The stupid question of the day award...

I used to live in New Mexico and it's amazing how many people think it isn't a state. One CM I spoke to when I was making reservations thought Canada was the 50th state. :confused3
Tell me about it, I use to live in New Mexico too. Before the Olympic Games in Atlanta started, people from New Mexico would call up and ask for tickets for the various events. Well, the answer was always the same, "You'll have to call the Olympic committee in your country of Mexico." Kind of sad isn't it? And for my own personal story. When I was stationed in Japan I would regularly call home and talk to my parents. Well, when I would pick up the phone and call the AT&T operator and tell her I wanted to place a collect call to New Mexico, I would be told to contact the Mexican operator. Rrriiigghhht. I would usually chuckle and tell her that New Mexico is one of the fifty, and that we became a state in 1912. :sad2:

Oh, no, it was just me typing too quickly. Setzkitten was the poster that I quoted. I was talking directly to that person. :teeth: She/he lived in New Mexico and I should have said--Setzkitten, I lived in Farmington. When I put the name after the city I lived in, that's what got confusing!

Sorry about that. I lived in New Mexico and people thought it was not part of the United States.
No need to apologize. Like most people, I figured it out after 2 seconds. But it was funny to see what looked like a place name, but wasn't.

Oh Setzkitten, what's your zip code and two-letter postal code abbreviations? (and your state bird and state flower) :)

Don't worry... my co-worker thought Canada was a state. Same person who didn't realize you had to know how to swim to be a lifeguard coordinator.

Sorta terrifying that these people have a driver's license, huh?

Oh, I remember when my sis lived in NM while she was pregnant with her first. People would ask me if she was coming back to the US to deliver her baby!
