It's been a rough year for a lot of people here on the DIS, between natural disasters, family crises, and problems at work, isn't it time to get away from it all?
And what better place and time to do it than Disney during the 50th Anniversary Celebration?

The magic begins with a simple postcard that comes in the mail. It's sent in an envelope so it's not damaged, and it shows Sleeping Beauty's Castle at Disneyland, all decked out for the 50th Anniversary!

That's right, you're going to start your trip at Disneyland, where the magic all began 50 years ago!

You'll check in at the Disneyland Hotel, where you find you'll be staying 3 nights and the friendly hostess gives you your 3-day Park Hopper pass with Donald's 3 Days of Dining Plan. This gives you unlimited access to both Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure for 3 days, one character breakfast, one breakfast in the park, 3 $5 food vouchers, 2 $10 food vouchers, and 1 $15 food voucher.

She also tells you that you have reservations for the Walk in Walt's Footstep tour of Disneyland. This guided tour will take you around Walt's original park, pointing out some of his dreams and visions for Disneyland and taking you into the lobby of Club 33 for a tantalizing glimpse of this exclusive club.

As you enter your concierge-level room with the enchanting view of the Neverland Pool, you find a 15-inch plush Mickey Mouse sitting on your bed wearing a pair of Golden Mouse Ears! These ears, made especially for the 50th Anniversary, are like the usual mouse ears but golden in color and with a 50th Anniversary patch on the front. Folded on his lap is a Happiest Homecoming on Earth T-Shirt in just your size and placed gently on top is a pin featuring the Mickey 50th Anniversary Logo and the mouse himself. In front of Mickey is a jewelry box which, when opened, reveals a Disneyland 50th Anniversary Mickey Icon Watch.

Enjoy the next 3 days of fun at the Disneyland resort, but make sure to leave one night open for a wonderful dining experience at the Napa Rose. The Napa Rose features specialty dishes sure to tempt any palate and has been rated #1 in the Zagat survey for four years running.
