The Sniper strikes again...........

The sniper has sruck again........

Victim #12 (a 60+ man) was shot outside a Ponderosa restaurant in Ashland, VA - near Richmond, VA, south of Fredericksburg, VA. No word on the severity of his wounds.......

IMO the police have got to shut up about what they are doing to catch this A*******!; i.e. saying the military is flying overhead to detect muzzle flashes. What did he do - exactly what we thought. He picked up and left the metro area and started up outside the military's "eyes."

Chief Moore of Montgomery County, MD, sounds like he doesn't know what is going on. The man is unable to speak in a clear concise manner and gives away too much information (when you are able to understand him).

Again, my heart goes out to the families of the victims and to everyone else in America. No one is safe. We must all be vigilant. WE MUST CTCH THESE PEOPLE WHO WISH TO CHANGE OUR WAY OF LIFE AND TAKE OUR LIVES! Thanks for allowing me to vent.

All the theories about "patterns", I now believe is a bunch of garbage. This latest shooting should tell us that there IS NO PATTERN. My biggest fear is his next target may be a church. He had inhibited people filling their tanks with gas (our capitalistic, gas-guzzling cars), he has inhibited our shopping (using our "large" bank accounts to buy our capitalistic goods), he has inhibited our shopping for things for our homes (our "huge" mansions bought with out devil-produced money, now he hopes to have inhibited our ability to eat out at restaurants away from the D.C. suburbs. If it is the Al Qaeda or similar terrorist sect, their next target may be a church, since in their minds, we worship the devil, not Allah. God help us all! But, me personally, shall NOT be deterred or swayed. I will not live in fear of this sick, jerk.

It hasn't been confirmed that it was the sniper, but it was confirmed that there was no altercation with this man. He was standing one second and not the next.

If the media kept quiet for awhile then they might actually be able to get this guy. Everytime you turn on the news they are blabbing about their next tatics in catching this person. They are giving him fair warning whenever they broadcast new information.

I'm all for the media shutting up. The fact is that I've just quit watching 24 hour news channels. The sensationalize everything and there ratings just keep getting better. I know we have a little right to know but they need to leave the info about finding the white truck, the miltary involvement, and any other info that might help the sniper allude them. These daily press conferences are ridicilous.

My eight year old son just came back from King's Dominion tonight. He said they saw helecopters with spot lights, and police officers in the woods. I thought I was safe sending him further south with his friends, I guess nowhere is safe right now. I know our high schools(we live in Stafford) are playing games in Richmond for safety reasons, but I guess that isn't safe either. I am tired of "zig-zagging" into stores, and feeling like "whew! I made it". I have seen several people running in parking lots to their cars. What a sad way we are being forced to live.

UPDATE on the victim: he is a white 37y.o. male. He is in surgery now. The shooting occurred at 846pm (2046). The police have blocked off I-95. Here's a clue - HE'S GONE and he probably took the back/side roads again.

disneyispi, I wondered about the police always blocking major highways. We always take backroads when there's traffic problems or whatever so it seemed like this nut might do the same. Are the police not checking the backroads?

My local TV stations are all Washington, DC. I know these stations have covered the sniper non-stop. Is it like this all over the states? I often wonder what has happened to the rest of the news.

Looks like they have all but shut down downtown Richmond. All the intersections leading downtown are closed according to the news.

A lot of highschools were having Homecoming dances tonight. We went out to dinner and saw all these teenagers dressed up and having a blast. I bet their parents are frantically trying to get them home right now

Just saw on our local news - they have two guys that were at the scene that videotaped what was going on. They said they were about 100 feet away and the police had someone in custody. They had a high powered weapon and there was a white Ford Econoline van nearby.

Either they caught him or this might just be a copycat

I feel for all who live in the area affected. I wonder how we would feel if we weren't get the updates.

We live in the new millenium not the 60 and the Viet Nam era where things could be edited. we live in the "information age" where we saw Baghdad bombed in 80's and I don't think we'll accept anything less then timely reporting and having it now.

Is that confirmed that someone has actually been apprehended???? I don't have access to a TV or radio in my office, and the Cnn.com site is slow in updating the situation.......
