For those of you who might be interested in some non-Disney parks, have a look at this update.....

Elissa and I have just returned from a really short, but really GREAT trip to ride the new mid-west wooden coasters: The Voyage at Holiday World and Kentucky Rumbler at Beech Bend Park.

All I can say is both of these rides are *GREAT!!!* (Spoken like Tony the Tiger!)

While Beech Bend is obviously no "Disney Park" being that it's a very small, family owned park, it's still well worth checking out. And Holiday World, which this year boasts 60 years and it is technically the first "themed park" is always an enjoyable place to visit.

We have a complete photo and video update of BOTH parks and coasters including a full POV of both rides.

So what are you waiting for? Go check out the updates:

Ahh, The Voyage......the reason we made the trek out to Santa Claus, IN!

The parks new dark ride is one of the first "shooting" dark rides, where the goal is actually not technically "shooting" something! =)

I have no idea what the hell I'm doing in this picture!!!

Anyway, go check out the full updates and download the videos!

Wow, those are AWESOME pics, Robb!!

I've really got to check those out sometime. I grew up not too far from there, in Clarksville, IN, just outside of Louisville, KY, and my folks still live there.

A question: Are the Rambler and the Voyage really bumpy wooden coasters, or are they more smooth? I can do the bumpy ones, but as I get older, I tend to get headaches after going on them more than twice in a row (which I usually have to do with our totally fearless, coaster-loving 11 year old!!).

They are VERY smooth wooden coasters. All of the woodies at Holiday World (Raven, Legend, and Voyage) are very smooth and very well maintained. You probably won't find a more "comfortable" collection of wooden coasters anywhere else! All three of them are very re-rideable.
