Can anyone give me any insight? Is it better than the WL than the resort?
Has anyone stayed in the studios?

We're just back from the Villa's. We had a 2 bedroom and it was soooooo nice! We're used to staying in the Poly and we did REALLY miss the easy transportation to the MK and the quick walk to the TTC, but the villas size more than made up for the slower transportation.

Any specific questions?

I was curious about them.
We are going for Christmas and staying @ WL but not the villas...I checked the Disney site and noticed only villas available and just wanted to know what amenities these rooms offer that the other rooms don't.

I did a search and read that the villas are DVC's? correct me if i'm wrong :confused3

thank u for your information...glad u enjoyed your trip

Yes, the villas are DVC. They offer a wet bar which includes a microwave (and a fridge but that is in the WL room too). The also appear more spacious, partly, IMHO because instead of a second bed, it is a pull out sleeper sofa.

(On average it is 344 sq. ft. for a WL room vs. 356 for a villa)

It is a separate building than the main Lodge

The villas ammenities depend upon whether you have a studio, one bedroom, or two bedroom.

The studio has a kitchenette, while the one and two bedroom have a full kitchen. The one and two bedroom also have a jacuzzi tub in the master suite.

All the rooms have their own balcony or patio. The one and two bedroom also have a washer and dryer in a closet in the room. Great for doing laundry while you are out playing in the parks. Also I believe you get larger beds when staying at the villas or any other DVC resort.

I would have a hard time deciding between a studio at the villas and a regular room at the lodge. They're pretty comparable -- the studios having a few more amenities while the regular rooms at the lodge being a bit closer to things.

1BR and 2BR villas, though, are in a class by themselves, far and away far better than a regular hotel room.

I believe there are 1 or 2 rooms on the Villas side that do not have a balcony ? I read this awhile back. I'm staying here in a few weeks so I'll have to find out for sure. I def want a balcony.

It is just one dedicated studio - room 4533

definitely better?

if you mean the rooms themselves - yes - quieter too.

now if you are talking about the views no.

I do love VWL and love all my stays there - but it can't come close to WL for views. It has nothing like the courtyard view.

most of VWL is woods view.

We just got back from our first DVC stay in a one bedroom at the VWL. It was fantastic! The view was just woods but we loved all the space and the tub was wonderful after lots of walking!

We stayed at a 2bdrm at the WLV, and a courtyard/pool view at the WL. They are both really nice.
Whichever you get the better deal with, I'd go with that. If you get a chance of a 1 or 2 bdrm, that would blow the WL and the studio out of the water. Go with a 1 bedroom! IMO, even the courtyard view at WL wasn't worth lots of extra $. The nightly water parade was fun, but the pool area was kind of loud for nap time.
We love both the WL, and the WLV!

We'be booked our first stay at VWL in May 2007. A 1 bedroom villa - I've had my doubts about the extra expense but this post has helped me realize this is just what we need. I'm so excited to stay at VWL :cool1: .
Thank you!!!!!

Do most of the VWL Studios have woods views? Do any overlook the parking lot, or something else not so fun?

I'm trying to decide between a VWL Studio and a regular WL Woods view room for January- a studio would be a little cheaper, but I'd really like to see the new design of the regular rooms, so I'm stuck!

they give the worst views to DVC member - here is probably the worst view

however if you are paying cash to CRO - then you will get a much better room.

some even look out over the lake.
Gosh! I TOTALLY disagree with that!! No WAY do I believe they give the worst views to DVC members. We own there and have never had anything but a beautiful view.

Other than that infamous "dumpster view", the views are of the woods, the quiet pool/lake, the side of the WL, or the "woodsy brush" between the villas and the bus stop.

HTH!!

We too have only had beautiful views. We love the VWL. We have stayed at other DVC properties but our favorite is the VWL. That is why it is our DVC. We love the quietness and hominess of the villas. We don't mind that they are away from everything. In fact it is what we prefer. :cheer2:

We love the WL and VWL....We are staying in a 1 bedroom for the first time in October. I am worried though because they say once you stay in a one bedroom there is no going back!

Yup, this DVC member has always gotten great views, at VWL and BWV.

If I had to chose between a studio and a room in the lodge I would go with the Lodge room. Better views, 2 queen beds and newly rehabbed room and new bedding. :thumbsup2

if it was between a lodge room and a one or two bedroom, then I would chose the Villas.
