You noticed it as well? Cars are so drab now that I think it is altering the color cones in our eyes. Last year I had a battery pass away in a restaurant parking lot. I called AAA to give me a jump and they asked for my location. I told them about in the middle of the parking lot. It would be hard to miss because it is bright red and the only color besides white, gray or black in the very full parking lot. We have become dull and boring in this century.

So true! Of our neighbors within block of our house there was only 1 blue older Suburban rest were all black, white or silver. Growing up my dad only owned silver colored cars. His car of choice was the ChevyOldsmoBuick, he'd get a new car every 4 years, one year he came home (he never took mom or me) and we both were sad, he didn't get a new car. But he did, exactly like his previous one. BORING!

We've had seven cars since 1999, and they were all either black or dark grey. I'm so sick of those colors. Our current cars are both dark grey, but they're 8 and 10 years old, and neither is going anywhere soon; in fact we may sell the 8 year-old because we really don't need two cars anymore. Fortunately, we're both past the age where we care what we drive.

I miss my bright green car. Now it is a grey-green, it doesn't stand out as much. In fact I walked up to another car (different model, even) that was a similar color and it took me a second to realize it wasn't my car.

My dad loved bright cars. He had a yellow one, an emerald green one, a sapphire blue one, and two different red cars plus a red pickup truck. I have had two blue ones, then a silver, a gold, and now a turquoise one.

Our neighbor when I was growing up owned a used car lot and would drive a different car every year. They were always a color and he would paint his house to match that year’s car color (fortunately he didn’t drive a red car, as the house was bright yellow, blue, and green at various times).
