The trip where the surprises kept coming

Sat 14th Feb Day 1
We left the car and wandered into the park for EMH heading for our usual first EMH ride- Peter Pan. We rode it twice and then Dumbo, Teacups, Carrousel and Pinochio. All the time Charys kept saying I cant believe Im in Disney. We then headed over to Discoveryland to do Buzz with DH winning as usual.
We then decided to go to our favourite breakfast place in the park Cable Car bake house to get some Pain au Chocolats, Mickey Brioches and hot chocolate.
We then decided to go and wait at rope drop for Frontierland to get FPs for Thunder Mountain. We stood near the rope at the secret passage entrance with a handful of other people but at 9.50 we saw people had been let through the other way. The CM hadnt noticed so we pointed it out to him but he just kept looking at his watch and saying it wasnt time. Eventually another CM came out so we pointed it out to him and he let us through. Im not sure what happened if it was a mistake by the CM at other entrance or if they had decided to let people through a bit earlier. Anyhow DH queued for the FPs and we got 2 lots as usual. We decided we had time to do another ride before our time slot so as Phantom Manor was closed we headed across to Pirates. This is where the lack of sleep hit me. We got to the end of the ride and I suddenly realised Id not been aware of the camera flash or even the drop. Yes Id actually fallen asleep on the ride the lack of sleep combined with the heat and gentle rocking of the boat had sent me to sleep and of course DH had to take a photo of the ride photo to prove it.
We then headed back to Frontierland to ride BTM (our favourite ride where we always become very silly and yeeha, scream and shout a lot). As usual it didnt disappoint and we were glad of the 2nd FPs to do it again. As we were getting off the ride DH found some FPs on the floor of his carriage. They were about to expire so we thought we might as well use them as they had obviously been dropped so we managed a 3rd ride.
We decided to head over to the studios to have a look round. As it was Valentines Day there were lots of Meet and Greets with characters together so we joined the queue to meet Mickey and Minnie together.
We did Animagique, Flying carpets and Cars. As we came out of Animagique there were lots of characters hanging round including Timon. Mr Smee, the Racoon from Pocahontas and Friar Tuck.
We decided we were hungry and tired so decided to head out of the studios and go to Annettes for lunch before trying to check in at the hotel. We were surprised that there was a queue at Annettes but it didnt take long before we were seated upstairs. We had another lovely meal there weve never been disappointed yet. I will post a review on the restaurant thread.
We wandered back to New York to collect the car to go and book in at Holiday Inn. We were looking forward to seeing what this was like now it had changed to Magic Circus Hotel and we were not disappointed. The room was lovely- I will write a fuller report on the hotel thread and had a few extra touches to previous such as bath robes, a large bottle of water and a plate of petit fours. Im not sure if this was just because it was Valentines day or if it is standard now.
DH settled down for some sleep, DD wasnt tired as shed slept most of the journey so pulled the curtain round her bed area and switched on her TV to watch cartoons in French. I was tired but decided if I slept now I would feel worse so got Wifi access and did a bit of chatting on DIS (as usual)
After freshening up we headed back into the park again parking at New York. As we were going through the lobby area we saw Goofy all dressed in white with 2 other people in white giving out red roses for Valentines day. I managed to position myself to be able to get one just before they headed towards the restaurants a nice touch I thought.
As we walked alongside the lake we saw the balloon and decided it would be nice to go up in it in the dark last time we did it was during the day. It was really good and we enjoyed picking out different landmarks and places we recognised.
We wandered back into the park and saw Pocahontas and John Smith in the band stand having official photos taken.
We headed down Mainstreet to the castle to watch Candlebration which was as wonderful as ever.
We then cut through the castle dungeon into Fantasyland stopping to say hello to the dragon of course and making sure he was securely fastened up.
We rode Small World and then Pirates (twice) this time I managed to stay awake. As we sailed past the restaurant we commented about going there the following day for lunch (knowing full well we had the Auberge booked as a surprise for Charys)
We then headed over to Frontierland where we rode BTM I love this ride at any time but even more so in the dark. Charys and I then decided we wanted to ride it again so we did it again while DH waited for us.
We just had time to go to Market House Deli for a Croque Monsieur (Mickey Pizza for Charys) before the park closed.
We strolled back to New York amazed at how much we had done apart from a short rest in the afternoon we had done 14 hours in the park after travelling all night. However the evening wasnt over as we called into the bar in the New York for a cocktail We just had to try a glowtini- yum yum
Charys was desperate to get back to the hotel as wed told her we had another surprise to give her there. We got back to the room where I produced the Cinderella dress I had sneaked in from the car and we told her she was going to lunch with the Princesses the following day-(surprise number 4) she was so excited.
It was then into bed a bit of DISing later and we were soon all asleep ready for the following days surprise.
