The tiers really make Epcot look bad

I agree that Disney has changed the feel of Epcot, but I still get the same things out of it that I always have. I spend almost my entire day at Epcot in the World Showcase. I usually spend at least 2 days in Epcot, as well as a few other dinners.

Wow, I don't get the lack of love for EPCOT. It is by far our favorite park other than MK. We love the mix of rides, food, shopping, live entertainment, education, cultures etc. In fact we usually alternate with DL, and when we do for the last few years, DD (now 8) says the only thing she misses from WDW is EPCOT. It is a 2 day park for us (but I hate having to pick Soarin one day and Test Track the other- we usually at least repeat Soarin both days, and sometimes Test Track). We put EPCOT far above either DHS or AK, although we love all the parks. Well, I should say, I love all the parks. DD and DH aren't big on AK.

We spend the same amount of time there as you if not more during vacations. When we stay in the Epcot resort area we feel weird if we don't enter the park every day.

I'm not saying I don't like it there, I love it there and still do despite the lack of love Disney shows it. I'm saying that I disagree with the idea that anybody who thinks Epcot needs rides misunderstands what it's really about. Disney themselves don't understand it then, as they seemed to think it was necessary to add attractions and characters.

Mission Space ties in to the "Future World" theme. Test Track did when it was first implemented. Love Soarin', but that was clearly a decision made to cash in on a ride that proved popular in California - probably belongs in MK. Sum of All Thrills seems to fit with the Future World theme.

Not sure what, other than Soarin', doesn't fit with the theme. I get that the characters "don't belong", but they are not out and about so it hasn't changed the feel of the park.

Captain EO is a sad joke, and Figment needs to be brought back all the way, but I am dreaming.

Simply put, Epcot needs TWO more headliners. At least one of which should be in World Showcase (preferably in a new country).

It has been this way for years. Too many empty buildings and so much potential.

What is everyone picking for their tier 2 rides at Epcot? Just curious...

I glanced at the tiers just to refresh my memory...and man, that ride selection is bad!

It wouldn't be quite as bad if they had stuck Soarin and Test Track in one tier and the rest in Tier 2, but I guess they couldn't even do that without running out of Tier 1s.

The tiers really accentuate how poor the ride selection is there (in my very humble opinion of course)

I agree. Is a FP really needed for some of this stuff in Epcot? The only lines I've ever encountered in Epcot are... Test Track, Soarin (not bad), and the lines for the buses to exit the park after illuminations..... They should offer a FP+ for the buses to get out of there!!!

I'll probably choose Living with the Land since I haven't experienced that yet.

Hahaha! :D

I couldn't agree more about the tiered attractions. Epcot is my favorite park closely behind MK. I can go there, go on nothing and be happy just taking in the atmosphere. But I do love Soarin and TT... I absolutely hate MS, so I won't be bothering to get a FP for that. Maelstrom is another favorite. Luckily each trip, we hit up Epcot 2 or 3 times so I will be able to do all my favorites. I also like getting there for ropedrop so I know I shouldn't have a problem doing the ride that I don't have a FP for before the actual FP ride.

The tier system is annoying, but I can still manage around it. I go during a less crowded time (after Jersey Week, before Thanksgiving week) so I feel for those who go during the summer and holidays where it will be insanely crowded no matter what.
