The wait is killing me! 2014 packages

I know the 2014 rates are being released tomorrow. Do you all book your room/packages that you want and then apply any discounts as they come out? Or do you want for the discounts to be released? I am thinking it would be best to book our room - we can always add discounts or make changes later, but we can't book a room if it is already sold out!

I emailed our travel agent this morning.

She'll get us a quote when she can, and we'll book.

We may tweak it a bit, hoping desperately that discounts come out. But at least I'll have the room I want in the resort I want.

I usually book our vacations on the day that the package prices are released or a day or two after. We know that we are going to Disney regardless of any discounts/special offers and I like to start paying on the vacation. Having said that, I've been able to apply the special offers each and every year even after having booked our package.

Some on the Dis do not book immediately because they feel like if the rooms are booked already, Disney won't have to release any special offers. Others like to wait and see if any special offers come out.

I'm waiting for 2014 rates to come out and it is making me grouchy!

I'm curious how Easter being towards the end of April will change prices. I really would love to be AT Disney on our anniversary. (4/4)

The crowd predictor I found (Dad's?) make me nervous though.

Anyone else dying to crunch numbers? :rotfl2: Or just me?

I was in your boat this time last year, I booked my trip this year on the day the new rates came out. Now, I only have 8 more days to wait!!!!

I can't wait to book for our November 2014!!! It's going to be more expensive than we normally do because of a suite at AOA. I need to start making those payments asap!!!

I book it on the day the packages are released and then pray and wait for a discount! A discount is always nice but I'll be going either way. I just need to book my trip so I can finally have peace of mind and start my monthly payment program!

I can't wait till tomorrow. I am not sure if I will be booking but I want to see how much it is going to cost us. I usually book our vacation as soon as we get our taxes, but I will probably book earlier this time around. I just add the discount when it comes out.

Wondering if anyone has any comments or suggestions to booking online or calling on the phone? Do you wait on the phone forever if calling? I am dying to get a quote and dont know if I can wait until after work to go online :rolleyes1

Also do you think there are any differences between booking with AAA versus with Disney itself? I have never done it but always wondered. I have always booked online by myself to have COMPLETE control ;)

I would bet tomorrow, online or by phone, the wait will quite long. The website is notorious for not functioning properly...with all the activity that will be hitting it tomorrow...:snail:

If you enjoy control (and I am all about that) - I would pass on booking through AAA. You can get a bit of a discount, but they will own the reservation. I would book what you want, then keep an eye out for discounts through Disney and call yourself. :goodvibes

There have been horror stories on the boards about uncooperative and unresponsive TA's who were not Disney specialists.

Being in control is a little more work but definitely worthwhile.

Dumb question, but do they post at midnight? Or in the AM?
:rolleyes1

We're you able to get a quote? Because it won't let me input 2014 dates

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

Will not allow input of 2014 dates yet on line.

In the past, whatever was new didn't open until 6 AM Eastern time...has that changed on recent promotions?

Yes. I was able to get a quote. Went right to the 2014 date in March. I had to refresh a few times to get quote
