The WALDORF ASTORIA ORLANDO and HILTON BONNET CREEK Information Thread

Thanks. I will check with her, although it's not a dealbreaker for me since I've already called the fold-out couch!

Can't wait! I really don't think I'm going to miss EMH. I just checked about making a reservation for the Bull and Bear (thinking it was like making a Disney ADR) and they don't take them this far out. Who knew? Sort of refreshing.

Help, please! :flower3:
I have skimmed the thread as best I can, but have a couple of questions. I sincerely apologize if these have already been asked and answered!!

First- we are arriving in Orlando a day earlier now, and there is "no room in the inn" at the Contemporary. We're looking at either HBC or WAO. Both have great rates available, but I'm a bit befuddled by the "resort credit" option for some of the reservations...how exactly does that work? Is it a voucher of sorts, or is it a flat $50 credit on your CC when you check out? Can it be used for meals? Cabana rental? Adult beverages by the pool? ;)

Also- I know you can move between the two pools, but can you also participate in the others' activities? For example, the HBC says that they'll have a "Fall Festival" going on that I know my DS would love to participate in, but he'd probably also like the "Turkey Hunt" (finding hidden stuffed turkeys in the WAO and redeem for a prize). Does your key card work for charging privileges at both properties? (Can you charge at WAO if you're staying at HBC and vice versa?)

Thank you!!!!
~Kimber

Isn't it exciting arriving a day earlier? I just added 3 nights up front, so I know how you feel. I booked a great AP rate on-property though. I know the CR is full around Christmas, but the other deluxes don't seem to be. There must be a convention that has blocked floors. Those with room-only reservations have up until 5 days prior to arrival to cancel w/o penalty, so you might want to keep checking the WDW booking site up until then for availability.

The resort credit must be used on-property. This is from the website:

Your credit may be used at any of our restaurants including Bull & Bear Steakhouse®, the Waldorf Astoria Golf Club, and the Waldorf Astoria Spa by Guerlain®.

I don't see why your DS couldn't participate in some activities at the "other" hotel. But this is just an assumption on my part. Hopefully, someone will chime in here and answer your question or you could call either the HBC or WA directly and ask them.

Have a great vacation:goodvibes

Just a head's up ... the Hilton Bonnet Creek is available for points through Hilton Honor's Point Stretcher awards program for December! We just booked 5 nights 12/16 - 12/21 for 120,000 HHonors points. That's only 24,000 points per night v/s 40,000 points.

Hi y'all! I just booked Hilton Bonnet Creek for one night for me and my family with my Hilton points. It looks fabulous! I usually pick a hotel that has free breakfast (when I use my points) and free parking...but that pool!!!! We couldn't resist! So the extra $13+ for parking and breakfast looks worth it - hopefully I made the right decision! I can't wait!

Has anyone stayed at both and which do you prefer and why? Are they both similar in rooms and amenities? Any comments welcome. :)

How are the restaurants at the two hotels, especially for dinner? We are checking in this Friday and it will be right around dinner time. I thought I remembered someone saying the Hilton restaurant wasn't very good for dinner. I was hoping to eat there so we can get the kids to bed early for that 8am MK opening time!

Thanks!

Hopefully you'll get more answers to your question, but in the meantime, here's a link to some Tripadvisor reviews for La Luce and Bull & Bear:

Does anyone know if they will automatically offer a free room upgrade if you are a Hilton Honors member?

I am HHonors Gold.

I have stayed at the Waldorf twice and Hilton Bonnet Creek once and never received a complimentary room upgrade.

We are also HH members and were not offered a free room upgrade, but were given the choice of upgrading to a suite at the Waldorf for an additional $80 per night. There were absolutely no perks for being a HH member there!

Thanks for the replies. I had a feeling that would be the answer since they offer you to pay to upgrade when you make the reservation. Sad that they do not even give you a Disney view if available without charging more.
