The Trippie Who Hath No Name, or, the trippie that'll be completed when I get..

I'm having truoble naming this TR & I need your help-you can pick up to 3:

  • "The Trippie Who Hath No Bacon"

  • "The UNDisney-est Vacay EVER!"

  • "Setting out to be the Longest Running Trippie on the Dis....with STYLE!"

  • "NEVER Invite People Wut Doesn't Wants to go..."

  • "COVER YOUR EARS! Did she REALLY just say that??!??!"

  • "How to hate your mate in 7 easy days..."

  • "The BEST way to stay friends with your friends is to NOT spend time with them while on vacay..."

  • "Food Porn - not on THIS Thread!"

  • "Other" [submit your own title]

  • "This trippie Who Hath No Name" [the sentimental favorite]

Sadly, Kimmar Threads are like crack... you know you should do it, but after a little taste you just can't stay away. :lmao:

And we'll be here for 2 years waiting for her to finish ... IF she finishes... :rolleyes1

Well now looking back she did say there were no guarantees of a final episode. So I guess the ending is the hotel?:confused3

:tiptoe:

I'm jumping the gun here....and completely outing myself as a blab!

Kimmar is probably at this very moment trying to work out how to alert us all that her post count is at 55,555.

She can't post....or she will no longer be at the milestone number...
She can update a previous post...but none of us would then know....
She only realised after the fact....(she must be sick!)

So, I thought I'd do the community thing and share the news.

Number Fives are Alive at 55,555!

Go Kimmar! :cheer2: :cheer2:

It's only another 11,111 posts until the next milestone of 66,666 (I think this is one of those Chernabog Numbers....but I'm sure one of you will correct me).

If the post count is never broken we will never know about this TR. Kimmar you need to decide.:cheer2:

Post number 55,556 had better be taking us to a Disney Park.....

You hear us, Kimmar? P-A-R-K does not mean that you park this TR on the shelf!.....YET :)

Well it could be they got as far as the parking lot and this is where everything is parked.:rolleyes1

I think I'll park myself right here until she comes back...:surfweb:

....wow, with all this chatter on my trippie, perhaps I should let Y'ALL finish it....:rolleyes1

....well, I thought it was momentous.....kinda. :snooty:

...besides, I was busy sending all my 'friends' PM's......

...do NOT read the next post until COMPLETELY finished, 'k ;) ?

Day 2 - Can you say 'H-A-R-R-Y P-O-T-T-E-R'?

....everyone is anxious to leave the condo and head to a park (as are many of my trippie readers! ;) ) so, we were in our vehicles and driving along Route 4 on a Sunday morning by around 8:30. The A/C on FULL BLAST, it promises to be, yet again, another day of weather not unlike that of, ummmm, I dunno, THE EQUATOR. Already parked in the ET section of the lot, we made our way along the moving walkways [some of us more quickly than the rest of us - TRANSLATION: my DH and DS were practically KNOCKING OVER the innocents who were standing on the moving walkway, rather than going-with-the-flow...doesn't that just defeat the purpose of the 'moving walkway concept'?]

Tickets in hand, the gathering crowd directly in front of us slowly made their way through the turnstiles/entrance to IoA - yes, the World of Harry Potter was in our crosshairs, as was the REST of the parkgoers'...as we walked/ran/hurried through the Port of Entry [BTW ~ that background music was vaguely familiar to that of AK, but that's just MY opinion...] and approached the area of the Confisco Grille & Backwater Bar, we almost committed a 'theme park faux pas' [insert maniacal music HERE
lightning.gif
dun-dun-DUH-H-H! jumping the drop rope! [ hey, in this dog-eat-dog world, a visitor's gotta do what a visitior's gotta do...] Notice that I specified almost - the IoA workers (I'm sure they're not called CM's, right?) were vigilantly 'on-guard' for anyone who had ideas not unlike ours of simply bypassing Marvel Superhero Island, Toon Lagoon, and Jurassic Park by making a right turn here and essentially eliminating 'the competition'....no such luck, though; we needed to show them our US room keys [which, of course, we did not have]....so, like the rest of the disillusioned masses, we turned left and hurriedly walked beneath The Incredible Hulk ride which was already forming a small crowd....since my DS's GF Alexis had never been to US/IoA, he was prudent in thinking that we were not going to get a chance to relive the fun of The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman ride, so they began to walk a bit more slowly (trust me, with MY knees, that wasn't too hard to fake!). Within minutes, all we could see were the tops of Ron's and Jean's heads - we stopped, took a pic on the opposite side of the street:

....and quickly crossed and made a beeline straight to the facade of Spiderman....mere moments later, our trio was already seated together on this awesome ride, with that giddiness from the feeling like we were doin' something naughty (oh, did I say 'awesome'?? I meant, for all you WDW diehards, 'mildly-amusing' ride...)

Anyhoo, once finished, we quickly tried to catch up to the rest of our party, who was already on the ever-lengthening queue of the Harry Potter ride - we chalked up our sudden lagging to my penchant for constant photo-taking [*wink* *wink* - and I'm trusting y'all to KEEP our lil' secret SECRET! ;) ]....okay, so Jesse and Alexis snaked their way through the line to look for my DH [and company] while I entered the locker area to lock up my belongings safely inside one of the thoroughly confusing rooms filled with countless lockers [I REALLY hate this locking-up-all-your-belongings part! ] I finally met up with the rest of my crew near the arboretum area....I must say, I was really impressed with the authenticity of the effects - at times I almost felt like I was actually on the set of HP...

....this ride TOTALLY ROCKS! OMG! US, without a doubt, spared no expense when they dreamed up this baby....the only negative I can say about this ride was that it did break down twice, and one time we were almost upside down stranded there, feet dangling, in mid-air.....I'm not sure, but I don't think that THAT was part of the 'special effects' ...finally finished and now off, we made our way to the gift shop, where we were happily greeted by:

WDW_2010_Mystic_Dunes027.jpg

...and just for a split second, I actually thought the feathery 'lil guy was REAL - that is, until I spied the stitches in his beak...and noticed that his feathers weren't feathers at all, but FUR, and fake fur at that...

...we totally by-passed the Flight of the Hippogriff ride and wandered off towards Ollivanders, but there was at least an hour wait to get in....

WDW_2010_Mystic_Dunes028.jpg

.....WHAT??!?! An hour wait just to look at some stupid wands??? I wouldn't wait an hour on line to enter a store if it was December 24 and I hadn't started my Christmas shopping yet!!

...the intense Florida heat was really beginning to get the best of us, and, since we were standing right next to a cool, covered, ice-filled cart [we just kept 'borrowing' ice samples], we decided to purchase the pumpkin juice and butter beer [BTW ~ it's neither butter NOR beer...which, of itself, may be a good thing!]- wow, were THEY tasty! Unfortunately, it did almost nothing in the way of quenching our thirst, so we opted to run for cover and sought the serenity of the cool shade inside the castle of the Dragon Challenge. Well, it WAS dark but there wasn't nary a smidgeon of a gentle breeze, or even a possibility of a waft of air-conditioned coolness anywhere to be found (can you say s-t-i-f-l-i-n-g??). In fact, I believe it could be closely compared to a child-labor-law-breaking sweat shop in a third-world country....

IMG_2232.jpg

....to make matters worse, the 'Wait Time' sign evidently must have changed after we crossed the entrance. It originally had stated 25 MINUTES, but we suffered in that h&ll-hole for more than an HOUR! What was I thinking??? I'd LIKE to say that, at least, the coaster ride was worth it, bu-u-u-u-ut.....

...well, we eventually made our way out of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, but not before clicking one last memory...

....and traipsing past Poseidon, Sinbad, and other heroes of yore:

So, they won't let you cut thru Suess Landing normally??? We lucked out and got early entry with our package, so we were able to go right to HP. We didn't even have to stand in line long enough to see the greenhouse - almost ran thru it. Not fair that they make you walk all the way around. :headache:

AND

We have that Hedwig in DS9's room right now. It is SOOOO COOL!!! :lovestruc
