Who:
Me: 34 (mom)
DH: 36
DS: 9
DD: 7

When: Dec. 19-23 (two days of park tickets)
How: driving from Tennessee
Where: All-Star Sports
Why: We've never seen the World at Christmas
What:
We took our second family trip to WDW this past June. We stayed at CSR this time and CR two years earlier. My DH, who is as much a Disney fanatic as I am, decided we need to go this Christmas. I agreed, of course. We then decided to keep it a secret from the kids which has been hard, but it will be worth it to see their faces when we tell them.
This is our first trip at Christmas, our first stay in a value resort, our first trip that's less than a week long, and our first time to surprise the kids. It is a trip of firsts.
I pride myself in meticulously planning our Disney trips and this one is no different. I have had a little bit of a challenge with this one because it is such a quick trip and we only got two days of park tickets. I would appreciate any advice or comments once you read my plans.
Day 1: Leave as soon as school is out (1/2 day) and drive as far as we can. My DH and I work in the school system, so taking the kids out of school is kind of a no-no. That leaves us to work around school schedules and we need to be home for Christmas Eve, hence the quick trip.
Day 2: Drive to Orlando and check in to hotel. I know the room probably won't be ready so we plan to go to Downtown Disney to check out the shops and decorations. Later that evening we have ADRs at 1900 Park Fare for a character dinner. We will check out the decorations at the monorail resorts before heading back to our own.
Day 3: Early EMH at MK so we'll head out early and spend all day there without a break. We usually take a mid-day break, but that's in June and when we have longer. We have ADRs for dinner at Whispering Canyon.
Day 4: Our day at Epcot which is our favorite park. We have ADRs for Coral Reef and the Candlelight Processional. This is the late EMH at Epcot so we'll have more time at our favorite park!
Day 5: We check out this day. We have ADRs for breakfast at Boma at AKL. We will go to Downtown Disney for our last bit of Disney magic before heading home.

Wow, your itinerary sounds pretty full. I don't think you need to plan much more. The only thing I could suggest is going on the mono-rail and checking out the Ginger bread house at the Floridian, and you said you will be eating there one night.

At Fort Wilderness you could do the free movie and campfire on your 3rd night.

any trip is a good trip short or long.

I can't wait to hear about yours!!!

(we are also in the school system here but we don't get out until the 22nd this year :guilty: )
