The Smith's "yes, we are to Disney AGAIN" PreTrip Report!

All of the things you made for your dd are awesome. I wish I could sew. But really those things are all awesome!

Hey there,

Sorry I haven't been here yet!! I've been really busy! :guilty:

I love your PTR!!!

Oh, make sure you check out my thread, I've got a surprise with you!!! :rolleyes1

But she will wear things I made for her because she still thinks it's "cool" for mommy to make her Disney clothes but I'm sure that it won't last much longer!

Maybe I should take up sewing. My DD is looking forward to wearing t-shirts that I'm making from the disign boards. She has even agreed to wear one with Alice and one with Tink. I'm going to enjoy every last second of it because I know that this will be it.

Sewing, like Scrapbooking, is very therapeutic!!!

Look what Wannabe Belle made for me (as well as a couple of other things!)!!!! If you see it in the parks...make sure to say HI!!!

I also got an AMAZING package from Stacy (SoHappy) this week but since it's a surprise for DD...it won't be showing up on my PTR. You'll have to wait til my TR in Sept for it ;)

I am caught up now. I am mostly a silent reader. Sometimes I don't post much outside of the Disboutique thread. Aisling looks so cute in all of her customs. You guys are going to have so much fun. I don't know why, but I found Disney to be more fun when Jenna was wearing customs.:confused3

Silent readers are just as welcome!!!! Disney is more fun with CUSTOMS. I can't wait...and thank you again ;) for um...enhancing my custom collection :rotfl:

Well my mini-break due to my DD's day care being closed came to an end (with a bang!) this week. We went to Water Country on Monday and DD fell off the pirate ship and did some nice damage to her forehead. Nothing that EMS couldn't handle and nothing that stopped her from running around the park for the rest of the day. However, before that DD and I went to Old Orchard Beach, Maine (where I have been spending my summers since I was an infant) for the week. I thought that I would share some photos. I should also mention that I overly saturated the pictures just for the fun of it.

if you've never seen OOB, ME, it's got some old seaside elements still there (with the rides on the beach)
OOB.jpg

It's also got a really cool old pier

DD's favorite ride is this frog thing (mini Tower of Terror concept)

We spent a lot of time on the actual beach which means my pale Irish skin finally has some color. DD would move into the ocean if I let her...

We also got to relax in the hot tub. I couldn't use the "adult" hot tub because I was alone with DD but we used the "not as hot" hot tub

DD also got to go Deep Sea Fishing (which her stomach didn't handle well!). My Dh's cousin took this picture of DD and her cousins on the beach. It's such a cute pic that I had to include it

OH and don't think that DH didn't have any fun just because he didn't get to go. I let him get a new tattoo. He had this rather ugly tattoo of a BRIGHT BLUE Taurus symbol on his arm. He has wanted to cover it up for sometime. I came up with the idea that he could cover it with a Claddagh...so he finally did it. It's a pretty good coverup I think since you can barely see the Taurus symbol underneath. I'm not a big tattoo person (just don't like pain that much :rotfl: ) but I'm OK with this one.

I am so in!!

As I'm a social worker, I cannot do math in my head. So here I am, trying to drive home, extremely excited, trying to do math.

:lmao: That's funny! But wait, what's my excuse then?:confused3

My parents clearly enjoyed the fact that I'm a Disney Souvenir because they chose to take me to Disney year after year...and dress me like this:

Let me take this time to clarify a few things 1) we have gone other places besides Disney and 2) I've never told my hubby that Epcot was just as good as going to the real countries.

Seems like a good time to introduce you to DD.

.

There is a photo of me in that same Mickey sweatshirt outfit (only my ears where black) floating around Mom's house somewhere.

What's funny is that DS5 and I just got back from Germany and he asked if we could go to WDW a few days later than planned. When I asked why, he said he wants to go back to Germany for his B'day (iso WDW). So I told him not to worry we would be in Germany in Epcot. :rotfl:

Your DD is adorable!

I'm absolutely opposed to going during school break times. I can't ask a child to stand in a line that I don't have the patience to wait in. We go in Sept (and put up with the heat) just so we can walk onto rides.
AMEN!

Basically Tink comes to our house (after, of course, closely monitoring DD's behavior all year) and leaves a pixie dust trail from the window to a basket of goodies

I just hope mine turns out as nice!!!

Here is the first:

. This Puppy mysteriously disappeared one day while DD and DH were out running errands. They had gone to the park and several stores. It wasn't until 9pm that we noticed he was missing. So at 9pm DH and I had to call our inlaws to babysit so we could go look for Puppy. This was about a year ago. He was never found. So we got a new Puppy (the one you see in the above picture) who was a close subsitute. Actually, to be safe, we got two of them and I rotated them w/o DD's knowledge.

Great minds think alike!!! I did the same with DS5. only his was a giraffe. I did the rotating thing too, but he caught on eventually. It was my fault really. One day I noticed that giraffe had a hole in his antenna which DS always stuck his thumb in while sleeping. So I thought I would be clever and recreate the hole in the other giraffe. Well, that did not go as well as planned. The hole I made at the seam opened up to big. Being someone who's allergies include Housework, ironing and sewing (sorry), I did not try to fix this. I thought it went un-noticed, until after rotating them a few times DS tells me he rather have "Holey". I had no idea what he was talking about. He said "this is Flappy giraffe, I want Holey giraffe tonight instead". OOPS. Oh well, he was happy with both.

Here is Illuminations OR Epcot on FIRE!!!

Here are some of our favorite photos:

I LOVE these pics. What kind of camera do you have?

I am SEEEEW jealous of your talents!! I love the pirate shirt I wanted to make DS something simular but I just don't think the safetypins would look right. :lmao: That is my usual solution to sewing. I found one I loved on ebay but it was $35 with shipping. I just can't do it, money is just too tight. My solution was to create my on iron-on designs. Problem is the ironing part.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Did they freak from the noise or just fireworks in general? DD hated the noise last year but loved to see the fireworks (we discovered on the 4th that she's gotten over it). We seriously contemplated bringing ear plugs this trip...but guess we won't be needing them. Something for you to think about though.

I will definatly try the earplugs too. We were at a Monster Truck Show and had to leave early because the noise was too much for DS. I just don't know if he will keep them in.

To answer the question about the weight loss it's been a LONG journey. I started almost 3 years ago. I was inspired by The Biggest Loser. I love that show. Anyway, I started walking and I did the South Beach diet for like 2 months. The weight just fell off but I can't stick to that diet, I need other foods. So then I lost some more on my own with portion control. Finally last Jan I started WW. I did it through July of last year, then took a break, gained 10 lbs, now I'm back on it. I still have 16 left to lose but I feel great, and I feel like I look good.
I really hope to be down 6 more lbs by WDW. But this weekend was NOT good for me either. I made some really bad food choices and I consumed way too much beer, lol. So now I'm back on it. I probably gained 2 lbs this weekend, but hopefully it's a lot of salt etc.
That is great you've lost 10 lbs. Losing weight is soooo hard! And food that is bad for you is soooo good.

I just wanted to say ERIN13178, that you are my hero. i have over 100lbs to loose and I just can't seem to get on the bandwagon. I start out well for about 2 to 3 weeks and then it all crumbles:headache:

The first one, I go to and I see a cookie cutter that I really SHOULD have!!! So, thanks a lot!

I saw that cookie cutter too. I was thinking I should get it and make my own Mickey Head Rice Krispy Treats to bring to the park. See what you've started!!!

Too bad you couldn't convince DH to include a hidden mickey in his tattoo.:rotfl2:

Tee Hee...that would have been great. But I think I would have been headed for Divorce Court if I asked him to wear a permanent mickey!!!! But i did get him to wear shirts!!!

I spent my Sunday working on stuff for the trip. First I made autograph pages for DD's book. I got a really cool book from DISER PrincessDisneyBelle as well as some fun bows BUT I know that there was a bunch more characters that we end up meeting. So I decided to add pages...took me all afternoon! After that, I printed out my index cards with all our info and my new customized LGmH that Wannabe Belle made. I also worked on our tshirts. Wannabe Belle made me some really cool AK DISigns that I decided to make into tshirts for the airplane. Taekwondo Mom also made me an Anniversary Design. So I made DH's tshirt today. I ran out of transfer paper (wanted to try it first before I bought a bunch. So now I have make my shirt and our MNSSHP shirts (in case I decide not to wear my costume) and we are good for shirts!

Here is what the front and back of the "airport" shirts look like
