We live in Panama City just a 6 hour trip. Comming home to Kidani in 40 days! But whose counting? I am so looking forwrd to this vacation! After 5 nights at Kidani and the MNSSHP we are off to the Magic!

Haven't been around. Nice thread. We live behind the MK in the Windermere Winter Garden border area. DW a PT CM is just a few miles from her parking lot at the MK. DD also PT goes a bit further to Epcot. Makes for one easy commute on the days they work. Visit the parks pretty frequently especially when you have long lost relatives showing up on the doorstep all the time. Just shipped some out on an airplane yesterday. LOL
Now anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Lovebug whoah meant to say Food and Wine Festival.

Hello ..

There are a lot of similarities, comparing your post to ours from Sept 2008, including the fact that my wife also works at Florida Hospital - Celebration.

We too relocated to the Orlando area in October 2008. We came from Maryland. We too had purchased DVC prior to our move and wondered if living so close to WDW would diminish the magic any, and if we would be able to use our 160 points we own at AKV.

We have no problem using our points. In fact, we are able to use them better than we were before, and can stay at other resorts because of the flexibility (staying at other DVC resorts in the 7 month window) we have in being just 15 minutes down the road. We are staying at the boardwalk with boardwalk view Nov 22 - 25 and are staying at AKV savannah view Dec 20-24. We have also been able to gift a few nights to the in-laws as a Christmas gift last year, getting them into OKW back in May.

If you love the World, you will only love it more. Went to the MVMCP last night and loved it! You will too!

Living so close to the world only adds more excitment when you hear the magic words "Welcome Home".

Hi there, Naples checking in. Even though we live less than four hours away, we only go two or three times in the eight months we are down here. However, when we lived in NJ and were working, we only went once every two years so this is a definite improvement.

This year we'll be going just twice as I am trying desperately to get out of the borrow-mode that we've been in ever since we took our first trip home to BWV back in 2001. Even adding on twice, we are still borrowed into 2011. Although we won't even get close to current status, at least we won't be borrowing another 200 points for a third trip. However, we did enjoy going last May so maybe we can squeeze in just ore more tiny trip before we leave for MD. We'll see.

DVC brings out the green-eyed monster in me. I can't believe all the people who live less than an hour away and own DVC. Good for you guys! I'm so jealous, I wish I lived even closer!

Greetings from Dania Beach, FL (Fort Lauderdale). It's about a 4 hour drive for us when we factor in bathroom and food stops. We have 3 big trips every year but last year we did 5. We're 151 days out from our first trip to our home resort.
