The Tucker Twins pre trip report....updated with pics and more excitement 23/4!!

I am LOVING this pre-trip report! I also have twins. They will be eight years old in May. They are boy/girl however. ( I also have a boy 14 months younger) We are going in April for their sixth Disney trip!

:tigger: Hi everyone! I have been very busy at work so I havn't posted for a few weeks, but here is a catch up of our pre trip plans! Well, recovery room is certainly getting its fair share of pixie dust, what with my lovely towel animals 'popping up' here and there, and the paediatric bay being decorated (by Sim and I) with large disney princess princess: and pooh wall motifs. Hehehe, well at least it helps us to think of disney while we are at work. Our new lime green crocs that we bought a few weeks ago are also pounding the floors of the operating theatres, in an effort to 'wear them in'. There has also been a new development to our trip!!! Our work friend Sue and her best friend Jane are coming along too!!! The Aussies will be invading Disney!! Sue taught Sim and I at University when we were doing our Nursing Degree, and we ended up working with her in recovery room. Sue and Jane are both lots of fun and will absolutely LOVE Disney I am sure. Sue went to Disneyland in the late 60s and loved it then, and talked about wanting to go to Disney World one day. Sue recently had a health scare and when she heard that Sim and I were doing a Disney trip, she decided that life is too short, and that she really wanted to go too!! So Sue and Jane are staying at the Contemporary as well, and we have already had a planning day with them on the weekend, where we gave them all of our Disney wisdom! So it will be a great experience to see Disney through the eyes of 'newcomers', I can't wait for them to see what it is all about! We have decided to make us all some lime green t-shirts with a map of australia and tinkerbell waving her wand, saying 'Pixie dust from Australia'. I Will post the picture of it when we have completed it. Hurry up May!!! :wizard:

I too have twins, a boy and a girl. We are going to wdw the same time you are, with your newly designed shirts I'll give you a wave if I see ya.

I just found your pre-trip reports and the are fantastic!!!

Congrats on your nursing masters.

Also, the PJs are adorable!!! Dos anyone know if they are available in the states or online. I would love to get them before I go to WDW on 2/27!

Have fun counting down!!!

Kristi

I just love your pretrip. I love the pic of both of you in scrubs. too adroable.

I am so impressed you are flying that long. I would freak. LOl.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments, I am glad you are enjoying our pre trippie! I will be sure to keep it up! So, on to the update! Tuesday this week saw both my parents go up to the city (Melbourne) which is about one hour from our suburb, for a routine heart stress test/health check for those in their 50s. So since Sim and I were off work for the day, we jumped at the chance of a little shopping up near the city. We got Mum and Dad to drop us of at the direct factory outlets, and you would never guess what we found!! In one of the popular Aussie t-shirt shops we found a HUUUUGGGEEE pile of disney T-shirts for $10 each. We were SO surprised because we just don't EVER see disney T-shirts here, and have to either buy them online or in DW. There were white ones with minnie, mickey and other characters, short sleeved fitted tinkerbell ones, lumier glittery ones and more!!! We got a whole load of them because as well as being cheap, the fabric was very high quality! We also got one each for Sue and Jane (who are coming with us...see previous post), and we are going to send them the t-shirts via the mail from Mickey Mouse hehehe. We are going to include some single pack tissues with disney characters on the packs (Kleenex ones that I found for $1.50 for a pack of 15!) and a little note from Mickey Mouse, saying that he can't wait to meet them (hehehehe yes we ARE adults...but hey, we can have fun too!). So Sim and I were so excited from our unexpected Disney find that we went to starbucks for a celebratory skinny cappuchino and a muffin! So it was a good day out, now I just need to find myself some bathers, Simone got some great bonds ones, but they had sold out so I need to find some! I have picked up more shifts in recovery room this week, so I will be busy softening up my green crocs, which have actually just been BANNED in theatre?????, because people keep tripping up on them as they are so non slip..... HELLOOOO, thats why they are so good!!!!!! They will have to crocodile wrestle me to get mine though!!!!! And seeing that ALL the theatre staff (apart from a few oldies who are not croc converts) have them, I don't think they will be able to enforce the ban....I think it is up to you if you wear them, and if you hurt yourself in them, you won't be covered by 'workcover'. SO I WILL BE WEARING MY GREEN AND PINK CROCS STILL:thumbsup2 Anyway, just off to have dinner with my friend to celebrate her son (who needs major surgery in the US, at Johns Hopkins? Hospital, for a procedure that is not done as much here as in the US) being FINALLY given over 200,000 dollars to fund the surgery!!! They really deserve it as they have been desperately trying to fundraise the money, so their son can have the major surgery that he needs. So we are off to celebrate the fantastic news!!! Will post some pics tomorrow of recovery room, showing the lovely flowers that our friend J (who works with us) sent all of us in recovery for helping and supporting her through all of the stress she has been going through trying to raise money. See you all soon!

Hi Rach

I'm from Melbourne too. Can u tell me where the DFO and the shop in which u bought the t-shirts, i would love to stock up for my trip in Sept!

Thanx
-Erin

Hi erinstar! Sim, Rach's twin here....the Direct Factory Outlets or DFO are in Grange road Cheltenham. If you go to DFO.com.au you can get the map details. The shop we found the tshirts is called Giordano and there was a table full of different designs. Well as Rach said, we are pretty much ready clothes wise for our trip, hopefully it will be hot because I have only bought summer clothes....better grab a few jumpers and long pants just in case! Still need to get all my bits and pieces though...including my sanitising kit:rolleyes: You see, being a nurse I am a little paranoid about cleanliness....so I like to take my bleach wipes, disinfectant spray and a few handy pairs of disposable gloves from recovery to give my hotel room a little clean. This it the first thing I do when I get to my hotel room, Rach laughs and teases me about it but really she is likewise a little germaphobe in disguise:rolleyes1
We are still mulling over our tshirt designing....I think maybe we can use the tshirts we bought at the factory outlet with mickey on the front and add an Aussie graphic on the back....I have one which I like but can't reverse the image to put on the transfer paper....so back to the drawing board to come up with another idea!!! Well thats my bit of pre disney update for tonight....must settle down now, my precious pomeranian Daisy is getting impatient and wants me to snuggle down in bed next to her....she as a matter of fact as tiny as she is takes up most of my queen bed!!!! She will no doubt have a rude shock for the 10 days I am in disney and she has to sleep in her grandmas room because she is so used to sleeping with me every night. My poor mum and dad will have Daisy and Holly (Rachs dog) sleeping with them when we are away, last time they said the littlies snored so much they had trouble sleeping. he he he:dogdance:

Thanx for that Sim. I might check out where there are other Giordano stores coz i live not too far from the CBD.
HEHE about the cleanliness, being that u are a nurse i'm not surprised and if it helps u get piece of mind thats great!

Happy trip planning!

Hi everyone.....I think it's about time I updated our trip report!

Simone decided this week that she would like to see Fantasmic:wizard: at DW. We saw in in Disneyland, where we did the dessert buffet package, and it was fantastic! Last time in DW we didn't see it, and Sim recently heard some good reviews about it, so we decided on a whim to cancel dinner at Chef Mickeys and book for the Fantasmic package at the Hollywood and Vine buffet. We emailed concierge with the request and they are in the process of sorting it out for us. I was pretty impressed with how quickly they got back to us after we emailed them the planning itinerary form. We hope that they can also organise the magical express too!!!
Simone also purchased a great (and cheap!) print shop program that you can design T-shirts on. We had a design that we wanted to use, but needed this program to be able to edit it properly and flip it so that we could print it onto transfer paper. Sim made the T- shirts tonight, and they turned out great! Here is a pic of the design we did
tshirt2.jpg

and here is the t-shirt front (the t-shirt is the one we bought from the factory outlets...see previous post).
mict.jpg
We are going to put some glitter paint on them to make them sparkle:wizard: , so will get that done tomorrow!
We are going to do another design on a pink t-shirt too....stay tuned for that one coming soon!
Only 2 months and 2 weeks to go YAY!!

Hehehehe......just looking at some pics of our trip in 2005 and thought i would share my favorite one!! This was taken at Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party.....we met up with some nice twin boys called Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum....what a great match!!!

While I'm on a photo posting roll here, I will include some foodie pics of some things that we can't wait to have again......first are the cinnamon rolls from MK bakery......they were devine!!!!!!! Don't get anything that good in Aussie land!!!
DSC00858.jpg

and next, the yummo sandwiches (or sangers as we aussies like to call them).....no vegemite in site here......they were delish, and we are planning on stopping there when we arrive!!!

Ok....another update!!! Well, I have planned a special surprise for Sim while we are at DW.......it was extremely hard to get, but the wonderful Larry in concierge at CR pulled it off for me. It will be fantastic, and I can't wait.....Simone knows I have a surprise planned for her at DW, but I have told her that she won't find out until easter! She is going mad trying to work out what it is hehhehehehe! I can't put it on here at the moment either, because obviously she will read this and find out. So everyone will have to wait to hear what I have got planned! On another note, concierge have been FANTASTIC in helping us plan our ADRS etc. I initially didn't think when we booked concierge that we would use the planning service much!! It has been so good! Saves us getting up in the middle of the night to call the US and book things. I am really please and think that it is definately worth the money already!!! Anyhow, I am looking forward to easter so that the secret can be revealed and I can ask questions and talk about it on the dis boards!!

WOW- you have quite a travel day coming up!

Yay for Lush products! I just got the Big shampoo while in orlando, I love it! (Karma is my favorite, though!)

What kind of sandwich was that? It looks yummy!

Hi WDW Poly Princess! That sandwich was from the Earl of Sandwich at DTD...can't remember what it was though! I think it was the original (the one with roast beef and cheese). I remember that it was yummy though!!! By the way, I love all your trip reports!!! :thumbsup2

Hello there!! As Rach said in her last post, she has organised a surprise for me at WDW!!! I thought it was strange on Wednesday night that she was up late on her computer and she was working very early the next morning!!! She is ALWAYS in bed and asleep early when we are on an early shift in recovery the next day!!! So that I thought was weird. Then, as soon as we got home on Thursday night she went straight to her laptop in her room which she never does when we get home following a 12 hour shift, normally it is into the shower and grab some dinner and a glass of wine!!! So that was another thing I found to be odd. Then her and Mum were snickering and she was giving Mum the thumbs up, Mum then commented that I had a surprise waiting for me that Rach had organised for our WDW trip!!! So, Rach has told me she organised it through concierge, it was apparently hard to get and she didn't expect to be able to get it at all. It has cost around the $200 mark, it will take place on the friday we are in WDW, and our two friends from work who are visiting WDW at the same time will be involved in it too???? I am wracking my brains trying to figure it out. I pressed Rach all day Friday whilst at work in the recovery room trying to get her to tell me what it is and I had great difficulty concentrating on my work....I swear my patient with the knee arthroscopy had a blood ooze on the dressing in the shape of a mickey head:earsboy: !!!. But alas, Rach won't budge!!! I have tried to get her to give me hints..... NOTHING. I have begged and pleaded for her to tell me NOW, I simply cannot wait until Easter it's all toooo much excitement!!! I can't sleep for trying to figure it out!!! I am scouring the Dis boards trying to see if I can work out what it is! If anyone has any ideas.............and Rach if you read this TELL ME NOW!!!! Or you may find your Holly dog missing in the morning with a ransom note:dogdance: !!!! ha ha ha.

Wow, wonderful beginning on your Magical journey! I too, have twins...two sets. Fraternals and identicals. I sure hope they get along much like you and your twin sis do as they grow together! Enjoying your trip report!! ::MinnieMo

Wow Disneytwinz, two sets of twins!!! You are very lucky:grouphug: Anyway, just a quick update to say that I am STILLLLL trying to guess what my surprise is!! I think it is an illuminations cruise as that is around the $200 mark, is fairly difficult to book and can include up to like 10 people for that price. However Rach says I'm COLD. But I'm not sure if she's bluffing or not. GRRRRR this is SO frustrating:scratchin .Or, maybe it could be something to do with Cinderallas castle as she keeps talking about that for some reason????
I love surprises but when you know you have one and have to wait till EASTER!!!!! It's all a bit much to cope with. Hopefully she will cave in and tell me sooner PLLLEEAAASEEE:worship:
Anyways, in other news we are starting to buy a few things every week with our shopping for our trip that we need so we are not buying it all at the last minute. So so far, this is what we have:
Shampoo and Conditioner.
Bleach/disinfectant wipes (for my cleaning obsession as posted earlier in trip report)
glow bracelets
hand sanitiser

still need to get a LOAD more stuff though!! Our suitcases will be jam packed!
Oh yeah, I also just bought a lovely small, nifty new video camera which I got a great deal on...it was the demo camera in the shop and they threw in 2 batteries and 2 tapes and a case, bargain!! So now I just have to practice using it so it doesn't come out like the last WDW video....zoom in, zoom out, wobble, wobble. So now I have a brand spanking new digital camera and a video camera to capture our wonderful, luxury 'going all out' Disney trip. I so can't wait to get there, wish we were going NOW!! We have so much we want to do and see and EAT!! And, we can't wait to see it all through the eyes of our friends Sue and Jane who are on their first trip. Well, thats all for today mates! I am pretty much spending all of my days off work on the Dis...BLISS:goodvibes Just can't get enough of Disney at the moment. See you soon.

Ok, Rach sort of gave me a hint today about my surprise. She says it has something to do with cinderellas castle! So, all I can figure is cinderellas royal table as that's really all you can do there...right?? Although, she says it's not got food involved (unless she is bluffing). So, that's my latest guess!!! What do you all think?
