The Sweet Meet - Dis'ers do Hershey

I had to finally let Jennifer know today as a friend of hers wanted to come into town that weekend. She is super excited so there's no way I can say "no" now is there?

WOOT!! :cool1:

Ok, its a done deal, I'm coming on Saturday!
.......
I'm pretty excited! Among other things, I really love Hershey Park. See everyone soon!!

double WOOT!! :cool1:

And since Anne mentioned construction on 81 I'm thinking that 78 may be the best route in for me. :scratchin

81 was just an option...78 it is!! :car::drive:

Trust me. I've been to MANY a weekend car show where the gang just set up the spread in the parking lot with lawnchairs and coolers. As long as maybe someone brings or buys a couple of citronella candle buckets, we'll be fine anywhere. We ARE the party - we don't need a special locale. :)

DISer TAILGATE PARTY!!!

We will be there too. I don't post too much but I met a few of you at other events. Can't wait!

My plan is to work at home until I need to leave for the airport - I thini the deciding factor will be what time is dinner.

I can change and get there an hour and a quarter early if we want more wiggle room. Google says about 2 hours from BWI to Fuddruckers in Hummelstown. I'm planning on carry on only, so there won't be a need to wait for baggage. All up to you, my chauffeur. :goodvibes:goodvibes

Still trying to decide if we want to spend a night or not.....

Would need someone to take care of the dogs, and have a family party on Sunday.

Just talked to my BFF, he and his DP will be meeting us for dinner, if that's okay. And he asked if he could steal me for Friday evening, post dinner to 'show me a night on the town'.

Is there anyone in your family close by to watch the dogs? That is the pain about pets.... My dog is going to the hamptons for the weekend with my parents, lol...

That's great that they will be at dinner too! I *guess* we could let you go off with your BFF....but don't party too hard - you have to be at "rope drop" the next morning!

The more the merrier!

BFF can have you on Friday night, but not on Saturday night. We won't let you miss our parking lot party. :lmao:

I believe the parking lot party with be both Friday and Saturday nights... that is if all of us don't get arrested before Saturday night.

When I first told Vinny last night about having a tailgate style party in the parking lot, he stopped what he was doing, turned around and looked at me and said, "Everyone is going to be in the parking lot????......What does Paul say about this?".........:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

My schedule this week has been a bit out of whack. Thought I'd catch a break from my July work schedule but now grandson has football practice four nights a week for the month of August. Didn't get home until 9pm the last two nights. :headache:

Interesting watching an 11 yr old just playing football for the first time. I'd have to say his 2nd practice was better than the first.

No practice for gramps tonight. Need to eat at a decent hour then chat!

A question for the parents. What do you bring for the kids on your roadtrips to keep them occupied? I haven't done this in so long. When I was a kid on a long trip, you amused yourself "quietly" or else. ;)

He'll have his Nintendo DS and I'll have to find a car charger for that. Maybe some books. He doesn't do MP3 players. Maybe I'll have to check into a cheap portable DVD player. Or maybe he will sleep for 7 hours. :yay:

Post your tips. Thanks!

Connor has a DS that is usually enough to keep him occupied. If it isn't we'll also bring along some DVD's.

A portable DVD player is your friend. My girls bring their DVD player, DS, ipod, and books. Mom plans snacks - usually something I don't bring into the house so it is special.

We also played "punch buggie' and other car games when we drove to Florida.

I love that you have an "American" purse
Sounds like you've got more things to do than any of us as you are coming from a different country, lol!!! So glad you guys are coming

My girls will have ipod touches, I will bring my laptop and they can watch a movie, snacks, books - our trip there will be much shorter than yours is, so it won't be too bad. When I was younger and went on roadtrips with my family, my mother always packed us each a special bag or box with toys, madlibs, snacks, it was almost as fun as going on the trip.
