Yeah they can hurt. One of our assistant coaches played men's volleyball in college and he always hits at us. One time I was in back row and the coach told me to cover tips at the 10 foot line and the amazing college player spiked it and it hit me right in the face. The coach forgot to tell him to tip it.

OUCH! Wednesday, a girl on the varsity team(she's like 6'3) smoked their libero(she's like 5'3) in the face when she wasn't looking. It hit her in the nose and she started crying.

I am only 5'8 and an outside hitter but I am the hardest hitter on our team. =] I may not be the tallest, but I'm the strongest.

I guess if I got taught good skills I could be a good setter. They have to have good soft hands and I think I have good touch when I play recreationally. I am just not that strong of a hitter, but I am very quick.

Setting takes alot of work but I'm sure you'd be great at it!


OMG yesterday at practice, we were doing a serve recieve drill where JV served to the Varsity and Varsity served to the JV. Hehe. I served very very very good. Out of 15 serves they got maybe 7 good passes. =]

Cool, That has to be like my bestest part of my game. I like when we play volleyball in P.E.. Nobody ever picks me until last or almost last because I am so short, but I am not really that awful. =)

lol. Short people get looked down upon when it comes to volleyball because most people usually picture volleyball players as tall. I was middle but because of my height, I switched myself to outside. And plus my HS team already has 3 middle. But yeah. =]

Are you good with passing/ball control? You could be a DS or a libero.

In gym class the nets are like 7 feet tall. I got in trouble in gym class last year becuase I was hitting too hard. So the teacher told me that I couldn't jump anymore.

Well I think I could be more of a defensive specialist because I am very quick and have quick reflexes. And I like to get on the floor. I am not going to be the one to be spiking the ball that is for sure.=)

*LONG POST*

OMG! Today, we had a volleyball tournament. It was us and 4 teams. I woke up at 630, left at 645, got to the HS at 650. Our bus was supposed to leave at 715. It never got there til 725! Anyways, we get on the bus and head straight for the back because apparently its uncool to sit up front. So we get to the HS at about 830. We watch the games before us. At like 915, we go out and stretch. Then when the first games were over, we went to the court to get warmed up. I was a starter! Yay! Skip to end of game. The first game was 25-10. The second game was I think 25-20. The starters(the girls that played the first game) did awesome! In the second game, one of our OHs was doing bad so I got subbed in. =] Next game. We win the first game 25-16. A little bit tougher team but in the end we pulled out a win. In the second game again, I was subbed in for the weak OH. We lost that game. Grrr! lol. *We played four matches with two games to 25 in each so we played 8 straight games.) Ok where was I? Third game. Hehe. We gave up the first 4 points. Our coach was pissed. Then, I get up to serve. I serve 18 straight;over half were aces! =] I get pulled after my serving because the coach wanted me to rest. I was mad! lol. We won that game 25-10. :] Second game. I once again, am subbed in for our weak OH and help the team come back from a gap. It was like 15-9. We end up winning 25-21. Fourth and final game. First one was 25-8. We did great! Second game, I actually sat and wasn't subbed in! I was tired but I wanted to play so bad. We won 25-13. So, we won the tournament with the best record. 7-1. Yay!

On the way back to the HS, a car passed us because we were "going slow". Haha 5 miles up ahead, the car was pulled over by a cop! We laughed so hard and we were waving as we drove by! hahahaha! Once we got to the HS, we decided to go to Dairy Queen. So we get to DQ, got our icecream and decide to go play beach volleyball. After we were done, we went our seperate ways. I was dropped off at my house, I took a shower, came on here and typed this. =]

So I had a pretty good volleyball day!

Every year we're in this one tournament where you play 10 games at the least. It's a hour and 1/2 ride so we leave my school at 6. Last year we played 14 games. The last 2 games instead of doing hitting lines, we all just laid down on the court.

Does anyone's team do fundraising? We are selling cookiedough right now. They told us our goal is 25 each. HA! I've only sold 15 and thats all I can sell.
