The tacky continues...

That’s not how project management works, though. Things don’t get done on time simply because you have a ton of money and you just want it completed.

There are a million factors at play when creating a new system, a new land, etc. There are unforeseen issues that arise, there are problems with funds, there are tiny little issues that affect bigger things.
I work for a major institution that is the primary employer for my city (and local area). We have our own print shop and on the off-chance something needs to be done off-site, it happens quickly. The school's overall annual budget is 1.7Bn. I'm hearing you say that Disney (let alone Disney Parks, or just the Florida resorts) don't have that capability?

A lot of people seem to be missing the point of the Tweet. We joked that they'd do this...and they are. That to me is funny.

It doesn't bother me, I'll be honest I had to enlarge the picture and stare real careful at it to even see the fact that it was a sticker or painted over the other sign. I just don't look that carefully at things like that, especially if I'm in the park. I glance up and see the sign and move on. I would probably notice if it was hanging on one side. I do notice the dead flowers but since I have a rose garden, I know those buds will die over night or even mid day so keeping on top of them is a pain.

I’m not saying they don’t have the capability. I’m saying that sometimes there are factors that are outside anyone’s control that can cause delays.

My point is that we are all assuming Disney is being cheap. But we don’t know that. No one can know if that’s temporary or permanent. I’m simply positing that perhaps there are things causing delays on getting more permanent signs that we aren’t aware of. Or maybe not. The truth is that no one on here knows what is happening with the signs, including myself. But I’m a person who gives the benefit of the doubt first until more information is made available to me. And it’s totally cool if others want to be irritated or angry.

I’m just trying to give another perspective. Things might happen outside of Disney’s control that can cause delays. They have had delays before and they will continue to, because no company is perfect in execution.

Exactly. And of course, besides supply chain issues, there very well may be man power issues. Almost every company is having problems finding enough help, Disney included. Add in that this is in Florida, which is currently having a covid surge. For all we know, half the sign makers/ installers are out sick, hospitalized or in quarantine. There is nothing normal about any of this. Being mad about the price or the new program makes sense. Being mad at the quality of the signs seems nit picky.

Who is mad, though? I see disappointed folks. Annoyed folks. I see people who are bemused. I don't see anyone observing this who is *mad.*

I am not understanding this accusation of anger and outrage at all. When my kids say something is lame, I don't say "why are you mad?" It's just lame. That's not disputable. There is not one person here who can actually say this looks good or nice. I think it's ok to point out that it doesn't look good or nice. And things that are not looking so good or nice on Disney's part are maybe on the upswing a little. Understandable. The whole world is in unprecedented times, not just Disney. There have also been changes in MK's management very recently. So who knows what the cause of this lameness is. It's still lame, and I think it's okay for people to point that out without being accused of being mad.

Didn't we just live through nearly a year of blue "6' social distancing" stickers glued all over the parks and resorts? They were literally tacky!! I think if we survived that, we can survive some temporary Lightning Lane signs for the moment.

Did not see those. We refused to go until our entire family could be vaccinated. But the question is whether or not these are temporary. Time will tell.

I don't see a problem with the sticker, I think it looks nice. I bet it will take a lot of stickers to cover all the references to FastPass.

I'll be thrilled when they take down all the tacky plexiglass everywhere.

Maybe I used the wrong word. Or maybe it’s hard to know what people are feeling when you read their posts. Maybe I should have said being “annoyed”. Although IRL, annoyed is very closely related to mad in my mind. I don’t mean to offend by using the word “mad”. I guess I just see it differently. And I personally don’t think that sign looks lame.

I can see people thinking the sticker isn't really that big of a deal. But the one where you can literally see "Fastpass +" underneath it? That looks lame.

Maybe people didn't click on the pictures? Because I cannot imagine why anyone would think that looks good.

I had to go zoom in to figure out what y'all were even talking about. That sticker looks fine. They exactly matched the font and the color. I could have walked under that dozens of times and never even noticed that.

I want to ask Disney if they think it would be ok to use Duct Tape to tape a paper sign on the entrance to MK saying "50th Celebration"? Because that is what I think the next step will be for them.

It is just that the "show" has always been so very important! and now it seems the "show" is taking place in an 8 year old's back yard, using scraps he found in the neighbors trash pile.
We are paying Broadway prices to go to the show in the neighbors back yard.

But on the other hand I hope these are temporary until the new signs come in.
And I really think they are rushing to get all this in place to get it tested out before Oct 1st. God help us if they try to roll this out on Oct 1st!!! My Disney Experience is DOOMED!!

ps... just to clarify... I am annoyed.... not angry about this... I have better things to get angry about... like the price increases! :goodvibes

I'm talking about this. This is something that no one can earnestly say looks "good."

Maybe it’s my astigmatism, coz I’m used to “seeing” double & shadows. Maybe it’s my old eyes. But I can barely even notice that. I had to move my phone around at different angles to even see anything. We arrive Thursday. Maybe I’ll feel different after seeing it in person. But from that picture, it’s total non issue for me.
