The WALDORF ASTORIA ORLANDO and HILTON BONNET CREEK Information Thread

Are there any discounts available for November 19-24? Or where may I find them? Thanks so much!
Hilton Bonnet Creek has a AAA rate of $119.20 per night for those dates.

Lowest current rate at the W=A for those dates is $313.00 per night.

Best bet is to keep checking "Lake Buena Vista" at hiltonhhonors.com.

I just booked at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek and before I finished, Hilton offered assorted "eStandby" upgrades.

They ranged from a $5 Disney view, to $120 suites at the Waldorf.

You are only charged if they have the upgrade available at check-in.

Seems like a great idea!

We've done that several times at the Waldorf...I love it!:goodvibes

Thanks for posting about this. I had not heard about it yet.

Disney, are you listening?

Hi all, 1st post so here we go!
Traveling to HBC in October with Hilton Honors Points (YEH free room for 5 nights!!!), 1st time not staying on a disney property. Have read thru threads but just have a few questions if anyone can answer.

If we take the HBC bus to WDW, I realize we will pay to park at hotel and park, if we move from 1 park to another via car, will we pay 2 disney parking fees? OR if we park at Epcot, monorail to MK, decide later on to go to AK, can we use a disney bus to AK or do we have to monorail back to Epcot, drive to AK? Note we are driving from home, so will have a car with us.

Also, if any of you have brought your own tubes for the lazy river, what do you bring? Dollar store inner tube? Noodle? Any advice would be great!

Anyone else travel with Diamond member points, how do we get adult breakfast for free?

Thanks for any advice!

We took dollar store inner tubes with us. It was no problem. We are also Diamond members but for some reason it never occured to us to ask for our breakfast vouchers. I guess we were in a hurry to get to BB and everywhere else.

If you stayed at the Waldorf, they won't give you breakfast vouchers. If you stayed at the Hilton, they should have given the breakfast vouchers (Free continental with $6 upgrade to full buffet) to you without asking.

If you use the complimentary HBC bus to get to a park, you would then use complimentary Disney transportation system (monorail, bus, boat) to get from one park to another, and then take the complimentary HBC bus back to HBC from your final park for the day.

If you drive to a park and pay for parking, that parking is good for the whole day at all the Disney theme parks. Just present your receipt as you enter the parking area for the other parks.

I was constantly reading this thread prior to our visit to the WA a couple of weeks ago. I thought I would help to contribute to the thread by posting our experience and some photos. We got a great rate through Expedia for a Deluxe King room with breakfasts each day. My husband called the hotel a few days prior to check in to confirm our reservation. At that time they offered us a great upgrade to a fireworks view room because of our Hilton Honors Status. Upon arrival at the hotel we were greeted quickly by valet and took our own carryons into the hotel to check in. We were asked if we needed assistance with our luggage, but we declined because they were small carryons.

Our room was on the 14th floor (out of 15) and had a great large picture window of the pools and Epcot. We looked forward to seeing the fireworks in the evenings! The room was gorgeous, the bed extremely comfortable. My husband LOVED LOVED LOVED the huge (42 inch?) HD flat screen television with so many HD channels!! :happytv: There was a blu ray player too, and he expressed disappointment that he didn't have a blu ray disc to use with the player!

Turn down service was nicely done our first night for just one guest (I guess they thought only my husband was staying in the room). They put one robe out on the bed, a pair of men's slippers and the TV remote lying nicely on the bed beside the chocolates! The second night they figured out there was a female guest in the room, and I found a lady's pair of slippers out and there were two robes nicely laid out on the bed! We didn't receive turn down the third night because we were already in our room (they didn't come until 9:22!). We were hoping for our chocolates anyways, but they never even knocked on the door. How they knew we were in the room without knocking, I don't know. They left a card on our door saying they were by at 9:22 to turn down but did not want to disturb us. On our second day, we were gone all day so I didn't know what time housekeeping came by to make the room. However our third day we returned to the room at 2:30 and the room was still not done!! I was quite disappointed. We went down to the pool and returned at 4:30 and it was still NOT done. Finally at 4:45, there was a knock on the door and there were 2 people standing there wanting to make the room up. Quite late in my opinion. That was also the same day where we did not receive turn down until 9:22. I like that they do not use the typical large carts full of supplies and towels that block the hallways here. They pull these little black carts that they bring right into the rooms when they are cleaning.

The pools are nice and tranquil. No loud fountains, lazy rivers, slides. We enjoyed a lovely dip in the pool and hot tub at night after a day of shopping and park visiting. The pool does close at 10pm, but if you still want to swim, you can go to the Hilton for that. They close at midnight. We spent an afternoon out here too one day. It was very pleasant. A pool attendant helped us set up our chairs (a towel for the chair, and then a towel for drying off). Plenty of bar attendants around too. We were offered frozen grapes on a skewar once too...nice touch! We had nice shade from the umbrella.

We only ate at Oscar's every morning for breakfast because we had that as part of our package. We were given $25 pp vouchures to use for breakfast. We ordered a la carte for the first two mornings. They automatically put 18%tip on the bill. There is a buffet on weekends ($25 pp). We opted for this on our departure morning. It was very nice. More food than I could eat! Presentation was nice.

The workout room was amazing too. Great machines, and plenty of each. They put a bottle of water and a small towel on each machine ready for the next guest. Small TVs on all the machines too! It was completely empty the evening we were there, but looked pretty busy on the Saturday afternoon.

I thought valet service was great. However, pricey. The cost of valet daily was more than the daily car rental!!! Add on tipping every time we dropped off/picked up. But I have to admit, it was very handy! We always called down when we wanted our car and by the time we went down our car was waiting for us. Drop off was fast too. I always had someone open my door (when getting in), but they weren't as quick to do so on drop off! But we were always greeted with "welcome back" when we did return, or "enjoy your day" when we left.

My husband was so tempted by the beautiful golf course. We walked over to the club house to inquire about rates. The gentleman we talked to would not tell DH how much it would cost to play a round, citing that timing of day/month dictates the cost of a round. However he did say that renting a set of Taylor Made clubs with 2 sleeves of Taylor Made balls was $70. Hopefully DH will have an opportunity to play next time we visit!

There are two computers in the lobby area that guests are free to use. We made use of one to check in online and print out our boarding passes. Very convenient. I personally think they should offer free wifi in the rooms though!

In summary, my DH and I LOVED this hotel. We came here for an adult getaway. But all weekend we kept thinking how much our girls would probably love it here. We hope to bring them here next summer to spend a few days prior to our Disney cruise! We will probably never stay on site again!

Pictures in the next post!

Thanks for your review and treat pictures, shopgirl. Glad you had a great stay! Your experience mirrors ours last November.

We had a deal through Travelzoo for a suite. I was very impressed by the room, the convention center surroundings, the relaxing pools, and especially the service. It Looked like the maid service was in training when we were there. Looks like they need a refresher course.

I have a questions, is the coffee and tea service still offered in the Peacock lounge in the am, and do they still service have the little pyramid tea forte tea bags? I got hooked on those when I was there and I am now a tea forte fan.

Also, do they still have the fresh flowers everywhere, including the room? I sure enjoyed the orchids when we were there last year.

I am always on the lookout for another special for another stay there. We also like the Wyndham bonnet Creek in that same area, but it is a step down.

Thanks for the awesome review and pics, shoppgirl...brings back great memories of our times there...we will be back in October...I simply cannot wait!:goodvibes

Thanks snappy...I did not pay attention to the tea service in the lounge. Sorry. Nor did I enjoy any tea during my stay! However, I did notice some beautiful orchids in the hallways. None in my room. But then I didn't stay in a suite. Maybe that is a suite perk!

I hope to return next July and hopefully they will have summer specials then too! Right now the rates are far above what I would be willing to pay :sad1:

You're welcome BunnieGene! You're so lucky to be going back! Enjoy your stay!

We were lazy during our stay and lounged around drinking tea (for me), coffee (for my DH).

There is a nice patio right outside the lounge that loverlooks the pool area and the waterway beyond.

Nice clean, upscale outdoor furniture.

We did have the suite, never thought that the orchid in the room could be a suite perk.

That suite had 3 closets, a doorbell:confused3, two a/c thermostats, a subzero winecooler. It was a little overkill. I was all about getting them to bring up a coffee maker until I discovered the coffee/tea service, which by the way was only available until 10 am.

We splurged and got drinks delivered poolside one day, I think they were hurricanes. They were weak compared to what we are used to down here, but it was nice being served.

We did not have trouble with the turn down or the cleaning.

The bed and bedding were so wonderful.

And I agree the valet parking was so worth it. We tried the bus route, and although the bus was cool and comfy and the bus driver friendly, we did like making multiple stops. We could drive in five minutes what it would take an hour on the bus. I am too impatient for that. If I was staying for an extended time, it would be a different story, but that won't happen at room rates.

We were actually there during the grand opening when the governor was there and the bigwig investors. The service was impeccable.

I also enjoyed walking through the convention center. It is supposed to be the biggest now in Florida and it is well furnished. I wonder how busy they have been?

The travel zoo deal was a killer deal $179 per night for the king suite, pay for 3 days, get one day free. I doubt that will be repeated but it is worth keeping an eye out. I had never booked through Travelzoo so I was a little nervous but it worked out well. They charged me for the 4 days and did not give me the credit initially but some surpervisor came out and adjusted it once I brought it nicely to their attention.

Bell service was great!

Good location for going to HS and DD especially. Very convenient to the Epcot reosrt area as well.

We will go again!

When life gets back to "normal" soon, I'm going to update the first page and add links to your photos and review.

Thanks again and I'm glad you had a great trip!

We had an awesome weekend at the Waldorf. We had a king suite, which was absolutely great. Perfect for hosting some friends for the night, and we were able to see Illuminations from the balcony. We also had dinner at Bull and Bear which was exceptional. Can't wait to return. I'll post some pictures at some point...
