The Unofficial Chatterbox Thread! Everyone is Welcome!

I think my babies are slowly trying to kill me. I havnet gotten to sleep before 5 am for two day straight. I dont know what the heck is going on. They arent sleeping during the day, or at night. They will sleep for about an hour, and just wake back up. NOTHING is working. I have tried everything I can. Vinny wont even take a bottle right now. All I can think of is the teething. I dont know. I had a WIC appt. today, so I was supposed to take Frelan to work, and then go.. But when he got up today, and I was still up.. We knew that wouldnt work. He just took the day off. He was like.. You HAVE to get some rest! It sounded like his boss was totally okay with it. I guess they had to send some guys home on his shift, because there was no work.

I got a teeny nap in. I am starting to sleep better on the couch, then in my own bed. Things are ROUGH around here! At least I made it to my wic appt.

 You poor thing. I so feel for you, lack of sleep is the one thing that I can't deal very well with.

I'm back from Canada! I had a pretty good holiday. It started a little rocky with my family attempting to plan my stay behind my back and then getting upset when their plans didn't work with mine. But as everyone got over that (including me) my holiday was great.

I hope you all had a super holiday as well, and got some much needed rest. Yeah right, like that would happen.;)

So what you are trying to say is you can visit family for the Holidays, but can't make it to our Ladies Only trip in February?? I see where we rank on your priority chart!lol.

I haven't been using my Neilmed Sinus rinse lately and now I have a cold! Having a cold sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:rotfl2: Well, I'm hoping to move back to Canada this year so then I'll be more likely able to join you on the Ladies trips.

Speaking of Ladies Trip, we need to start doing some planning...what about meals?

Are we going super budget or super duper budget?:lmao: Any particular meals we want to do? We have the Marriott card where we can get Pizza Hut, so that helps. Or are we just going to wing it? Do we want to bring food in our suitcases? We will have a fridge and microwave in our room.:thumbsup2

I am just bringing a carry on, so no food in the suitcase for me! Well.. maybe some breakfast bars or something. Maybe on Saturday when everyone is there we can do a lunch somewhere? :confused3 Is Sarah still going to meet up with us? Really.. I am just along for the ride! I keep forgetting that it is so soon!

I'm thinking a mixture of cheapie budget meals in the park or elsewhere plus whatever I bring from home (or grocery shop).

I have a $25 Rainforest Cafe GC plus I have the membership which nets a free appetizer with purchase of entree (or 20% off the bill). I've done shared plates at Rainforest because the portions are HUGE for many of the items. We've done one or two entrees and one appetizer as an entree for my family (no drinks) -- less than $10 with tax/ tip for all four of us after the GC. Breakfast is good too, they have a breakfast pizza that is a "must share"

I ordered a $10 gc for Pizza Hut.. but it hasn't arrived  need to bug MyPoints and see what happened.

There is a grocery store a few blocks from the hotel, not sure how walkable for distance. Or we could arrange for Von's to deliver groceries -- but not sure what to buy? Dr pepper, water, shelf stable milk for cereal?:confused3

I haven't decided if I will pay ($15) for checked bag or will carry on. I like not having to deal with a bag, I could use my larger bag and add some snackage to bring (breakfast, bars, soups.. mmm the Annie Chun noodle or soup bowls are not too bad nutritionally and taste good! I love how coupons let me try new products with no money, no loss if it sucks! LOL) .

Saturday... a meal in the park definitely! Maybe counter service style and choose based on the interest of the group? Or storytellers (never been there)? There is not much I particularly like at BB or Cafe Orleans plus I feel its overpriced. The Cove bar would be fun, but maybe the day visitors in our group will only have DL passes?

Hello Everyone,

Hope you are all doing well. :)

*Christina- I'm glad that you were able to have a good Christmas. Mine wasn't too great either (also because of family). :sad2:

*Alison-I'm sorry you are not feeling well. I hope you feel better  A lot of people are catching colds or the flu.

Two or three co-workers of mine are sick. I have been using hand sanitizer and washing my hands as much as possible (especially since we have 2 computers that everyone logs in and out of). I don't want to get sick! :faint: I have also been taking 2-3 Vitamin C gummies (for adults) each day. That and I sometimes get Jamba Juice with an immunity boost. I hope it's helping me.

My bf has a cold. He caught it from one of the pharmacist's at his work. She has a hearing impairment and won't get a hearing aid for some odd reason. She was sick and was putting her face close to others just to talk and hear them. Ughhh. :sad2: That would upset me if that happend to me because she's putting everyone's health at risk. My bf called a couple Urgent Care's in his area and they don't accept PPO. I thought that was odd. He had to drive out to one near my house since they do accept PPO. He was given some antibiotics and cough meds so I hope he feels better soon.

I did spend time with him this weekend and took vitamins and drank Jamba Juice. lol.

I seriously need to get my rump into the gym more often. It's so hard when the machines are all occupied and the gym is over-crowded. I don't like to work out with tons and tons of people. It smells reallyyyy awful! I opened the door last time and it just smelled awful because the gym was over-packed. :faint: I think it's because people who have "new year's resolutions" to work out or something, have taken over the gym.

Maybe on crowded days I should use my Wii Fit. This machine has a way of making you feel guilty...it will say: "Hmmm....I haven't seen you in X # of days!" It'll probably say: "Did you take a long vacation?" :rotfl:

*Melody- Melody it's nice to see you! You should chat with us more often if you get a chance! We miss you!

*Regarding meals for the trip- could we do one Blue Bayou meal? I'm trying to get Friday off from work but I'm not sure yet. I am waiting to hear back from HR. We had to use our vacation time for our holiday shut down. We got paid for some days but had to use our vacation/sick days to cover the rest, so I'm not sure if I have any left.

If BB is too expensive, I tried the dinner at Plaza Inn last month. They had sirloin that looked like prime rib, tasted like prime rib. It was good and it was less than $20. The mashed potatoes it came with were okay but the gravy was too salty for me. Other than that, the food had improved since I last ate there.

Job Description for Cats...

BATHROOMS - Always accompany guests to the bath room. It is not
necessary to do anything. Just sit & stare.

DOORS - Do not allow any closed doors ... in any room. To get the door opened, stand on hind legs & hammer with forepaws. Once door is
opened, it's not necessary to use it. After you have ordered an
outside door opened, stand half-way in & out & think about several
things. This is particularly important during very cold weather, rain,
snow, or mosquito season.

CHAIRS AND RUGS - If you have to throw up, get to a chair quickly. If
you cannot manage in time, get to an Oriental rug. If there is no
Oriental rug, shag is good. When throwing up on the carpet, make sure
you back up so it's as long as a human's bare foot.

HAMPERING - If one of your humans is engaged in any activity, and the other is idle, stay with the busy one. This is called helping,
otherwise known as hampering. Following are the rules for hampering:

When supervising cooking, sit just behind the left heel of the cook.
You cannot be seen and thereby stand a better chance of being stepped
on and then picked up and comforted.

For book readers, get in close under the chin, between eyes and book
--unless you can lie across the book itself.

When human is working at computer, jump up on desk, walk across
keyboard, bat at mouse pointer on screen, and then lay in human's lap
across arms, hampering typing in progress.

WALKING - As often as possible, dart quickly & as close as possible in
front of the human... especially on stairs, when they have something
in their arms, in the dark & when they first get up in the morning.
This will help their co-ordination skills.

BEDTIME - Always sleep on the human at night so he/she cannot move around.

LITTER BOX - When using the litter box, be sure to kick as much litter
out of the box as possible. Humans love the feel of kitty litter
between their toes.

HIDING - Every now and then, hide in a place where the humans cannot find you and ... do NOT come out for three to four hours under any
circumstances. This will cause the humans to panic (which they love)
thinking that you have run away or are lost. Once you do come out...
the humans will cover you with love & kisses, and you probably will
get a treat.

ONE LAST THOUGHT - Whenever possible, get close to a human, especially their face, then turn around and present your butt to them. Humans love this, so do it often.

Poly must have read the handbook, she just licked me, bit me and then turned and showed me her butt. She earned a foot shoving her further away from me and a scolding.

:rotfl: These all fit my kittens to a T. Especially the hiding one. Pearl does this all the time and we get all scared that she got out the door and then she finally come out from where ever she was and DBF and I are hugging her and petting her and giving her treats. :lmao:

:thumbsup2 Sounds like fun! Oh who am I kidding, it sounds like my worst nightmare. :rotfl2: RU sure you can't get on Ebay and just buy a medal for $10?:lmao:

I was thinking about you last night as we were watching Anaheim 1. Didn't see you in the crowd. Boy that Dungey thing was a bit of a shocker, I think if Dungey hadn't slid he could have gotten Stewart at the end. I guess that's the exciting part of MX, there's always someone new waiting to knock you off your throne.

Thought about eBay but it just wouldn't mean as much...:rotfl:

Yep, we were there at Angeles Stadium way up top in the nose bleed section. We took DBF's nefew, DBF's cousin and my brother. Hopefully it will be a good season, it's not fun when Stewart just stays out front the whole time.

In the pits I bought 5 raffle tickets for $1 each to support the Road to Recovery Foundation and I won a Shoei helmet that was hand painted by AP Designs. :thumbsup2 They said it would go for $1000.00! I had to go on stage and get interviewed and get my picture taken. I was so embarrased!

mmmm I like Plaza Inn, can't finish a whole meal by myself. If we didn't bring a picnic lunch to the park, we ate there and split two chicken meals.
Why do they serve 3 pieces of chicken plus mounds and mounds of the sides? ... hmm skip the chicken just gimme the vegies! :thumbsup2 The variety of seating makes Plaza a good choice, outside if the weather is nice to people watch, inside is kinda noisy but unique in design and has lots of BIG tables.

I missed this earlier.. that's awesome! I was thinking today.. what part of Canada?? Ya know, some people think MN is part of Canada..

:lmao:

I have no clue of the significance of it all... until you pointed out the value. :woohoo:

Wow! Congrats!

Then again, you likely would be puzzled over my own interests and hobbies. If ya ever want to talk up home hemo dialysis, autism, teaching, couponing, collecting welcome signs and Fire King or Hazel Atlas kitchenware..

I am your girl!:thumbsup2:lmao:

I've never eaten a meal at Plaza Inn. Is that the one that we had the Birthday party at?

Sarah, everybody in the house is drooling over your new helmet!!!!!:thumbsup2

Storyteller's has good food. I ate there a couple of years ago and my entire family thought it was the best meal we had at the parks.

Feeling a little better today, not great, but better.

There is no charge for one checked bag on Alaska Airlines, so I think I may bring a suitcase with food. Any requests?

Pix, do you want to go to BB for the food, or do you want to go for the ambience? If it's more for the ambience, maybe we could go for dessert & coffee?? I love their cookie boats and 2 people can easily share one.:thumbsup2

I must admit I've had a difficult time keeping my "budget" trip truly budget. I keep checking to see if rooms are available at GC.:lmao: I just love to splurge on vacations...it's the reason I clip coupons the rest of the year.:rotfl2:

Yep, but without the annoying guy and nauseatingly sweet overly dyed frosting.

Wasn't there a post in the last few months that they no longer have the cookie boat?? Something about the vendor no longer carries the sail. Or maybe it was one of the other desserts?

Ugh!
I feel yucky now, had an episode of acid regurge when I bent down to pick up something. Skipped my usual zantac today in favor of tums for some calcium... totally not the same coverage and I should have known better as I was drinking Dr Pepper earlier and had a slice of Raspberry pie..

acid and more acid..

URP, ewwwwwwwwwwww

Eloy heard me gagging and got all worried. I'm fine , really.. just popping some zantac and gargling to get rid of that taste that wants me to spew.. ugh!

Thankfully, Justin was able to help with his rinse back and bandage taping. We've been training him to help out.

Well that sucks...I loved that cookie boat dessert!

Dang girl, take some Zantac!:thumbsup2

I just went to allearsnet and they show a November 2009 menu with the cookie boat still on it. Of course they also show the wedge salad and my DD's bff went at Christmas and they now have regular chopped salad...said they quit doing the wedges.:scared1:

I forgot...
I had Eloy buy a Neil Med rinse during his last cold. He used it but whined about "feeling like I'm trying to drown myself", that was enough for me to think-- heck no I'm not sticking that thing up my nose. :snooty: But I rarely get sinus drippy colds, once year one really bad cold or flu (not the tummy yuckies that people call flu... the real I-feel-like I've-been- hit -by-a- Mac -truck -and- I -think - I'm - going - to - die flu.)
