The Unofficial Chatterbox Thread! Everyone is Welcome!

I'm going to be rude here... my BIL is a total loser, he dropped out of his radiology tech program because he "didn't like the instructor"... um what???!!! Lamest excuse I have ever heard.

He's living with his mom, but at least he has a job at the local grocery store and not completely sponging off her. :rolleyes1

Have I mentioned he's 30 yrs old?? Time to cut the apron strings and kick the birdie butt away from the nest GEESH!!!!

Yeah I'm bitter, we never got help. At age 30 we were raising school agers, struggling with E's illness ( had gone back into failure about that time) and both of us working (and E going to school full time). But we didn't sponge off of family, no matter what. :sad2:

You won't be able to activate your current cards, but my guess is you can stop into the bank and ask for a new PIN to be assigned and they can set up with your current (new) cards. I'm guessing it would require both of you to be present along with two forms of ID to verify.

My sis is always having issues managing their joint checking account.. mostly because her DH forgets to tell her about ATM transactions and they end up overdrawn.

Told her she should do online banking, no question how much is coming in or going out of the account... except one tiny problem, they both have cards with different PINs and it won't work to set up online. :headache:

See this is why I don't have a joint account! That would drive me nuts!!! :crazy2:

We have a joint account...but no problems. I have the checkbook and complete control over it, I transfer money into the savings account for DH to get his cash from, works great because there is no way he can overdraw a savings account. So, you ask, what do we do for a savings account? I have a Christmas Club account set up, only I wisely have it set to not send me a check each year. Not only that, our credit union pays higher interest on their Christmas Club account then they do a regular savings account. :thumbsup2

Do I sense a bit of hostility towards BIL??:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Different pins?? Thats nutty! We have had joint accounts for years, and never an issue. But then dh doesnt use the card unless he asks me if we have the money. I tell him yes or no, and how much he can spend, and we are all good!

Yeah, that's always the problem...when the kids are little you don't have the money to go anywhere fun. Then when they grow up you have lots of money and buy a ginormous motor home and have time to go places, but then want to stay home all the time.

right!!

We went to Shipwreck beads today.. Its supposed to be the biggest bead store in the country. I freaking believe it! That place is MASSIVE! I had such a freaking headache when we walked out of that place. it was WAY to overwhelming. I also spent like $50. :sad2: on freaking BEADS. I have no idea how that happened. Wait.. I DO. I let the kids pick out stuff so they could make necklaces...SHEESH!

:thumbsup2 You deserve a break! You have been working your tushy off!!

Apparently not, because I haven't lost a single pound.:rotfl2: I was really tired tonight, got up at 5am and went into work for 5 hours, then made 5 batches of cookies this afternoon. Guess I've got this 5 thing going on.:confused3

Anyway, I am the "Stuffing Lady" at Thanksgiving. Apparently I make really good stuffing, so it's become my job...that along with all the other cooking. But I get tired of all the men & kids running around the kitchen all day getting in my way. Since they are all looking for snacks, I decided to make a ton of cookies. I will set them on the counter and they will stop right there and never even step foot inside the kitchen.:thumbsup2

Cool! I love beads...I love artsy craftsy stores. I'm totally unartistic and hate doing crafts, but I love looking at all the stuff.

I'm beyond tired so I'm going to bed. Happy Dreams Megan.:cloud9::hippie::cloud9::hippie:

:thumbsup2 YUMMY!! I could never do that. My family would eat all the cookies in one day. We have no self control.

This store is insane! We also went to a fabric warehouse in Portland that last time we visited my mom.. I LOVE fabric stores.. But this place?? INSANE! My mom said to pic out whatever I wanted, and she would buy it for me. :cool1: I walked around like this for a couple of hours... and left with some tiny fabric panels.. :lmao::lmao: it was TOOOOO MUCH!

wow, you two were chatty and up very late last night (well late for me anyway).

We went to a Vikings/ Trailer Trash party today, bunch of E's co workers were there talking shop during the commercials. Always fun to hear of students in other grades that are just as crazy evil little turds as the middle schoolers. :lmao: They asked us if we like football.. ummm no.. we just came for the food.

We got the prize of the most disgusting but creative trailer trash treat to share. I found the recipe online (yep search trailer trash food and you will find all sorts of recipes and ideas).

An orange stabbed with toothpicks (the kind with the little colorful frizzies on the end to be more festive) full of vienna sausages cut into thirds . Put it on a circa 1970's ceramic plate that we call our "marriage plate" and surrounded the adorned orange with Ritz crackers spread with canned deviled ham.. mmm yum (gag) The cat was eager to eat it, smelled and looked like cat food, guess I can't blame her for begging.

One lady tried the cracker and went running to spit it out. Then grabbed whatever booze she could find to wash the taste away. It was awesome!

The "marriage plate" is an ongoing joke between Eloy and I, we were given a set of plates when we first moved in together. Heavy ceramic with green rings, ugly as heck. Over the years the plates broke or were tossed in favor of new ones of our choice. Down to one plate when Eloy teased that we couldn't get rid of it, or break it, or our marriage would be over. On every move, I have carefully wrapped the plate. I hand wash it very carefully and it is always at the very bottom of the stack of our plates ( not for everyday use). I pull it out to use for a cake plate or on special occasions to dress up the table. :upsidedow

Yep we're weird and we like it that way. :thumbsup2
