The Voice: Season 2 Official Thread

I think the results from this one will show who has the best fan bases, considering none of them have been horrible so far- I think it's much less clear cut thus far than what it has been in the past. I was disappointed with Erin, but even she wasn't awful, just pitchy in spots.

I wish someone would start dressing Juliet differently- she's looking and sounding way too Stevie Nicks for me- I love Stevie, and Juliet is no Stevie. I hope Katrina nails it tonight, I really enjoy her.

Christina LOVES herself, doesn't she? She uses every opportunity to mention that she is unique/special/original..... yada yada yada..... and takes the stage to "give hugs" with her performers.

Not to mention the outfits....:scared1:

I know, Tony, Chris, Jamar and Jermaine have huge fan bases. I really like, Katrina and Juliette too.

All night long was like listening to Christina warm up to sing...you know "Me ME ME ME me me me!" Somebody shut her off, please.

The most obvious thing to me last night--Christina is really, really obnoxious and self-absorbed, and I can't stand her. That outfit? OMG, awful! And she just had to go on stage to show it off! Also really bugged me that she took another swipe at Tony but saying Adam obviously leans toward Tony but should give Katrina a chance, too.

I thought both Tony and Katrina were amazing last night. Too bad they both can't go forward. Juliet rocked again last night after a couple of not-so-great performance the previous two weeks, and Jamar was good as usual. Those were my four favorite performances of the night, but only two of them can move on to the finals.

If I had to choose between Chris and Lindsey, I'd go with Chris. And from Team Blake, I think Jermaine performed better than Erin.

I did think last night was one of the better all-around shows, performance wise. No one bombed, and other than Christina, I really enjoyed everyone on the stage.

I thought Juliette blew the house down. I don't think anyone came close to that performance and I'm not even a fan.. by a LONG shot. I AM a fan of James Brown, though.. and WOW, I never thought I'd like a woman singing that song but she changed my mind. :worship:

My next favorite was Tony Lucca, who I just love.

Everyone else was good, I loved Katrina's voice and liked Jamar a lot but based on iTunes sales and performance placement, Juliette is the one they want to win.

So what happens now, one from each team is voted off? How do the judges votes count, do they get added to the viewers or do they have extra pull?

I'm trying to remember how they did it last year, but it seems like we knew the judges' scores before it was time for the public to vote. Can't quite recall. Anyone else remember?

i didn't get to see everyone perform last night.

i AM irritated that Christina just can't be gracious to Tony. i'm not sure what her problem is, but he handles it all really well. he just smiles and goes on.

i don't think this show has done any good for Christina's reputation either. i don't know many who like her anymore.

i wish we could send through the two from Adam's and Cee-lo's teams and send the rest home. it's too bad it has to be one from each team versus the top four overall.

ITA! I thought Tony, Katrina, Juliet and Jamar were the best of the best last night. That's exactly who I'd like to see perform again next week. I've thought Adam and CeeLo's teams were far better than Christina's and Blake's all season, with maybe the exception of Jesse.

Agreed, she has butchered her reputation like mad, while the guys have become ICONS! She used this opportunity so incorrectly. I think there is serious animosity between Tony and Xtina, it's so obvious and so sad. She is a superstar and he's humbly trying to make it, what could possibly make her so bitter?

i'm sure she was THRILLED that Adam and Blake shared the cover of People. :lmao:

i definitely think that the animosity is one-sided. granted, he could be acting, but he never seems to retaliate. i would totally want to say something back. of course, he probably knows that no good would come of it. he seems mature. she still acts like she's a spoiled teenager.

Wow, the truth!

Problem with MOST child stars -- they were made important too soon and didn't grow up like people who took the hard knocks. Tony obviously had to do whatever it took to be seen, Xtina had it handed to her on a silver platter. She needs a HUGE dose of humble pie, but I truly believe that some of this narcissism is based on a deep seated insecurity. Only people who are down drag people down with them.

I so much agree with this! Before last season, I knew a few Maroon 5 songs and liked them well enough. I loved "Forget You" but thought of it and Cee-Lo Green as pretty much a novelty. Might've heard the name Blake Shelton before, but not being a country music fan in the least, I couldn't have pointed him out in a small crowd of otherwise short people or named a single song he sang. OTOH, Christina Aguilera was a household name, though I never much cared for her music.

Now I've come to really, really like all three of the guys and to really, REALLY dislike Christina. The guys have such a nice, natural, fun banter, and they genuinely seem to want to help other artists make it. I don't always agree with their choices/decisions (read: RaeLynn), but I think the male judges are sincere in their critiques and want to make their team members look good.

I read the People article and it made me like Blake, Adam and Cee-Lo even more. Blake and Adam were so gracious, saying things like "Sure, Christina is a bit of a diva, but she's earned it" and "It's hard for Christina being the only female judge" and basically saying people should cut her some slack.

Now, some of the guest artists and The Voice staff are complaining about her:

While “The Voice” is a solid hit, a couple of key staff members of the talent showcase wish they didn’t have to work with judge Christina Aguilera — who one TV pro on the show says, “takes ‘diva’ to a whole new level.”

The source, who has worked with some of the biggest musical stars on the planet, insists Aguilera “is by far the most difficult. She’s constantly demanding, never appreciative of anything and just plain nasty.”

On the contrary, an Aguilera associate insists. This source says the superstar is “a total perfectionist. Christina wants the show to be the best musical competition out there, and she won’t settle for second best. If that means stepping on a few people’s toes, then so be it.”

Of course, Aguilera’s edgy personality sometimes seeps out very publicly. While she denied she dissed Justin Bieber last week with her facial and body language, the members of the Wanted also felt insulted by Agui*lera. They gossiped about her virtually ignoring them on “The Voice” during a Friday interview with a New York radio show.

I really hope Christina won't be back next year. She's taking some of the enjoyment out of the show for me, and The Voice would be so much better without her.

it's too bad Britney is rumored to be joining x-factor. it would be hilarious if she replaced Christina.

I'm a bit perturbed with Blake this season:confused3He seems disconnected; off; and a bit confusing. It makes you wonder whether all the "gossip" you hear about his life may have some truth to it. :stir:
