To answer your orgianal question: we are BLT owners and just bought this April. One June 2nd I called and got a studio Lake view for Sept 7-9, no studio or 1bdr MK were available. We plan on going in Aug of next year so you'd better believe I'll be calling at 9am 11 months out...

Hope you get better real soon. As for your question, we are not owners at BLT (SSR owners and bought more points recently) but just last week called and got a studio with MK view for 2 nights in October for MNSSHP. I was really surprised at this and so was the CE

Ha Ha Ha! Sorry, yours was the post that got me to finally get around to answer. Actually, I had surgery last week, and I have been in and out of conciousness {did I spell that right?, oh well} I have been answering some other e-mails and letters and stuff, and have just gotten around to getting back to this thread. Information I was gathering was suspect?, Hmmm perhaps your right.
Actually, we purchased 50 points at the Towers (we have been DVC members at OKW since it's inception with 300 points} and we just wanted to see how easy, or hard it would be to even get into the Towers, even if we had points there. So far, we found out, through numerous searches, and contacts, that the Towers are filled up right through the end of the year, and I was not able to make any reservations at all, which we really suspected would be the case. We had thought that the economy was still bad, and no body was buying points or going on vacation, which is obviously not true. There are a LOT of people still going on vacation, although if you listen to the Orlando visitors bureau, you wouldn't think that!
Regarding the original question of the thread, we were simply wondering how many folks were able to get into the Towers that both HAD, and HAD NOT purchased points there.
Here is our dilema. When we first purchased DVC w-a-a-a-y-y back in the beginning, it worked really well for us. Because of our work situations, both my wife and myself had to make our vacation arrangements on very short notice, not a year or 7 months ahead of time. Which worked really well for us with the DVC. Having said that, as years went by, and there were so many more members, it became impossible for us to make these kinds of vacation arrangements. You had to do this way ahead of time, { yes, I know, there is the wait list, but even that does not work for us,as our time off is not that flexible} and this just does not work for us.......... I'm going to continue this later. The meds are kicking in, and I'm correcting far too many typing errors. Gotta nap now.

We too own at BLT (just 30 pts)....staying 2 nights in Oct (on our borrowed points) just to try it out. When we were at BWV in May, they had the "offer in the room" of up to 40% off at studios ....we ended up adding a Friday night for cash at BLT.

Have lake view for all 3 nights & can't wait!

We own at SSR & called right at 7 months by hitting redial till MS opened. Our trip is 12/30 - 1/04 in a 1BR at BLT. I managed to eventually get every night except 12/31 & even though I'm on a waitlist, I doubt I ever will get the 31st. I keep hoping & praying though!

I'm going to expand on my original question a bit. How many folks are just DVC members {at any resort} that are staying at the Towers, and how many actually bought into the Towers and are using those newly purchased points? Folks that have already posted, feel free to post again regarding this info. Thanks

We have been DVC Members since 2001, home resort is Boardwalk. We are staying at Bay Lake Towers next week (Monday-Thursday, 8/24-8/27) in a 2 bedroom.

I'll chime in. We own SSR (152 pts) and BLT (160 pts). We'll be staying at BLT on Thanksgiving and the next night (can't remember the dates) and then off on a cruise. It was quite a bit of hitting redial the day they opened. I think it took me about 2.5 hours to get through to be put on hold for 30 minutes. Ahh, the things we do for a Disney fix.

We've been trying to get our first three nights moved from Kidani to BLT, but no luck so far.
