The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge

forgot the big thing about 2 studios - 2 bathrooms. :thumbsup2

just saw the price of 2 studios during summer either $343 per room or $393 - so either $686 or $786 depending upon when you go vs a 2-bedroom at $664 or $861....

you don't get a break at all going with 2 studios in fact it cost you more - sorry about that.

see with DVC you do.

a studio is 14 points - so $140 per studio - so $280 total.

I am sorry I didn't realize that there wasn't a price different with 2 studios vs a 2-bedroom.

you really need to consider renting points. Sorry!!! :artist:

Pat,
you are right. Has someone come up with a 'guide for first timers' kinda thing for renting DVC points? i'd rather learn that way than making a mistake on this...

This is the best warning I've seen about renting DVC:
All transactions are between private individuals as negotiated between themselves. The DISboards have no interests in any transactions, and will not get involved in any transaction problems or disputes.

I believe there's a reason why there is no FAQ for first time renters. There is no way to write down all the way things could go wrong, in either direction. You just need to do business with someone you trust, and that's hard sight-unseen.

Ok, I'm thinking about switching to the villas, studio is the only thing they have available for my dates, which are Dec. 22- Jan. 1st.
I could only book WL courtyard view until the 29th with my passholder rate at WL.

How far is the lobby, food court, bus stop/boad dock from the villas?
And if I do decide on this, which bldg./room should I request that might have a nice view...Away from the dumpster :rotfl:

The lobby is about a two or three minute walk, down a covered pathway. The food court is another three or four minutes through the lobby and down a ramp. The bus stop is actually closer to the villas than to the lodge. The boat dock is about a four or five minute walk, around the East wing of the lodge, past the geyser, and along a boardwalk.

If you are renting directly from CRO, you can view the availability on the Disney website. If you plan on renting from a member, you are probably out of luck for this December since there is currently no vacancy on points. Only a member can tell you if there is vacancy or not.

The VWL is a separate single building connected to the WL by a covered walkway and it is located very close to the bus stop - closer than the WL. Most all views are woods views, with a few having a pool view and a little view of the lake through the trees.

I will be renting from Disney directly, where they have availability for my dates.
Any room request anyone can recommend?

this site has a pretty good record - if someone had a complaint I am sure the DVC site would heard about it.

but you also need to find someone who will work with you - explain the terms and everything - and have a contract.

my points are gone sorry.

you need someone to tell your their terms should you need to cancel. their terms if you need to change your dates. and anything else you can think of...

as I say some members will give you your money back if they can rerent - others won't.

As Deb & Bill stated, the Villas are very close to the bus stop. The main WL bldg is closer to the food court and boat dock. But even still, I doubt it's more than a 7 min walk from the Villas to the dock.
