No wonder i keep a book with my dear "Samantha~isms"

Last night I am hanging ornaments on the tree and she says "Mom ---- are you decking the halls with boughs of holly?" as serious as could be....mind you - she is 3 and they must be talking about this at school...I laughed so hard....and then just said "Yes, dear - come and help me!"

What a little dolly :flower: You will remember that one always!

My DD, now 19 (and I sit here in her dorm awaiting her return from an exam)....is named 'Shelby Alana'...and when she was small we called her Peanut. When she too was around three a lady in a store asked her her name and I laughed when I heard her say "Peanut Banana"...laughed even more at the poor womans face!!!

Lifes little treasures right out of the mouths of babes! :wave2:

Oh kidisms are the best. For some reason around age 3 is the best for them. When DD was about 3 my DH called her munchkin she couldn't say it and one day told her dad I am not a munchchicken you are. 7 years later munchchicken is a word still used in our house.

My sister once came home upset because she had to take something into school to give to a girl in her class called Chantelle.

She was pretty upset and my mum couldn't work out why they had to bring things in for Chantelle.

The teacher explained my sister had misunderstood, they had to bring things in for SHOW AND TELL!

haha 3 year olds are great for cute sayings

at 3 i was ummm a bit bossy..ok so VERY bossy. So i had a dance show and i was the only one who remembered to bow at the end. So i said to the girl next to me "youre supposed to bow!" well she was too nervous to bow so i went and told all the girls that we had to bow or else santa wouldnt bring them presants! that got them bowing!

hahahaha..and 11 years later..im still just as bossy..but im nicer!

My 3 yr old niece is good at this too. I was eating dinner at her house once and she had to go potty in the middle of the meal. She asked me to "keep an eye on my food". We have no idea where she got that!

Too cute! I need to keep a book as well. My kids keep me in stitches. DD5 asked her grandpa what those lines were on his forehead, he said "wrinkles". She said "well, maybe you should go iron them!"

Also, when she says grace at the dinner table, she says "in the name of the father, the son and the holy spirit, anymen." We are not catholic either but she went to catholic school last year.

Yes, definitely need to keep a book!! Thanks for the idea OP!!!

Awww! That's darling. I miss those 3 year old days some days!

I have another one to share, courtesy of the 3 yr old's big sister, also a Samantha. (must be something about that name, LOL).

Well, anyway, whenever her family would come to dinner, I would set the snacks out on the coffee table in the living room. One time, I set the snacks on the dining room table, and then we had dinner and dessert. When they were getting ready to go home, Samantha said to me "why didn't we have the holdovers in the living room like we always do?" You see, whenever dinner would be late, her mom would ask her if she wanted something "to hold you over"--thus, holdovers! Now we use that term, and I even have a few friends who use it to.

they are a hoot and I am really glad I have been keeping a "book" so she can enjoy them when she is grown. Another funny one was when she had an ear infection...we were putting drops in her ears and I asked if she was ready to get her medicine, she something to the effect of she was ready to get her "rain drops" now!

These are too cute!!

Okay, here's mine. When my dd was two, we didn't have any landscaping yet in our backyard. One of our kitties got out, and it had been raining so the ground was soft "mud". Where he walked, he left footprints. Our dd asked her daddy what those were, and he replied, "Where Conrad walked, he left his footprints."

She looked at us a little puzzled, and then smiled really big. She asked if she could go walk in the mud, and we said sure. After a few minutes, she came back, very proud of herself and said, "Look what I did Daddy!! I left footprincesses!!!"

I have got one from my 8yo DD. Proud as a peacock she comes home from school and announces "Mom, I know what a homosexual is??" Someone who has sex at home...mind you she doesn't even KNOW what sex is!!

We just agreed with her...

LOL!! :rotfl:

My DD5 had swimmers ear this summer & required drops. She was at her father's for the weekend & he didn't use the drops. When she came home of course her ear was much worse & when she was going to bed it began to bleed (busted ear drum)....her immediate, and very stern response, with hands on hips...

"See Mommy, now my ear is rusting because he didn't use the medicine!"

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I alsmot died laughing and added that to my Maddie book that night. Kids are so funny!

My then 4 year old told me that she had "pickles" on her chest. I asked her what pickles..(because she had nothing that looked remotely like pickles on her shirt)...she very quickly lifted her shirt up and showed me what her "pickles" were!

I love three year olds - they say the best things - when I worked in preschool - three's were my favorite

One year while practicing for for the Christmas program I noticed one little boy singing the words just a little differently to "Deck the Halls" and when I listened closer I was able to make out --

"SEE THE BLAZING MULE IN THE FOREST - FALALALA LA LA LA LA"

I laughed so hard - I cried.

DD5 came home from Catholic School the other day - and asked if I was having sex today (I shot a look at hubby wondering if he instigated this). I told her "that I don't even WANT to know what sex is" (meaning , I wasn't quite ready for the conversation or her interpretation). She then told me, "Mom, how can you not know what sex is - its when you kiss in bed" I was somewhat relieved that that's what she thought and somewhat distrubed that she is saying the word sex.

:rotfl2: These are too cute and funny!

Here's another "pickle" one... When dd was 4 one day she came running into the room with her shirt up, pointing to her nipples, yelling "hey look, mom! I found these things!"

Then at age 7, we were on our way to the doctor's office for a sick visit. (Background: she'd recently had strep so bad they had to give her a shot of penicillin.) So, on the way to the doc's, she says she hopes she doesn't have to have a shot again, her bottom is starting to hurt just thinking about it, then "I never knew my bottom had such a good memory." :rotfl2:

I LOVE THESE!

My dd (also 3, good age!) wants no part of potty training. DH spent so many months telling her that it is what BIG kids do...she finally told us why she won't do it. "Mommy, it's because I'm not big yet. Look at my feet!"

Here is another one. I heard this at a Catholic church. A mom, dad, and little girl were in the pew in front of me. The mom gave the girl $1 to put in the basket later. The girl was busy arguing that she wanted to eat with the parents when communion time came around, but did take the $1. Later, after mass, we the family got ready to leave and noticed the $1 in the girls hand still. Asked her why she still had it. Her reply ~~ "I don't eat, I don't pay."
