We have a ressie for the T-Rex Cafe at 7:15 on December 16, thats a Wednesday. I have read reports that you really have to wait for your table even with a ressie, for a long time. Is this true? Do they "double-book"?

I would guess they do the same as all Disney restaurants. You check in at the podium and then they call you as soon as a table of your size is available. It could be a short wait or it could be longer depending on how the other guests eat at the restaurant.

We ate lunch here today. We didn't have an adr but the people behind me did. There was only a 15 min wait without an adr and the people with a ressie had to wait with everyone else to be seated. The people who were working there said they were waiting for more servers before seating anyone. They were seated as soon as possible. We ate at CP. The other night with adrs and had to wait longer than that. It shouldn't be too bad for you. They seat people as soon as they can usually. We really liked T Rex

We have reservations on 12/16 at 7:15 also! We've never eaten there before so I don't know what to expect for the wair time.

We had reservations for a sunday 2 weeks ago. We really didnt wait although they do make you go through three diffrent lines. Ribs were good if you like ribs.

We waited about 10 minutes. I liked the food DD and I shared that huge appetizer sampler with the ribs. The ribs were so good. I didn't really care for the room we were in...I don't know the name of it but it was during the ice age and it had a very bright neon glow that changed fr4om pink to blue. I wanted to be in the room next door (Sequoia?) but they were closing that section for the night.

We didn't even have a ressie and walked in within 5min. this past June! I had just told dh to forget it since we didn't have a ressie. He walked over anyway and started waving me over from the podium! Reminds me...must have more chocolate extinction!!!MMMMM!!!!

We ate at T-Rex on Black Friday. The place was packed. Dozens of people were waiting for tables and by the looks on their faces, many were waiting a very long time. I am assuming that those people were walk-ups, though because we had an ADR for our party of 8 and were seated within 10 minutes of checking in.

We loved T-Rex. The food was much better than I expected. I had the 1/2 roasted chicken, someone else at our table had the pork chop (which looked so good I had to taste) - both were really tasty.

I'd recommend you keep your ADR.

The "usual" procedure at T-Rex is to have the outside desk open to check in for reservations, and walk-ups would wait at the inside desk. The outer desk is not always open, especially during slower times. It's possible that things get unexpectedly busy and without the outside desk, reservation-holders get stuck waiting in line with walk-ups.

I had this happen to me last September, and a manager explained what had happened. At the time, she said they would make an effort to ask for reservation-holders if there was only one line and it got long. Let's hope this happens - otherwise, what's the point of having a reservation, even if it is only a priority seating?
