Free shade at Typhoon Lagoon?

Haven't been to a Disney water park in probably 8-10 years. Was wondering if Typhoon Lagoon offers ample shade, umbrellas, for guest that are still free? Or has such been reduced a good bit?

There are umbrellas and some shaded spots where you can sit but you'll want to get there early because they are the spots that people grab first.

There are pavilions (Free) scattered about, that always have space open. Yes, better to grab them right around 10AM, but I always see room there, even mid-day.

Any recommendations of where to head to get shaded chairs at opening? We don’t want to waste a lot of time wandering but need to keep out of the sun when not on slides.

Just something to think about… that shaded chair at opening likely won’t be a shaded chair at 1pm……. Maybe we are weird, but we put most stuff in a locker, ride the slides, then when we need a break, find a spot to sit. Maybe I have only been there on lighter crowd days, but we didn’t have to go far to find space to sit in the shade. Might not have had enough chairs to go around, but still had space to sit.

times have changed, with the "free" water park day now they are even turning away paying guests to let all the "free" guests in.

If the park hits capacity I can't imagine there will be too many spots to just grab thru the day anymore.
