The Timeshare Store timeline

Yes we just went into ROFR 10/6 so I'm thinking we should know by 11/6. Our broker said everything should be closed by the beginning of December barring anything funky ;)

I have been waiting for closing documents on a contract I am selling.

It is supposed to close on or before 10/15. Obviously that's not going to happen and nobody bothered to tell me until I followed up yesterday. I was told I would not be getting the closing papers this week.

I was really disappointed with the communication (or lack of) through the process with this contract. If I buy/sell another I will probably look to use a different company.

I guess I should be glad I am not on the buying end of this one waiting to use the points.

Do you have to wait to get your member number in the mail or can you call the accounting department daily after the deed was recorded to try and book?? I'm sorry I'm just so confused what the correct answer is lol!!

Just as another data point...new member here. Closed 10/14, new account set up at Disney on 10/21, received DVC letter 10/27. Then called MS and was given credentials for the website without issue.

I was planning on waiting 10 days once we were showing on the OCC site to call and ask nicely for our number- I couldn't resist calling early so I called at 7 days- member accounting gave me my member number and transferred me to IT/member administration- they DID NOT give me my log in info since I had no points loaded (the lady said since I bought resale this could take a MONTH). The next day I tried again and talked to administration (I think thats what its called) and nicely explained that I had my member number and just needed my log in info- I was honest and told her that the previous day they wouldn't give it to me since no points loaded. I also said I didn't want to annoy them and call all the time which is why I wanted my log in info, points or not- and the AWESOME person gave me my log in information! I tried logging in as a new member and it didn't work- I called back and the lady told me that since I have a MDE account already set up with the email I provided DVC I had to instead go to the part that says LINK a membership- that worked! Your log in will auto default to your MDE log in info (password and all) once you put in the activation code- I logged in yesterday (now 8 days from closing and recording) and still no points- but I could check availability. Today I logged in and BAM points loaded and I was able to book our trip!!!

Also this was a resale contract and I am a new member to DVC.

So- I honestly think it depends on who you talk to and when. I admit being able to check availability and not book since I didn't have points was a bit self torture for that one day.

Have not received anything in the mall yet from DVC

MDE? What is that?

Sorry guys, I have read through this 500 times and am hoping someone could just clear things up for me.....

Once we officially close....when could I get my member number and begin searching on the DVC online site? Do I get that immediately or do I have to wait to get it in the mail? When cal I call for that? I know nothing is garenteed but I am looking for ballpark times!!

this waiting game is TORTUREEE lol!!!

You can start calling at 10 days after closing, select option 3 from the phone menu, and ask for your member number. Most people seem to get into the system between day 10 and 14.

Thank you so much for responding... And once I'm "in the system" will that mean I can browse the dvc website? And will I have to wait additional time until my points are loaded from when I get the number?

Once you get your member number, they should transfer you to the department that can set up your online access. You'll need your Club ID and Activation Code. If they points aren't already loaded, it could take 4 hours to 3 days for them to show up.

Getting real annoyed at Brenda from Magic Vacation Title. She doesn't reply to emails (has ignored emails both from us as the buyers and Jerry from TSS). Our sellers were taking one last trip ending November 5, so we had a delayed closing scheduled. Sellers returned everything before their trip. When they got back Jerry confirmed that everything was set for closing either Friday or Monday, Tuesday at the latest. It didn't close, so he emailed Brenda, who finally responded and said it was closing yesterday. Now here we are on Thursday and Brenda is saying "within 24 hours." Her lack of communication and inaccurate information is getting on my nerves. I let Jerry know for our next contract I do not want to deal with Magic Vacation Title.

Aug 22: sent for ROFR
Sept 19: passed
Oct 22: received closing documents
Nov 13: Found out we finally closed at 4:58pm

I am in a similar boat but I am selling. I have used TSS to purchase 3 times and was very happy with my previous purchases.

The communication these past couple of months was nonexistent unless I pursued them. This was with both TSS and Brenda.

I only found out all the paperwork was finalized because I looked on the OCC website and the points were gone from my account.

When I wrote asking when we would receive our check I just got a "closed yesterday. Checks in the mail" reply - still waiting.... I will really rethink things before I use them again.
