The Unofficial Chatterbox Thread! Everyone is Welcome!

Good morning all. Couldn't sleep and woke up at 3am. Sheesh, it's 5:30am, figured Shawna would be on here. I'm enjoying a cup of coffee and then around 6am I'm headed to Winco to grocery shop.:surfweb: I love it that they now accept internet coupons.:thumbsup2

I was going to work for a few hours today, but changed my mind. Too much to do and we are having friends over for bbq tonite. Oh and have I mentioned, I don't think there's a single spot on my body that doesn't hurt. Sitting at my desk is the last thing I feel like doing.

We are filling the pool up this weekend. I let the water run for a couple of hours at a time. We usually try to fill it on Memorial Day weekend when part of the neighbors are gone. Four of us share a well and I don't want them to be upset if they run out of water.:thumbsup2

Hello! I'm at Whitewater Snacks waiting for my food and then will head into DL. :yay:

Hello,

I went to DL today for a few hours. The traffic on the way there was not horrible, which was good. I did have to park on the roof of the parking structure though, which told me it was most likely crowded. :scared:

It was almost 2:30pm and I hadn't eaten anything. I was starving and decided to grab a bite at Whitewater Snacks. I sat outside and people watched for a bit into DCA and noticed it was busy. I did get to hear a band play (similar to Billie Hill & the Hillbillies) for a bit. :)

A CM surprised me and dropped my food on my table and had a pissed off facial expression. It startled me at first because she caught me off guard ( I was reading on my phone). She doesn't say a word, just looks pissy, drops my food down and walks away. WTH is all I could think of. Then I remember her face. Last year when my cousin had that bug on her burger, she had rudely dropped our food on the table. It was the same girl! I noticed my food is put in a box...I didn't order it to-go and my receipt didn't say to-go, so I thought that was weird but ignored that and just opened it to make sure it was what I ordered and not someone else's food. My order was half-right but part of it was not what I ordered. I show it the CM and they add cheese to my fries. No biggie...so I go back outside and eat my food. I always get a fruit tart....they are really good and I've only seen them at Whitewater. I'm eating the fruit tart when I notice a black thing sticking out of the custard. I use my fork and dig it out and it's a black hair!:sick::scared: Gross!

I go outside and find the lead and show it to him. He just acts like it's not a big deal and didn't apologize or say anything. He asks me for my card and he gives me a refund for my fruit tart. The cashier tells me to report it to Guest Relations inside the hotel. So I head over there and explain everything, mention that I did get a refund for the fruit tart but I didn't appreciate that snooty CM dropping my food on my table. The CM at Guest Relations excuses herself for a moment and walks away. Then she comes back and surprised me with a $20 food voucher (good for up to one month from now) for DL, which was really nice of her. She told me that if anything like this happens again to report it to them because they need to know these things in order to correct it.

As I was leaving the park, I stopped by the hat shop on Main Street. I checked out the art work inside and also got a pressed penny of Stitch for my little sister (she collects the pressed pennies).

I then spot in the hat shop that you can purchase custom Mickey ears. They are so cute and I only saw it in this shop. I was told by the CM that they just started this recently. Here are some pics I took:

The patches are $2.95/EA and they have all sorts to choose from. They are iron-on and can be purchased individually without the Mickey ears. I bought some to decorate my own bag. It would also be cute on jeans or a shirt/jacket. :wizard:

hey! I have a 4 day weekend :) but it is almost over. I found out I have a finger infection so I went to the ER and they drained it and put me on antibiotics and now I am addicted to facebook lol :) haha I saw Night at the Museum today and I thought it was a good movie for it being a second part :)

Awe lucky!

Sorry to hear that you had a crappy time at whitewater snacks though, glad they gave you a 20$ voucher because the hair in food thing is disgusting!!!

Also, I LOVE the create your own ears idea! I want some cool ears. Did you get one or just look?

Those are super cute :goodvibes

I didn't buy the ears but I just picked out some of the iron-on patches and bought those. I asked the CM first if I could just buy the patches and she said yes and that it wasn't necessary to build a hat to get them. The patches are $2.95/EA.

The create your own ears is cute! I hope they keep it around for a long time! It would be fun to collect the patches for a tote bag or jacket, pefect collectible for frequent visitors. They could have the patches themed for each season, year, holiday, current logo for the yearly theme.

Hopefully it will evolve into clothing and totes, along with the stitched personalization service.. so many possibilities!! :yay:

Urrggghhh!!!! I miss real stores!!! Alecia's bday is in 6 days...not sure how much shipping will cost to get stuff here in time!!! I know - i procrastinated this one big time - but I have been working like crazy!!! :faint:

Hope everyone is having a nice Memorial Day. Weeded my garden this morning and thinned out the radishes and turnips. Have a nice pile of tiny, baby turnip greens that I will mix with lettuce this evening for a salad. Then I fertilized the garden with Alaska fish fertilizer. Since I'm going organic, this is the only fertilizer I will use. But I do have to say it stinks! Phew! Had to take a shower afterwards since some of it splashed up on my legs.

Woo Hoo! 3 Hyenas at a time. We have enough for a mini-party!:banana::banana:
