The Unofficial Chatterbox Thread! Everyone is Welcome!

They just did a price increase this month, Happy New Year.. bleh!

I believe he said he gets 20% off single day tickets.
But I'm curious if she can squeeze in for the give a day, get a day program? (freebie!)

As a socal resident there are other deals:
The 2 fer is back for $72, get one day and go back for another day later.

For a bit more bang for the buck..
She can get a socal select AP, paying monthly $8.09.
However, the first fee is $72. :guilty:

Can't you get on E's from work?

His single coverage is free, they are covering the 20% after Medicare pays Pisses off Davita (for profit dialysis company) that it's not primary. :rotfl2:

His family coverage is way beyond our reach for our budget, yet the district pays over 50% of the cost.. which screws us for a state funded program that would be affordable.

Do you remember I said our freezing temps will get worse before it gets better? The 'worse" will be in store for us tomorrow, temp is dipping low and a fierce wind combine to make it feel like -15 in the morning. Happier news, it warms up into the 20's for the next week. :woohoo: Heat wave!! Maybe the ice everywhere will melt a bit, the side streets and parking lots are like driving on rutted country roads.. thud thud thud thud....and with the ice boogers stuck rrrrrrr rrrrrr rrrrrrr We make some ugly music wherever we go.

Minnesotans are a sturdy hale people. Bundled to the eyeballs with our nose hairs freezing, we smile and dance our way sliding across the ice to our cars. Fear not the winter, for summer will come again!

sigh, crap off to my dialysis tech duties.

Hello!

I signed up for the Disneyland Half Marathon! :scared1: What in the world was I thinking??? I so don't run. Oops, guess I better start training. :rotfl: But really, I am excited and kinda scared but I know I can finish the 13.1 miles in under 3 1/2 hours to get the Castle Medal.

Someone on another thread posted this site, it should help you plan your training. Good luck! http://www.marathon-training-schedule.com/couch-to-5k.html or this one http://www.c25k.com/

I get a kick out of watching marathons, we would walk down near the lakeshore and watch Grandma's Marathon (begins in Two Harbors to Duluth,MN, 26.2 miles) when I was a kid and cheer on all the runners. We happened to be at DL when they had the marathon, hot hot hot day, but it was exciting to see the crowds cheering everyone thru to the end. :goodvibes

I think my babies are slowly trying to kill me. I havnet gotten to sleep before 5 am for two day straight. I dont know what the heck is going on. They arent sleeping during the day, or at night. They will sleep for about an hour, and just wake back up. NOTHING is working. I have tried everything I can. Vinny wont even take a bottle right now. All I can think of is the teething. I dont know. I had a WIC appt. today, so I was supposed to take Frelan to work, and then go.. But when he got up today, and I was still up.. We knew that wouldnt work. He just took the day off. He was like.. You HAVE to get some rest! It sounded like his boss was totally okay with it. I guess they had to send some guys home on his shift, because there was no work.

I got a teeny nap in. I am starting to sleep better on the couch, then in my own bed. Things are ROUGH around here! At least I made it to my wic appt.

/
I just ran some numbers through H&R blocks tax thing based on our last pay stub of the year... WOOOOHOOOO!! Is all I can say! :cool1:

oh boy Megan! I hope they start sleeping on a regular routine again for you!:cloud9:

hmm, Noah weaned himself around 10 months, he was breastfed and never took to a bottle at all though. Introduce a sippy cup for milk and see how it goes. :confused3 The good news is that by now Vinny likely eats enough solids to compensate in loss of calories of refusing a bottle.

It was about this age that Justin became a horrible sleeper, we had to "remove" ourselves and teach him to sleep without help (Ferber method) ... at the time it sucked, we felt miserable because he was sad and crying.. :guilty: It didn't take long for him to establish better sleeping habits.

Noah has always been my more trouble sleeper... he still has episodes of waking at night. He now has his Ipod up on his bunk, so he doesn't get out of bed but a few years ago he had a few insomnia episodes where we woke up to him watching TV at 3 am  He totally gets that from Eloy who sleeps only because of good meds. :sad2:

I haven't even looked at our possible tax return this year, I'm afraid to find out. I think we will just eek by and not owe but not get much back either, I know that's how it is suppose to be. To us it's odd as we have always got a big happy return--making up for feeling pinched all year. It's sad really, his take home is about the same as if he was still on social security. But his social security benefit was not taxable.

Well... The boy is MUCH better. He cut two more teeth. He has a whopping 6 teeth now! Four on top, two on the bottom. Jasmine is slacking! She only has her two on the bottom. He is sleeping like a champ today too. I think he is trying to catch up on what all he missed. Jasmine seems to be feeling better today too. Until she fell and busted her face on the tool box that is. Now she has a lovely bruise on her cheek.

It looks like our return is going to be WAY more then we thought. It will cover our WDW vacation, and us moving.. and a few extra treats. :woohoo: We actually qualify for EIC this year.. We havent done that for YEARS. I guess having two extra babies, and losing about a third of our income will do that.

Job Description for Cats...

BATHROOMS - Always accompany guests to the bath room. It is not
necessary to do anything. Just sit & stare.

DOORS - Do not allow any closed doors ... in any room. To get the door opened, stand on hind legs & hammer with forepaws. Once door is
opened, it's not necessary to use it. After you have ordered an
outside door opened, stand half-way in & out & think about several
things. This is particularly important during very cold weather, rain,
snow, or mosquito season.

CHAIRS AND RUGS - If you have to throw up, get to a chair quickly. If
you cannot manage in time, get to an Oriental rug. If there is no
Oriental rug, shag is good. When throwing up on the carpet, make sure
you back up so it's as long as a human's bare foot.

HAMPERING - If one of your humans is engaged in any activity, and the other is idle, stay with the busy one. This is called helping,
otherwise known as hampering. Following are the rules for hampering:

When supervising cooking, sit just behind the left heel of the cook.
You cannot be seen and thereby stand a better chance of being stepped
on and then picked up and comforted.

For book readers, get in close under the chin, between eyes and book
--unless you can lie across the book itself.

When human is working at computer, jump up on desk, walk across
keyboard, bat at mouse pointer on screen, and then lay in human's lap
across arms, hampering typing in progress.

WALKING - As often as possible, dart quickly & as close as possible in
front of the human... especially on stairs, when they have something
in their arms, in the dark & when they first get up in the morning.
This will help their co-ordination skills.

BEDTIME - Always sleep on the human at night so he/she cannot move around.

LITTER BOX - When using the litter box, be sure to kick as much litter
out of the box as possible. Humans love the feel of kitty litter
between their toes.

HIDING - Every now and then, hide in a place where the humans cannot find you and ... do NOT come out for three to four hours under any
circumstances. This will cause the humans to panic (which they love)
thinking that you have run away or are lost. Once you do come out...
the humans will cover you with love & kisses, and you probably will
get a treat.

ONE LAST THOUGHT - Whenever possible, get close to a human, especially their face, then turn around and present your butt to them. Humans love this, so do it often.

Poly must have read the handbook, she just licked me, bit me and then turned and showed me her butt. She earned a foot shoving her further away from me and a scolding.

:thumbsup2

Yep, that would do it!

I'm glad that they are feeling better, bruise and all. Did your other two ever have the non stop goose egg problem? As in they would bash themselves into something to get a big goose egg, it would go away after a few days.. only to have them bash the head yet again? J
ustin did that every few days from 2 to 2 1/2 , I swore he was going to cause himself brain damage.

Running around the apartment with something on his head didn't help.
Pillow, cardboard case of coke, bucket, wrapped in TP like a mummy, .. etc. We have the pictures it prove, all you see is "coke" and a little body sticking out running around. :lmao:

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao: No.. Our head cracker is Vinny. He is ALWAYS busting his head. He will stand up.. Look at you.. then just tip over backwards and land on his head. :sad2: He is SO going to be brain damaged!:lmao:

I'm back from Canada! I had a pretty good holiday. It started a little rocky with my family attempting to plan my stay behind my back and then getting upset when their plans didn't work with mine. But as everyone got over that (including me) my holiday was great.

I hope you all had a super holiday as well, and got some much needed rest. Yeah right, like that would happen.;)

Rescue kitties are even more precious. :goodvibes
Our Poly was not socialized very well, she hates strangers and is afraid of anything black... she was the only one of her litter to survive an attack from a mink. I was miffed that MIL let them be outside unprotected after we had picked her out on a previous trip. We are very lucky to have our kitty-- neurotic-- but loved.

I was thinking about you last night as we were watching Anaheim 1. Didn't see you in the crowd. Boy that Dungey thing was a bit of a shocker, I think if Dungey hadn't slid he could have gotten Stewart at the end. I guess that's the exciting part of MX, there's always someone new waiting to knock you off your throne.
