1) OP and I weren't together during vacation..we only met up with each other 1 day.2)Family Day Parade was new just about 5 min.
3)The woman in old fashion costume was on the sidewalk very loudly talking about her upcoming term as Mayor, she was very comical, sorry she amused my 4 year old.
4)Never said DS ran out of store. He hopped out of stoller which he was sitting in hold trinkets he wanted to purchase headed towards the door. The whole time I WAS with him. When he went to DH all of 4-5 feet away(display between us) I assumed he put his things on top of stroller with everything else we had piled on it to purchase.
5)Mug fits in stroller just fine obviously now...we had drinks in them the whole lenght of stay?
6)Yes I am a big girl and don't need my DH at my side at all times we split up w/ children all the time to keep them happy due to the age differences( 17,12,4) parade is done while listening to mayor.
7) Yes they would not let me bring my children to security because it is back stage and children are not suppose to see what is back stage because it could ruin thier magic. Officers gave me map to jail told me to go in about 3 hours..I had to find transportation so it took almost 2, when arriving there they told me 3 more hours for prints to clear, then they started bail paperwork aobut 2 hours, then they accepted cash and told me 6-12 more hours for his discharge. Trust me ther were families that were there longer than we were!
8) Trust me when I tell you I do not have the free time to make up stories nor the desire

I have a 4 year old as well and I can't imagine her getting excited to see The Mayor! Mickey yes, the Mayor....I don't think so!

I have come to the conclussion that "feelslikeadream" and "mommamouse" are whacked and need a little attention at home!

I'm just upset that all of these people are lining up to see a parade that I have never even heard of . I guess I just didn't have the Disney Knowledge I thought I had. How embarassing!

Here is my "Thanksgiving" day. Read over two hundred posts. With a break around the 170s because this man inspired me to run out to get a Bacon and Egg McMuffin. After I woke up my partner laughing at the sight of this mayor. I'm watching the parade right now....

And I'm not even American. Might cook a turkey in homage to this thread!

My investigation is complete. OP & MM are one in the same. Writing styles & grammar irregularities are too similar to be coincidental.

Summary: OP had a crummy vacation after a year of thorough research & planning on the DIS and she would like to write a letter to Michael Eisner about her experience. Spectromagic was cancelled without notification, the dining plan was confusing because candy bars & muffins were excluded with no explanation, and her DH was arrested for shoplifting a mug that DS4 stuffed inside a stroller before darting out of the store to get the mayor's autograph.

Surely Michael Eisner rolled off the finger accidentially while typing - hasn't he been gone too long to care about the daily activities?

You're right, there is a bigger story here! It appears the OP's family didn't see the Mayor of Main Street after all! They saw Hildegard, who is a woman running against the Mayor in the next election on Main Street! Hildegard does seem very competant to govern Main Street, but I do like the current Mayor Weaver a lot, though!

The arrest may be true - but would only come as the result of something we're not hearing - like a lack of cooperation with the authorities.

I thought the same thing. Unless there was some kind of lack of cooperation & someone made a scene, I highly doubt Disney would draw attention to a matter such as this.

Plus, didn't the OP or Mommamouse mention something about them going to ride Buzz while the parade was going? Now they didn't ride Buzz - or did they? How can you ride Buzz if the parade on Main Street is only 5 minutes long. You can't even walk to Buzz from Main Street in that amount of time.

The Mayor has been there for years, I met him in 1995. He hangs around the flagpole area and does not venture much further. I can't say that I have seen him every trip, just a few times over the years.


The Family Day Parade is new for Year of a Million Dreams. It was described to us as a "You are the parade" kind of thing and not the normal Disney parade.
