Hernia?
E has this bulge thing that pops up if he leans back (noticeable above his round belly fatness). It's freaky looking and reminds us of the Aliens movies.. ewwwwwwwwww!

He had one abdominal hernia repair, but the surgeon didn't use mesh, just used his own tissues to close it. Few years later and the abdominal wall popped open again, it's like he never had the repair.

When he later had inguinal hernia repairs done he asked that the surgeon put in mesh.. I don't blame him.. the inguinal ones were painful.

They popped out after his first full fill when trying peritoneal dialysis (a tube is placed in the lower belly, you instill several liters of dialysate liquid into the tube.. drain out after a few hours. Repeating several times per day or use a machine at night to auto fill and drain. It uses your own peritoneum, it's the lining that covers your organs, as the dialyzing membrane.).

Where does an inguinal hernia pop out, you ask??
In most cases it's one side of the groin.. in E's case.. it popped out lower...

He had ummm a big package. :lmao:
It was freaking hilarious at the time, E was not quite as amused.

Nope.. not a hernia. Just the normal wear and tear from carrying around almost 14 pounds of human inside me.

:lmao::lmao::lmao:I would die laughing.. Seriously!

Hello Everyone,

Just a quick post. I haven't read the thread much at all. I hope you guys are doing well. I'm feeling a lot better and talking to you guys has helped me greatly. I appreciate and am thankful for all of you guys :grouphug:

Last night I went to Cost Plus to look for a throw pillow for my room. I moved a leather chair into my bedroom so that I could have a place to sit and read. I went to Home Goods over the weekend but couldn't find any good pillows there. The pillows Cost Plus were pricey- $12.99 ~ $19.99/EA.

I decided to design my own pillow. I went to Walmart and bought an inexpensive pillow, found an image I have as a wallpaper on my iTouch and resized it and made it into a pillow. Here's pics of how it turned out:

My co-workers told me it's cute and all asked how I made it. :goodvibes Just wanted to share :)

This makes me sad, not for you but for my friend. She has a four month old baby and her and her husband are trying to hurry it along, make it grow up faster. They've been trying to feed it from a spoon since it was three months old and then it got really upset stomach aches so they stopped but now force feed the baby water throughout the day so it doesn't get dehydrated causing new digestion issues. They also hold the baby upright on her feet and try to make her walk. She's four months old, she can still barely hold her head up, she can't crawl of even roll over let alone start walking!

I want to just scream at them but it's not my business so I say nothing.

That's so sad...My DGD is just 6 months and she just started getting water and solid food. She was reaching for our utensils and glasses before DD21 even asked about feeding her.....babies grow up so fast, there's no need to push them. DGD does try to walk already tho, that girl...LOL She holds onto your fingers and takes a few steps, but mostly she holds onto your fingers so she can dance. :)

OMG, those babies are ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!! I've been sort of lurking but had to post because of these photos, what precious babies you have!! all 4 of them! Love the hair too, my girls have streaks in theirs, one has red the other has blue. :)

I would say get a 3 bedroom, let the 2 babies share one, let M & A share the other one (they are young enough it won't be a big deal). In a year or two then put the two M & J together in one room and A & V in the other.:thumbsup2

Cooper went down in pant size this summer. At the end of last year he was wearing size 14 regular. When we went school clothes shopping he needed 12 slim or 14 slim. 14 regular's were literally falling off of him. Think it's because he was way more active this summer. But he tends to do that, chunk out for a bit and then shoot up and get skinny.

BTW, when we were at Kohl's school clothes shopping with him we had a bit of a run in with the dressing room attendant. We were in the boy's section and had DS trying on clothes. I took DD and her bff with me (both 17yo). He went into the dressing room by himself, but would come out and show us what he was trying on so we could make sure it looked good and fit good.

Well along comes this male clerk who looks at us (all standing OUTSIDE the dressing room, with armloads of BOYS clothing). He tells us that this is a boys dressing room and that we need to go to the ladies section because we could make the male customers uncomfortable. WTH??!! I told him my son was trying on boys clothing and he said that maybe we should take him to the ladies dressing room with us. WTH?!! I said, he's 11 and I don't know what your problem is, but he will be using the boys dressing room! We aren't shopping for ladies clothing today, only boys clothing for my son. He said, well some men are intimidated by women in their dressing room. Again WTH?? I said, this is the "little boys" dressing room, "mens" clothing and dressing room are clear on the other side of the store. There are doors on each stall, it's not like we are peering under the doors hoping to catch a glimpse of a 10yo in BVD's!

Seriously, there were other mom's standing around, in the stalls with their sons, etc... Honestly, there was nobody over about the age of 12 even in that section. I bet the average age of kids in the dressing rooms was about 6! I'm thinking about sending them a complaint about their new Kohl's Dressing Room Nazi's!

Nope, haven't seen True Blood. Not my kinda show, I like warm & fuzzy. But I'm guessing it's something my DD would watch.

Seriously?? I would complain, there was NO way you were making anyone uncomfortable. But it would make women uncomfortable if your DS was trying on clothes in their area!! Sheesh, that's why they have dressing rooms in different areas. I wonder who peed in his Cheerios that day?

Good morning.

Sad news...we had to return the little gray and white kitty last night. When we got her last Saturday she was sneezing all the way home. We took her to the vet on Tuesday and he gave her some medicine for an eye infection but after a week she still had runny eyes and nose and was still sneezing and now the first kitty had started sneezing too so we decided to take her back. When you pay $400 for a cat is should be in good health right? We are still deciding if we want to get a 2nd kitten again. Pearl had fun playing with her but we may just stick with one.

Oh poor kitty!!!! I hate it when my furbabies get sick.

The vet compared it to pink eye in humans. So far Pearl is doing okay.

I'm glad she's OK now.

So I've been trying to "get the feel" of the thread here. It seems as if it's just a thread to talk about life and what's going on. I'd love to join in! :)

Hiya Pixie Wings! Welcome to the thread. We're just a bunch of Disney nuts that chat. Many of us have met in person and met up at DL. Our thread used to be a lot busier, but not so much lately. Although we try to chat as much as possible. Nice to meetcha!:)

Dang! Just heard on the radio that part of the city I work in is out of power due to a heavy equipment operator damaging some poles and lines.

Unfortunately, my office still has electricity! Just my luck!!:lmao:

you must work online. I teach university and classes haven't started yet, so I've got a bit of free time . . . .soon to become extinct. Hey, do you know much about renting villas from DVC members?

Hop in and enjoy the tamer ride of the hyenas  as Alison posted.. we use to be quite a busy chatty thread...now we check in and give little updates on life.

:cool1:Hi. I'm a newbie and you guys looked safe to practice on. Just wanted to try a post.

Hello!

----------------------
Cute pillow Pix!

No power outage here.. but there is in other parts of the metro.
We had a river running down the street for awhile, watched dorky people hydroplaning through the intersection while I worriedly watched the clouds.
Tornado touched down near downtown Mpls! Sirens went off AFTER the damage had happened. Then a long line of storms plowed thru, setting off multiple warnings, sirens off an on for over an hour. Tons of rain... now, sunny and calm.

I love good storms!! We dont get many here. Mainly just icky drizzly rain. But I love it!

Storms coolness, tornado with violent down winds not so loveable when they uproot mature trees and cause flooding. Police are going door to door in one Mpls neighborhood to evacuate due to a gas leak.

Let's see if this works....

Because of the types of trees we have here.. they have really shallow roots and blow over easily. Every time we have a wind storm there are trees down everywhere.

Cottage Grove, MN (outer ring suburb) funnel cloud.

Flooding in Uptown area of Mpls

We have lots of mature elm, oak, maple. Trees that are 50 years and older, where they make that lovely arch of green over the street in the summer. The neighborhoods that were affected in Mpls is a well established area, homes that are 50 to 100 years old.

Cottage Grove is a relatively new suburb.. it was rural and in the past 30 years has grown to include neighborhoods with large family homes, planned community tracts, businesses, etc.
