Good morning! I just wanted to complain about the weather to start my Monday properly.

It's currently 3 degrees. Winds of 23 mph. Bringing the windchill to -19.

Yay winter!

Someone want to book a cruise with me?

Oh, I am so with you. I was supposed to go to my support group this morning. No stinking way. I would have had to be on the bus at 8:30 in the morning. I don't think so. It was less than 20 degrees outside at that time. Right now it's 23 degrees with a windchill of 6... My car is iced into my garage so it's not going anywhere.

Had to go buy another pair of Yaktrax yesterday just so I can get around. They go on your shoes and give you extra traction in the ice and snow.

Down with winter!

Hi, everyone! Wow, I've missed a lot since I was last on.

You should definitley pick up a dangerous activity- skiing, snowboarding, surfing. Then you'll have plenty opportunities to be saved!

I would just like to vent for 2 seconds: Pacific Time is so annoying when you live in Eastern Time. Like really. I was up by 8am and wanted to call DFiance.. well it was 5am there. Really throwing me off schedule.
Anyone wanna come visit me in FL? There's tons of room at my house!

I think I'll take up snowboarding. It looks like so much fun. I'll be sure to wear a white ski jacket, too.

You poor thing! Keep warm over there. You definitely need to go south for the winter. I put two Caribbean cruise tickets in each of the goody bags from Honu's party. You can go anytime! You even could go tomorrow if you can pack quickly enough!




Honu- Keep warm over there in Washington. My poor freezing Unicorns sisters! Take your cruise tickets and head straight for the cruise ship's dock!!!! I'll send some hot snow shovelers over so that you can get our of your house.

That's terrible that you got hit by a hockey puck!! I'm glad that you were OK. I'm sure that the hot paramedics helped to make the experience at little better.

I'm glad that you were OK during your bus ride. I hope that they turn the heaters on inside the bus.

Hey there! I'm freezing my butt off and drinking my slurpee. Watchin' Jon and Kate plus 8. Why? I have no idea...

Did not have a good day. I finally found out that the MRI films I sent two months ago to Houston to the neurosurgeon, never got there, that's why I haven't heard from him. Sigh. So I had to furiously run down to the bus stop in the snow and ice with my last copy in hand and deliver it to the UPS store so it could go out over night. Grrrrrrrrrrr.

How are things going for you?

I so know all about the whole time difference thing, only I go the other way West to East coast. My DBF lives in Jersey and another one of my really good friend's lives in Boston so I constantly have to calculate the lastest possible time I can call them. I'm use to it now, but at first it was crazy. I loved calling my parents on NYE one year from Key West because I already was celebrating and they still had 3 more hours... ha ha ha

I've been hit tons of times by pucks, the worst two I got hit in the liver with one and bruised that, then the second one bruised my lung. Yup, the hot paramedics made it better that's for sure!

Did I ever tell you about seeing Radek Bonk who used to play for the Ottawa Senators naked in the shower? True story... That was a different tournament.

I'm glad that you were OK during your bus ride. I hope that they turn the heaters on inside the bus.

The bus was nice and warm, of course though I'm very well prepared. I dress like Nanook of the North.

I had purple hair when I went on my last WDW trip. It was really cool. It wasn't all purple, it was just purple streaks. But it looked awesome! I think I'm going to do it again just before surgery. That way I can bring my unicorness with me to MD Anderson.

Thanks! I guess we'll never know what happened to them. I sent them priority mail and I've never had a problem with that before. Things have always gotten to where they need to go. So after two emails and 5 phone calls, I finally found out. I've been waiting for 2 months to hear something! It cost me an extra $30 to send it out overnight, but if I get this guy's opinion it will be worth it. The bad thing is that unless he decides to take pity on me, into the pile I go so it could be another month or two before I hear anything. Kind of maddening since I sent them an email a month ago asking if they had received the films. If I knew they hadn't gotten there, I could have resent them sooner. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

So, how's everything going with Jon, Kate and the family? I've only watched that show a couple of times. It was fun to watch their trip to Disney World.

They went on a ski trip today and took presents over to St. Jude hospital. I don't normally watch the show, but since dancing with the stars is over... There's not much on TV on Monday nights.


I'm doing all right. I've just been preparing for our trip......doing laundry, making calls, doing a little research...etc.

Where are you going again? Laundry is boring, calls and research can be fun.

I'm watching Mystery Diagnosis. Seems to be pituitary/adrenal problem night. Very interesting since that's some of the same problems that I have.

It was so nice when I worked in Key West for FEMA in 2005. There was no laundry at the hotel so I had to have it sent out. I had a guy who would do it and fold it and everything. I was so spoiled!

It was heaven... I made some really awesome friends down there that I still go back to visit. In fact, that's where I met DBF. We worked together for a month. Neither one of us are big drinkers so we essentially had 30 nights of dates before we realized there was something there. When it came time for him to leave I was crushed! I didn't want him to go. I was so ticked at my co-manager. It was DBF's last night there and he was going to take me out to a totally nice dinner at this fancy Italian restaurant. Just the two of us. She insisted on tagging along and since we're both nice, we let her come, but he paid for my dinner and not hers! Because he had promised to take me out. It's OK though because I was still there for NYE and he took me out to a real nice dinner then, just the two of us...

I ate them out of Key Lime Pie. I ate it all the time. I love it! Blonde Giraffe rules!

If I could wake up to McDreamy, I'd be on That man is adorable. Of course the last time I woke up from surgery, I thought my ortho was hot and he's short and about 90 years old! Must have had something to do with the anesthetic...

Yes, I've still got Dr. Z. I'd go to LA just to see him. Too bad I think he's married. I know he's got a kid which totally knocks him out of contention. Not to mention, he is my doc, which throws a kink in the works. But, a girl can dream! And the things I can do in my dream are way better than I could ever do in real life!

Why is it that men seem to get cuter with age? I don't understand it. Patrick Dempsey, Pierce Brosnan, they all look better with age.

Yup, I like that story. It's a good one. All the other guys were giving him a bad time because they'd go out and hit on all the girls and he wouldn't, so on the last day he looked at them and said, "How many of you are going home with a girlfriend?" It was too cute!

Yeah, my poor co-managed was completely oblivious.

I could eat Key Lime pie all day, every day. It's so good. But I like it with the graham cracker crust better than regular pie crust.

Blonde Giraffe is the best Key Lime pie place in Key West.

Morning, Unicorns! Sorry I've been MIA. Since school is out, I've been working a ton to pick up Xmas money! I am anxiously awaiting my grades-posted tomorrow at 1! I know what I got in Spanish- a C. Not great, but I hate it but I need to take 3 semesters. My first c ever was in the first semester! This is my second one!

Honu: glad you got your stuff sent although it was probably the stupid doctor's office's fault. Boo.

I am pooped. This week my students have exams (not really exams, more just like tests since they're only in elementary) but they're stressed out which stresses me out!

Paint: so happy you're done with your semester!! Oh Spanish. My mother was a spanish teacher (even taught me in high school). However, I didn't inherit her ability to speak Spanish. I sound ridiculous and can't remember how to say anything. Just recently I spent the night at a hotel on my way to a friends house and I brought her cat (don't ask- she left it at my house). So the cleaning/bed making people came in just as I was going to get breakfast. The really sweet woman who was going to clean the room didn't speak any english but I wanted to know there was a cat in the room, just so she wouldn't freak out and he wouldn't escape. I tried to tell her there was a cat under the bed but it came out "My cat is in an oven!".........
