that they would be more scared of the walkers then their own husband and father. Sorry, but if myself and my daughters were raped, I would expect my husband to go crazy on them like Abe did. It wouldn't make me afraid of him, it would make me feel more secure, knowing what he would do to protect and avenge us.

I enjoyed last nights episode, better than last weeks at least! :lmao: Abe really needed to chill. Not allowing any breaks, no supply runs, no change of clothes. You could tell he was losing it. I think the brutal beating that he participated in at the church really brought up a lot of memories of what happened in the grocery store with his wife and kids. He is a loose cannon and that is going to get them all killed.

I hope they all turn around and head back to the church. They have only gone 15 miles after.

At least next weeks is back to some of the core members, or at least Daryl is in it, so we are all good.:goodvibes I have a feeling they will have them all back together again by the mid season finale. At least I am hoping. So sick and tired of having to wait 3-4 weeks to find out what is happening with a specific group. They need to get them all back together again or people are going to stop watching.

I also thought his wife and kids reactions seemed a bit extreme for the situation, and perhaps they had been afraid of him in the past, but of course they never told us that, or implied that.

BTW, Lizzie was in Once Upon A Time last night. I kept thinking "Uh Oh she's going to stab her sisters so they become walkers!"
