Padre Island National Seashore (PINS for short), its a federal park. The only way to get to the end is with a 4-wheel drive vehicle. After about the 5th mile, its 4-wheel drive only. (I think its over 60 miles, but I could be wrong) The beaches we frequent in the Corpus Christi are able to be driven on. There are some that you can't, but they also tend to be crowded. The nice thing about the national seashore is that you can drive down and get away from alot of people. Seems safer with the kids running around. Before DH's back surgery, we had a camper and we would actually drive down the beach and camp in it. (we had a generator and carried in extra water) There was nothing better than sleeping listening to the waves, opening the door in the morning to the water. We had a few adventure with some storms, but every trip was memorable. I miss the camper.

But I don't miss the payment.

Now we'll be staying in a hotel. Wish I was there right now.
