Good Morning Ladies and Gents. Hope everyone has a wunnerful day.:):):) I'm off this morning in search of birthday present for DS. He wants a guitar, I have no clue about guitars, but luckily DH's cousin is here visiting and her daughter plays guitar. So her daughter and I are going GEEYTAR shopping today.

I have two guitars...... no one plays them. :headache:
One was my grandfather's and the other I bought for less than $30 shipped online (Musician's Friend .com). I think they are both student size. They were horrible out of tune due to moving and storage. The father of one of N's friends tuned it up, he said they were good. I have no clue on what is good or not... to me the purpose is to sit and collect dust in the closet.

Well I have become attached to shopping at Aldi's now, yes the coupon queen finds better deals GASP without using coupons! I will likely still do the deals that net me free/almost free items but the regular groceries (milk, meat, dairy, frozen vegies) are a much better deal at Aldi's.
Less choices, means less chances to buy junk too. :thumbsup2
Though they do have a lot of frozen processed junk...gee how did that large package of frozen creme puffs get in our cart dear? What? Whadday say? Can't hear you :rolleyes1

Well we got a guitar for Coop. It was $100. We started at a pawn shop that deals strictly in musical instruments. DH's cousin's daughter was a great help and narrowed it down to about 5 guitars. She sat and tuned and played each one so we could listen to the tone. Eventually had two left, one was new and the other was used. It was a toss up, the used one was probably a better quality, but was definitely more worn. Since it was a birthday present, we decided on the new one. The store owner called the Guitar Man next door and told him he had a brand new player, a child, getting a guitar for his birthday, so they offered him 2 free lessons. The guy at the store also recommended that I go to a music store and get a children's beginning guitar book (did that), since DS was in band this year and can read music, he thought he would be able to self teach somewhat. Also, my 17yo nephew plays guitar and Coop will be going to his house on Wednesday to get some tips and pointers.:thumbsup2 I must admit I'm very excited too...I've always wanted to play guitar too and I can hardly wait to learn also.:thumbsup2 DH kind of wants to play guitar too...so hopefully with 3 of us interested, it won't become a dust magnet!:lmao:

So I take it Aldi's doesn't take coupons. No worries Coupon Queen...I too shop at a store called Grocery Outlet. They have odd brands, dents & dings, overstock items, etc...But sadly, no coupons. Still the deals are awesome. Recently they had medium size jars of Skippy PB for $1.29. Of course I always walk thru and wish they took coupons, I could get groceries for free everyday if they did!:rotfl2: Their nearest competitor is Winco and they regularly post Winco's price to compare and there is no way I could get that price, even with a coupon.

Of course I have bought a few items at Grocery Outlet that were strange...bought a case of Del Monte canned corn and I don't think the corn got cooked enough...it was still crunchy. I also bought several boxes of Rice a Roni spanish rice (my favorite!) and they were missing the spice packets.:lmao: Not a problem though, they have a 100% guarantee, so I took them back for a refund and they even gave me a 10% discount that day on my entire grocery order for my inconvenience.:thumbsup2 You can bet I loaded the cart up that day.:rotfl2:

I really miss Alex on mornings like this...nobody to talk "coffee" with.

Wish DL would fit into my budget right now. Still paying off emergency room bills from my last adventure.:rotfl2:

Did a 6 mile hike from Lucia Falls to Moulton Falls today with my neighbor. I'm going to be so beyond sore tomorrow.:lmao: It was very nice, quite a bit of rain, but the trees blocked a lot of the rain. It's an area that has a lot of trails with nice views of Mt. Adams. So I'm going to start on the easy trails, get familiar with a few of the loop trails and then work my way out to the more difficult trails. Did I mention that my legs are starting to stiffen up this evening? :lmao:

Oh and at Lucia Falls I got to see two salmon leaping up the falls. What an awesome sight to see.:thumbsup2

mmm salmon yum.

Your hike sounds lovely. :goodvibes
We went to a local park and had a picnic on Sunday.
We've only grilled a handful of times, bit of a learning curve to get best results.
We decided next time to do chicken, burgers were okay but very messy as the grate had wide spaces between the bars.. lost 1/2 a hamburger to the fire.

E tried and failed to dialyze two times in a row. :headache: Having issues with his access again, darn it!
He called the hemo nurse on call last night, got a call back from his clinic today and he is scheduled to go to the hospital this afternoon.

Don't know the details .. maybe a revision (surgery on his access arm to open up the flow of blood) or placement of a permacath (IV catheter placement into his chest, tunneled under the collar bone and placed into the vena cava) .. or maybe both.

He needs to dialyze tonight regardless, or he will get very sick from the extra fluid build up and pukeness from the toxins.

He's had the same access (AV fistula) since his diagnosis 13 years ago, one revision and two angioplasties (ballooning to push it open). Pretty good as many people can't make it last that long or have to get a new access placed. He has a few choices if a revision doesn't work: move up his arm (above elbow) for a new site, put in a "fake" vein/artery , place an access in his leg using the femoral artery (YUCK!), or stick with a permacath long term (not best choice: increased chance of infection, body image issues, not as good quality of dialysis).

We shall see what happens today. :flower3:

Egads!! Hopefully it will be an easy fix!!

Hi all!

Megan, that sounds creepy about the bug!! :scared::scared::scared:

Sarah, I PMd Pix, but have not heard back from her. I am worried about her! :guilty:

They did a fistulagram , x ray with dye , found a small stricture where they ballooned it open. Went home to dialyze AND

It still didn't work! ARGH!!!!!

Back to hospital tomorrow for a perma-cath and new fistula.
He's bummed because there is no sick pay during summer school. He would rather be working , even with what he calls his "bratty kids" in his classes.

Oh yeah, got home and his DB called. Asking to cosign a student loan....... Ummmmm? Don't you get financial aid? Or a subsidized stafford loan? He gave some vague answers and said he wants "an extra cushion"

Thankfully DH said sorry can't help you. He feels bad , brother and all ya feel like you should help , but we also would like to recover from our own debts before we can help. ( besides any loans where family is involved tend to not go well, cause bad feelings)
I wish him luck. And hopefully he can find what he needs. Be it a well paying job, scholarship or loan.

Change of plans, his doc and nurse asked him to come into clinic for one last try. The dialysis nurse went digging and managed to get a good stick.
Hurried back home, started dialysis. Working but..... not as good as it should be. :headache:

Running very slowly, taking 4 hours to finish (typically it's 2 hrs and 20 minutes). Very touchy spot, like the needle tip wiggles into a good area and it's fine, but if he tapes the tubing down in his regular loop style.. the needle wiggles into a bad area.. setting off high pressure alarms. ARGH!

He feels like he can't move at all for fear of having a problem... it's not suppose to be that way!

Calling back and forth with the nurse, he's puzzled over what to do next.
At least he's getting a run done, he was feeling icky this morning.

Ooh yeah that is a tough one. Dh has a rule where we don't lend money to any family because it usually ends badly. I'm more of a softy though and would probably have a hard time saying no. I feel bad for people too easily I think.
I have been burned so many times by my brother and he's not even 30 yet, so I would never lend him money again but other family members it's harder for me to say no.

mmm salmon yum.

You bring the lemon garlic butter and I'll bring the fishing rod!:thumbsup2

Yikes! Hope they can get it all figured soon. Oh, and about the park bbq, bring your grill rack from home. Put it over the big grill at the park.:thumbsup2 Then things won't fall thru.

Have you ever noticed the only family members that you would ever consider loaning money to never ask for a loan?:lmao: Enuf said!
